Honestly I've watched probably every single "Improve your DPS" video on here, currently at CP 260 on my first and only toon, maxing at about 20k on single target, which I'm told is "passable" or "good" especially for a new player. THIS is my favorite video - first of all, 100% on practice dummy's!! My DPS went from 10k to 20k IN A COUPLE HOURS, just by practicing my rotation, incorporating weaving. I also love way you break things down with simplicity. Didn't have the cooldown bar but I do now and can't wait to see how it improves my DPS!
I absolutely hate parsing, but I had to because, as you said, I needed the practice. After I learned from you how to weave my light attacks, my dps went up by 40k in a span of 3 weeks as I'm missing way fewer light attacks and got better with my rotation, aside from swapping a few set pieces around to maximize bonuses upkeep. So yeah, everything you said is true, and once again thank you!
Thx for this video. I’ve always had trouble with dps. I got the light attacks down. I was reapplying dots before they expired. Once I focused on that I added 15k dps. Thx
Thanks to you LA weaving is not even a habit for me, it's a part of me. Because I watched your videos before actually starting to play the game. And I'm using the LA weaving since my first character was level 1 lol. Guides are very important. Btw, most of the times I see the LA as a second or third best damage source in my damage output. So yeah, it's that important guys.
You are 100% right. Just did my first 100k parse on Dummy with my CP 1060 Stamblade and it was really a slow burn. Alle the little things kept adding up. When I first started out it was 45, then 60 then 80 , 90 and finally 100. Along the way I changed from Briarheart + Hunding to Relequen + Kinras, Golded it out, changed my Selenes Monster Set to Harpooners Wading Kilt + Slimecraw Head, put on the right expensive Enchants etc. for every step I took I noticed a slight increase in DPS. I still have a Ring to gold out and get perfected Relequen so I think I could go even further than 100. At least 110 is my next goal now. And one other thing that everyone has to do and I can not stress this point enough: practice - practice - practice!!! Until your rotation and priority list seeps into your soul and body and you start having haunting nightmares about it you did not practice enough. It has to become second nature. And learn to read Logs/Combat Metrics or ask someone experienced to do it for you to highlight areas for improvement. Good Luck to y'all and Lucky love your channel keep it up man. I've been playing a NB off-and-on since 2019. I wanted to get into pvp, but it's too frustrating because I die in like 1-2 hits. I wanted to move on then to focusing on pve, but it feels... boring? The best builds seem to recommend a super rigid playstyle setting up traps and using one ability. I only wind up using 2 class abilities ( an execute, and the 'attack 5 times and shoot an arrow' ), and none of the weapon abilities I was so excited for ( Dual wield ). Do you have any recommendations for what to do here?

@@areadhead see THAT right there is why I finally got fed up. It was an inside joke with a group of friends and because of nosy people on the damn internet I’ve had to ruin the joke and make it public. SMH
Light Attacking depends on your rotation, and When you are in your rotation. Heavy Attacks are also important to Sustain. If you run out of Resources, then your DPS drops to about 0. Light attack weave is at least as important, but there's also Passives from sets, and even Altmer (A heavy attack is Channeled, so you get the 5% damage reduction from that) that synergize with heavy Attacks. A good rotation isn't always light attack, nor always heavy attack, but knowing When to tap that button, when to hold it down, and when to release it. If you just tap, spam, tap, spam rinse repeat, you'll burn up one of your bars before your durations time out. That's Burst, not DPS. The only time I Burst in a Boss Fight is in Execute Mode to end it before I have to run through the rotation a few more times.
Okay, I have an exception to the general rule of "Only burst a boss in Execute mode" but that's a very specific Hybrid Sorcerer with the Stygian Set (Weapons, and Rings) That gives me a big boost of Spell Power when I leave Stealth, and I don't have to tell you about Sorcerer Burst. So, I buff up, and put 1 very painful arrow in that boss from Stealth, then drop Ballista, barswap, and Burst for 15 seconds when I have the most damage. However, that's not even close to a normal rotation, it's built from the start for Burst, and only whips out the bow to pull the Boss into position with the Tank in front of me. (Okay, Hasty Retreat for Major Expedition just to run faster without using an Ability slot.)
If you’re playing on console don’t get frustrated that you aren’t hitting 100k. I don’t know what it is about console but it seems like you just can’t parse as high as PC. Maybe it’s lag idk. Also remember that you don’t have to hit 100k to do the hardest stuff in the game. Obviously it will be much easier if you’re melting everything but it’s absolutely not a requirement to do the hard stuff.
It's because of all the cheats, oops, I meant to say add-ons that they have on PC. On PC they can run dynamic rotations in order to maximize uptimes on DoTs much easier because of those cheats, dang it, I meant add-ons. On consoles it's much more difficult to keep good uptimes on DoTs and many players run a static rotation instead of a dynamic one because of this. A static rotation in just about all cases is going to produce a lower total DPS parse.
@@abcdef-ee5rp Lol I've played pc and console. Though I prefer pc gaming cause it's smoother with more options and control, lately I've stuck with console because it has the very nice bonus that you can play from anywhere and not just be stuck at a desk. So maybe that makes me a lazy and cozy gamer. 😅
@@hellstrike5366 Addons have always been an important piece on MMO lmao, call it what you want but I think you are frustated for not getting access to those "cheats"

Hey Ghost :) First of: great videos!! Always entertaining and more importantly extremely informative! ;) I recreated your solo sorcerer build or tbh still trying to get all of the stuff :D I got all mother's sorrow parts you recommended in divine but like you probably already guessed - I got a lot of other stuff from mother's sorrow, plague doctor and night mother... Now my question: do you already have any video online or something like that where I can see what traits are the best on weapons and gear of mother's sorrow, plague doctor and night mother? Because I was planning on selling them but I also need gold... Cuz, you know... Researches :D Or maybe you can just tell me what I have to look out for - like I'm always keeping divine MS gear, precise and infused MS Flame Staffs... But after that my knowledge leaves me :\ Please illuminate me ;D
Fairly new to the game but I’m 200 CP and got my two 5 pc sets, Law of Julianos and Mother’s sorrow on my front bar, then went and tried to parse on a frost atronach in my guild and I was hitting like 10K. Seeing how most people say you need at least 20 before you should consider Vet dungeons i was mortified, now im seeing the dummy makes a big difference
Haha great video man, funny I did my first parse the other day and got 12k as well! Managed to get it to 18k but then found out there was a lot wrong with my build. Where do you find the big parsing dummy that gives you the buffs and things or do you have to buy it?
@@LuckyGhost Oh that must be the expensive one I seen in the purchase tab! Dam should of spent a bit more as I got the second dearest one. Thanks for the reply man!
10k per 100cp levels??? I’m nearly 500cp and still only doing 12k damage T_T I wonder if it’s because I don’t have the potions or i need to redo my champion points
@@ZeraKonno You're not alone man. I've been playing for years and I was extremely stubborn about wearing what I wanted and using what I wanted. It held me back so much on dps. The best advice I can give is dont be stubborn or attached to sets or skills. Theres a very good reason why sets and skills are recommended in ESO
Hello. Thank you for the video. Is this your main character? Advise build on pve stamina necromancer. I'm currently playing on your necromancer solo build. I would like to be effective in group content as well.
Don't worry, you're hitting much more than a large majority of players. Unless you want to be part of an elite guild or you are aiming for leaderboards, 63k is more than enough!
Same lol. Hitting inconsistently between 63-67 on the trial dummy but now that I know about the trial dummy with buffs and everything I feel like I'll be much more able to work on it. Before I was just parsing on the 6mil dummy with no buffs or anything and struggling to break 35k wondering how on earth people do 90k+ but now it at least seems possible to get there, understanding that the 90k is with that dummy specifically
@@Pieru555 thank you for the kind words! i'm not looking to hit ridiculously high numbers but i do still wanna improve more. it would be nice to get the vet achievements in trials.
@@AwkwardCheesecake oh yeah i feel you. the cp change shocked me since my parse drastically lowered and it took several tries for it to come close to what it used to be again. it is nice to know that there's always room for yourself to improve though
what I want to know is if alcast's builds are good. cause I base most of my class builds off of what he suggests and occasionally I make a few minor tweaks so the build is to my liking. on my stamina nightblade dps for example I run his second setup since I can't get my hands on trials gear because no one will take me through trials. so for my night blade, for jewelry I have the briar heart set with the bloodthirsty trait and weapon damage enchant. for my weapons I have dual wield briar heart daggers one with a flame enchant with the charged trait and the other with a poison damage enchant with the nirnhoned trait. for armor I have the hundings rage set except for head and shoulders. all of which have the divine trait with a stamina enchant. and since I didn't know what monster set to use I looked it up and alot of people recommended the kra'gh set. same traits and enchant as the hunding's rage set. my mundus stone is the thief. as for my back up weapon it's just a bow, I need to get the thunderous volley bow but haven't been lucky enough to get it yet so for now I just settled with the longclaw's bow. as for the abilities I use, on my front bar i use surprise attack, relentless focus, killer's blade, deadly cloak, and dark shade. ultimate on this bar is flawless dawnbreaker, mainly just for the slayer passive and banish the wicked passive. backbar is endless hail, twisting path, barbed trap, leeching strikes, and resolving vigor, ultimate for this bar is incapacitating strike and I have all passives for each of the associated skill lines except for siphoning (missing magicka flood and soul siphoner), fighter's guild (only bounty hunter I'm missing. cause I don't want to go to cyrodiil period.) and the assault skill line. cause those aren't needed since I'm mainly a pve player and the passives in the assault tree don't benefit me outside of pvp haven't really used potions other than crown potions or stamina restore potions. food I use is kwama egg omelets cause a friend crafted a bunch for me. I would think tho despite some of those minor set backs I would still deal good dps but the highest I've ever gotten is around 15k on one of the 3 million health target dummies. specifically the khajiit skeleton dummy. so can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Stamplar here. I have rally in backbar and Camo Hunter in front, which means I always have major sav and brut. What kind of buff potion should I use instead? Or should I switch out those skills and use the potion?
Usually if you can afford the potions its better to switch skills and get those buffs from potions, especially when you need more damage. But those can be expensive so you can keep those skills for casual stuff.
@Lucky Ghost I have been weaving light attacks between abilities since doing the tutorial. It made sense to do it so I never had any issues with weaving. I got better at maintaining dots during that parse but I didn't really struggle with it much as it also just makes sense to use the ability that does 20k over time before the ability that does 8k instantly. I just went to the dummy for 5 minutes and the number I got was 48k. I haven't done a trial either, that's just using the same rotation I've been using in rnds.
Whats the point of having parse gear if you only use ot for parsing how is it a accurate representation of what you will do in game with the real sets or should i be going into vet trials with parse gear
Lol..all the ESO jargon. 50 percent of the players, I suspect higher, are older players and don't use or understand all that slang. Yes..we understand the basics Can you imagine if you call my company and needed help with an issue and all during the call I used my companies jargon to help you! Would you understand? It would look like this( oh you came to the right dept Im a LS TM and Let me check to see if that Surepost went through or if I need to complete LTL for you for the one package or intercept on the ground for the other) Your channel is the bomb! Just pointing this out!.
Question: Most of the sets that are good for doing dungeons require that you run a shitload of dungeons to actually get them to drop. How do you get out of this catch-22? Especially if you need to run group dungeons solo because you don't have friends who play ESO to group with.
farm the gear in normal difficulty, they are generally pretty easy that way and you should be able to get through it well enough to get it. feel free to start with my starter sets on my builds , as those are generally easier to get
@@LuckyGhost Guess I just suck then. I can do normal questing and delves just fine, and public dungeons if I'm very careful about what I pull, but I get melted in second by world bosses and group dungeons. Got absolutely trashed by the bosses on tempest Island, for example.
@@nralbers You don't go in alone for starters. Even normal dungeons are meant to be played by 4 players. Especially as a beginner. Let the Tank take the beating, there is no reason to get melted as DPS
Damn, I learnt a tonne here. Just small stuff I have overlooked that have been adding up to make me stink. Like the 5 pre-Trials martinis may not be helping. Note: potions go into character not player.
for nightblade merciless resolve is a great skill, light attacks proc it, so u want forget to light attack. For beginner players I recommend nightblade there good at stam and magic builds. The magic builds are very simple to use. Stam dps is harder than magic dps.
5:43 that staff you posted here, isnt the infusion pointless since the global enchantment cooldown is 5 seconds and the enchantment lasts for 5 seconds? Wouldn't literally anything else have been better here? I've only been playing for a couple of weeks so maybe theres something I dont understand here. Edit:.....wait, does it double the effect by having 2 overlap?
infused weapon enchant procs continuously from the back bar if you have the right ability back there constantly retriggering it, giving you near 100% uptime on massive dmg increase
I'm new an still not sure what jewelry sets. IV made 9 toons for doing writs an they are starting to reach Level 30. Was wondering if you have a guide on this. Like best set for heal or tank ect. If not would be a good video to make. Keep up the awesome work bro you rock.
Is 50k at around 400cp doing okay? I have tried several parses and cannot seem to push it much higher than that. I know my weaving could be a bit better but I am on xbox so it is sometimes hard to tell what my light attacks per second are at.
I've spent a total accumulated 9 days total on my magicka necro and I still dont know what im doing on it. I mythiced my entire mother of sorrows gear and 2 rings, leads me to only have about 50% spell crit. Should I be hunting down Medusa light armor from Arx corinum? I've been running it for the inferno staffs.
I've been watching your videos to help recap since rejoining the game. Just subbed too, I didn't notice it much in other videos I don't think, but the fade ins/outs of your voice mid sentence/section are kinda jarring here. Still, great content! Keep it up!
Lucky you GOT me to come back and thank you so so much .... but i need to know if it would be better to get the pre order for Blackwood or Clockwork DLC... Please Lucky i need help
You LA and a millisecond later you use your ability then wait around 0,8 seconds because you are on global cooldown then repeat. It goes like this: TAP, TAP - PAUSE - TAP,TAP - PAUSE - like a heartbeat
i don't really do rotation in pvp. it's not really a situation that works with pvp. Also, how does LA weaving work with range? I also dont do arena weapons. Maelstrom cripples my hands and its just not fun. The rest of your tips are extremely useful and appreciated.

Great video. TONS of helpful info for newbs like me. Thank you.
Depends how you build your char. All of the highest parses (100k dps on a 21 million trial dummy ) only light attack
@@LuckyGhost That's exactly what I'm saying: It depends on your build.
Thanks for always being informative!
Love the content bro thank you fro all the suggestions and help, definitely earned the sub.
Yeah console is prob laggier too. My button presses don’t even register sometimes.
@@Elvira27 I do the same with my laptop.
Another Great Addon.... Weave Delays, it will tell you whether or not your early or late or missed LA's plus also lets you know your uptimes on skills and delays
Very Helpful Tips, Thank You Much. I Greatly Appreciate Your Videos!
Great video for new players. Good Work!
it's about time i subbed
Hey Ghost :)
First of: great videos!! Always entertaining and more importantly extremely informative! ;)
I recreated your solo sorcerer build or tbh still trying to get all of the stuff :D
I got all mother's sorrow parts you recommended in divine but like you probably already guessed - I got a lot of other stuff from mother's sorrow, plague doctor and night mother... Now my question: do you already have any video online or something like that where I can see what traits are the best on weapons and gear of mother's sorrow, plague doctor and night mother? Because I was planning on selling them but I also need gold... Cuz, you know... Researches :D
Or maybe you can just tell me what I have to look out for - like I'm always keeping divine MS gear, precise and infused MS Flame Staffs... But after that my knowledge leaves me :\
Please illuminate me ;D
Yes I have a written guide linked in thrdescription of each build with all the traits :)
I usually pars on the regular skeleton dummy because in my pog groups I get tanks that run ebon/Leaching, and a healer with sanctuary most the time :)
sorry for the noob question but can you have 1 potion & 1 food active at the same time...do bonuses stack or at least work at the same time?
Yes they stack. Always have food on
Food stacks with potions but not drinks. Basically pick a food or a drink with a potion.
Nice job, LG. Have you done anything on the best food and drink to make?
right now lava foot for stam, ghastly eye bow for mag :)
2nd time your vid has been superior in explanation and more helpful so I subbed and liked and all that full support g. Love u
Thanks man!
Did you update your stamnecro build? Your skills and gear are different from your last updated build video 😅
another update coming for blackwood!
@@LuckyGhost Nice!! Looking forward to it!
Awesome video! Thanks for the tips!
Haha great video man, funny I did my first parse the other day and got 12k as well! Managed to get it to 18k but then found out there was a lot wrong with my build. Where do you find the big parsing dummy that gives you the buffs and things or do you have to buy it?
Join a guild and use theirs orrr you can buy it from the crown store thats only accessible while you're in your house
On the exact same boat, buddy.
Rotation and light atack weaving. If you're wearing appropriate dps gear, its almost always rotation and skill choices
@@nelson_rebel3907 ah I see then it’s definitely me needing to work on my rotation then
@@ZeraKonno You're not alone man.
I would like to be effective in group content as well.
me, at 900cp hitting 63k: [pikachu face]
@@bannahnah5387 I'm at cp1200+ and hit like the wettest noodles ever 🤣🥲
I just want to know why as a mage am i using destroy staffs instead of dual wield wich gives more damage
what I want to know is if alcast's builds are good. cause I base most of my class builds off of what he suggests and occasionally I make a few minor tweaks so the build is to my liking. on my stamina nightblade dps for example I run his second setup since I can't get my hands on trials gear because no one will take me through trials.
so for my night blade, for jewelry I have the briar heart set with the bloodthirsty trait and weapon damage enchant. for my weapons I have dual wield briar heart daggers one with a flame enchant with the charged trait and the other with a poison damage enchant with the nirnhoned trait.
for armor I have the hundings rage set except for head and shoulders. all of which have the divine trait with a stamina enchant. and since I didn't know what monster set to use I looked it up and alot of people recommended the kra'gh set. same traits and enchant as the hunding's rage set. my mundus stone is the thief. as for my back up weapon it's just a bow, I need to get the thunderous volley bow but haven't been lucky enough to get it yet so for now I just settled with the longclaw's bow.
as for the abilities I use, on my front bar i use surprise attack, relentless focus, killer's blade, deadly cloak, and dark shade. ultimate on this bar is flawless dawnbreaker, mainly just for the slayer passive and banish the wicked passive.
backbar is endless hail, twisting path, barbed trap, leeching strikes, and resolving vigor, ultimate for this bar is incapacitating strike and I have all passives for each of the associated skill lines except for siphoning (missing magicka flood and soul siphoner), fighter's guild (only bounty hunter I'm missing. cause I don't want to go to cyrodiil period.) and the assault skill line. cause those aren't needed since I'm mainly a pve player and the passives in the assault tree don't benefit me outside of pvp
haven't really used potions other than crown potions or stamina restore potions. food I use is kwama egg omelets cause a friend crafted a bunch for me. I would think tho despite some of those minor set backs I would still deal good dps but the highest I've ever gotten is around 15k on one of the 3 million health target dummies. specifically the khajiit skeleton dummy. so can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Lucky about how much dmg am I missing if parsing without food? Can you do a short video maybe showing the gap or loss?
What armour styles are those?? Looks amazing
What's the intro music?
Hey Miracle! (love your work btw!) That would be Streambeats - Killjoy's Chicken ua-cam.com/video/fHoQUCyQvVs/v-deo.html
@@LuckyGhost Awesome, thank you! I love your vids too mate, helped me out big time when I got back into ESO this year :)
Should I have separate ability bar setups (front as well as back bar) for solo and aoe targets? I dont feel I have enough Ability slots for both
Been waiting on dis👀
"I can see it in your eyes" but I can't see it in yours O_O
First person to explain how magicka pool is related to damage
Stamplar here. I have rally in backbar and Camo Hunter in front, which means I always have major sav and brut. What kind of buff potion should I use instead? Or should I switch out those skills and use the potion?
You could run heroism pots to generate ultimate. Or drop rally and use weapon power pots.
Usually if you can afford the potions its better to switch skills and get those buffs from potions, especially when you need more damage. But those can be expensive so you can keep those skills for casual stuff.
You don't need camo hunter since the stamplar jab morph give major savagery. Since it's your spam it's gonna be up all the time
I’m using hundings right now. What is a better parse set? I don’t have any relequins armor yet.
anything will be better than hundings almost, its a great starter set but briar, new moon acolyte, leviathan, tzogvin and rele will all be better :)
Hai what’s your bow called the motif and your hood ?
I took your advice and parsed on a dummy at my guild house for the first time. is 48k good? I started playing 2 weeks ago.
yeah thats a fantastic start
Subscribed. Keep up the good work

right now magplar parse sets would be zaans, mother's sorrow, siroria with maestrom inferno on back bar :)
Dude, thank you so much for this video.
How are you getting consistent crits? And hitting for 10k plus per attack?
follow any of my builds and you'll do the same no problem. its a combination of gear and passives mostly, with bit of cp to top it off
@@LuckyGhost your videos have already made my templar healer hit 38k damage but I want mooore lol
I'm on my first character, a magika sorcerer build at cp 120
@@nralbers You don't go in alone for starters. Even normal dungeons are meant to be played by 4 players. Especially as a beginner. Let the Tank take the beating, there is no reason to get melted as DPS

Damn, I learnt a tonne here. Just small stuff I have overlooked that have been adding up to make me stink. Like the 5 pre-Trials martinis may not be helping. Note: potions go into character not player.
How do I find these parse dummies? thanks so much for all the great vids!!
you can use the one in a friends or guilds house, or buy them in the cash shop from the menu in your house (f5)
@@LuckyGhost ahh thanks had no idea
for nightblade merciless resolve is a great skill, light attacks proc it, so u want forget to light attack. For beginner players I recommend nightblade there good at stam and magic builds. The magic builds are very simple to use. Stam dps is harder than magic dps.
Nightblades are NOT beginner friendly. Especially not Stamina. Roll a Templar instead.
Do you think master architect could compete with siroria
Do you use culossus on your stamcro as your main ult? Mines stuck at 77k but I think its because im an Imperial or because I run rele and deadly lol
I use colossus in content, but flawless dawnbreaker while parsing because the dummy already has major vuln :)
@@LuckyGhost Thank you! :)

Thats great I always tell people to aim for 10k dmg per 100cp (most will cap out around 90 to 100k dps)
Medusa doesn't drop light armor, it's a heavy armor set which is why mag dds run jewelry/weapons.
