I have watched and enjoyed all your dragline videos. The machine seems to be in really good condition and it looks great after the paint job and repairs. Also, it looks like the old girl gives the operator a good workout. I am glad to say that several people in the states have become interested in these old machines. Some of the guys that I follow have bought old draglines and are planning on bringing them back to working condition. Good luck if you pursue this further.

Thanks. There will probably be one or two more videos, but it will be me preparing her for sale. Cheers glad you enjoyed them.

Hopefully in about a year or so I’m going to have a look at buying an RB like yours to use at my Dad’s property!

Everybody has to start somewhere. I remember my 1st time WELL! The free swing gave me a fit but when I quit swatting flies it was GET OUT OF THE WAY! The 22-B got killed by an ARVN so in came the truck cranes and a finished job by an American with a flathead Ford gasoline/petrol power plant with plenty of hot asphalt for crater compound for the old worn gears. Then home and slinging mud to pay light bills. But where is the blue hat? I miss the trademark! CHEERS, Mate! God Bless!.

The blue hat was only used for a short time on one earthmoving job, I was on a 631C at the Pelican Waters realestate development Golden Beach Caloundra. I earnt the nickname "Possum Vorn" after a famous rally car driver on that Job, because of how fast I was. Other than that, it has only been since I first started driving Steam engines. The Jeff Anderson Corona Lime Green Special was worn because that's when I bought the old girl. Love you guys, God Bless.

Interesting video to see with the original engine and all. The slewing ring rollers do not seem to be worn at all, do you happen to know what this crane has been used for in the past?

The last place it worked was for Walter Wright Crane Hire in Mackay Queensland as their yard crane. It was fitted out with a bucket to dig out a channel on a fishing village linked to a creek which found it's way out to Whitsunday coast. Prior to it working in Mackay and Proserpine it came from Melbourne. I haven't got any more of it's history. I had one flat spot on the slewring roller and walking gear is worn, it has 2 track belt pads taken out and they didn't come with the machine. Engine runs well and drive gears are in reasonable order. I renewed some of the cables and friction band material.

Hey Adrian, I'm curious how much gear oil does the 22B hold in the main gear splash bath as well as in the gear reservoir located under the drag drum? Thanks for your help.

@cjordan7284 I don't truly know and have discovered the hard way that I have over filled mine to you know where. I ended up getting oil on my swing/propel drums and I'm now in the process of doing my first service as well as degreasing my mistake. I will try get an accurate measurement and let you know once I have finished. Hopefully this weekend.

@@adriannettlefold9084 Interesting. I have a feeling my drain tube between the gear box and the chain case is clogged and the main gear box under the drag drum is not able to drain back into the splash bath. I took 15 gallons out of it last night. I'll drop the bottom end of the spash bath this weekend and see if I can see what's going on. I guess I have a partial answer--at least 15 gallons. ha. Thanks

@cjordan7284 I thought it was a fair bit but I don't know if it that much? We work in Litres and I had a 20L (5gallons) drum but didn't put all that in. But I didn't drain it all first either. Mine had a heap of water and custard type sludge that I started to drain the other day. So tomorrow I will go have another look and change the oil . The two plugs on the bottom of that gear case have about 2inches difference in level or there abouts... so between yours and my attempts we should come up with an answer.

@@cjordan7284 Do you have an email or contact number? I have just finished changing the gear oil on my machine and I found that so far it only took 15Litres tops. I haven't run it enough to see what oil is going back to the swing and propel vertical shaft box. but I did use diesel to clean it and it drained out.. so can only assume the horizontal rubber hose connection is clear.

I hope you will add some guard/protection around the drum and running gear beside the operator. Looks a bit frightening...

I think that will be a job for the next owner. I have come to the conclusion that it will cost me too much to keep as I don't have a shed or block of land to keep it on, I'm not a mechanic or a Welder or Fitter and Turner. So I have to pay other people to work on it and some of them like to take advantage of that. As well as sourcing spare parts or having new ones made. I earn more with the 2 train driving jobs I have than I would ever make having the 22RB as a small business, which is what I thought I would eventually do. So... all that said, I hope someone else will get some enjoyment out her as much as I have rescuing, restoring, and working her. Cheers.
