I also got an I’m back for AS Math rn
At 38 mins you include the constant when factoring out the -3. I do it slightly different and just keep that constant separate and as +2. Leave it alone and outside thus:
-3(x²-4x) +2
-3[(x-2)² - 4] +2
-3(x-2)² +12 +2
-3(x-2)² +14
Then no tricky fraction to work with and it comes back together later.
Hope this makes sense.

At 11:04, isn't k= -2? Since you're taking -3 from the left side and dividing it on the right one? How does the minus sign disappear?
From 6 - 3k = 0, I add 3k on both sides to give me 6 = 3k, which leads to k=2 :-)

At 45:25, you get x as 3/4, but I ended up using the Discriminant method of b^2-4ac, and so I ended up with:
(24)^2 - 4(16(10-k)
And then 576 - 640 + 64k, so taking both values to the other side (640 - 576) gives me 64
Now that gives me 64k = 64 , and so I get x as 1 instead of 0.75, is that right or wrong?
Hmm you haven't made an arithmetic error somewhere? Should lead to the same...
Hey so the value of 1 you got is the value of k, you're supposed to then substitute it into 16x2-24x+10=k which will lead to 16x2-24x+10-1 =0 giving you 16x2-24x+9 and then you solve this quadratic equation for x giving you 0.75 as your single root, hope this helps
