Sadly, it was not mom who wrote it. It was a son who Lori has claimed these words from. I never asked for a penny. But a slight bit of hope would be nice. I did not know I was helping Lori with my words when I offered them to Tim. And I don't mind much. I gave him the words out of being humble and kind. Can't name how many have called me a liar for claims of songs I have written. And now I'm sick while death approaches. I wanted to show my 10 year old boy who is autistic that truth and honor matters for something. Instead, I feel lost as I will be leaving him nothing except memories. Personal injury got in the way of my dreams. But, at least someone got a house while I live in a hotel room on a disability check. Hard to stay humble and kind sometimes, but I try to honor Mom and Dad and the Lord. Bugs me some to hear someone claim my words as thier own, but hey, not everyone has to fail. Love you Lori, who ever you are. Still loving you Tim. My times nearly over, it so it feels. KEEP ON TRUCKIN, SIR.
Saw the commercial "PassItOn", and said I have to look up this song. When I saw that initially only Tim McGraw coming up, I was like wait a minute. Glad that I found Ms. Lori's though. Her calm soothing voice, man oh man. As far as the commercial it's self, if only.
WOW!!! What words can be used to express ones feelings for this incredible song and artist!! Truly love this amazing expression of life.. Thank you Lori for such a precious gift!!!
You are welcome, only my name is not Lori. I like to call myself Gentle. I was 19 when I shared this lyric with time during a ride to Tennessee. I'm 52 now. God bless Lori whoever she is. I hope I'm not getting Tim in trouble by saying these things. It's good to know my song writing is fair enough though.
I am a 67-year-old man who completely loves rock ‘n’ roll, especially classic… But this is my favorite song🎶❤ I don’t usually like country because it sounds fake to me but Tim McGraw like Merle Haggard and a few others comes across as legitimate… I hate to be critical, but I’m just being honest.
@@adriennegulyassy757 I did my own guitar arrangement in open position to suit my voice, but wanted her feel and approach rather than the hit. I have the same model Collings guitar.
My mom is an elderly preacher's wife- and enjoys music. I have played John Pryne, Jeffrey Foucault, Gillian Welch, Kate Wolf, Caitlin Canty, and a few country tunes. Also John Newton's masterpiece. My view of the world is Humanistic, so the lines calling yourself worthless are obviously unhealthy. Reading the whole Bible, plus a Calvinistic schooling are the most reliable possible way of making atheists, but I recognize his poetry as OK, and his music as masterful. It's kind of fun to play with the guitar accompaniment and variations. Which is leading up to: I MUST learn and arrange this song!!! I think it has no less artistic merit than "Amazing Grace."
Wow. Opinions vary. Yours blows my mind. But you nailed it when you mention the Holy Bible. The lyric came from my parents teaching me as I grew. It based on Gospel truth and love. Personal experience and hope. Amazing Grace is one of my all time favorites. Thank you for such a comparison. I never imagined. My heart leaps. I'm Gentle. Nice to meet you. I'm the guy who actually wrote the song. Errr the words.
Wonderful song, Lori. Those who also love the song should check the video by Bob Minner, Tim McGraw’s guitar player. He does an acoustic version of the song that captures its beauty without ever singing a word. Check it out, you’ll be glad you did!
❤❤❤❤❤❤...... Words can't express
Always had to be a mother who wrote this wonderful song of advice… thank you Lori.

Man, Lori is the real deal. Gorgeous lyrics and a stunning voice to boot.
Fellow guitarist right here. And if I’m lucky enough to be blessed with children, this is going to be my lullaby for them.

incredible songwriting, performance, and voice. beautiful music.
I like her version better. That commercial brought me here. It’s how people should live their life.
Who could dislike this. Makes you wonder!
Was lucky to chat with the singer songwriter on line. Lori is her own song. Humble and kind 😌
I love this song it reminds me that I am a child of Love and to think God almighty everyday.
Rips my heart out
Thank you. I will keep writing more for you then.
Actual writer here.
I'm learning the song and decided to go to the source. So glad I did. Wonderful!
None of the tabs out there show Lori’s actual way of playing her great song. Good for you!

@@mitchgreen2249 Ah, sweet. Great sounding guitar.
@@adriennegulyassy757 Not only is it sweet sounding, it's cooperative and offers less resistance than my other guitars.
@@mitchgreen2249 That's great! Did you set it up yourself, have someone do it for you, or just go with the factory setup?
A lovely lady with great songs
Love this song

What a wonderful person.
What a beautiful song; What a beautiful voice!

Liddy Clark owns this song hand down
Starts at 3:28
Does anyone know what tuning she’s using here? DADGAD perhaps?
I'm glad she sent this song to Tim McGraw; it's a terrific song & message, he made it sound much more beautiful.
Sadly, she did not. I made it up in about 10 minutes while giving Tim a ride to Tennessee.
What kind of guitar is she playing?
Its a Collings OM. Prolly got it from the Music Emporium.
Beautiful song, Beautiful soul. Sat there at her kitchen table and wrote this incredible song. Makes me feel closer to Jesus , when I hear it. ❤
Except, not her words. Mine.
Tsk tsk Lori. You should know better than to claim someone elses wordsas your own.
