Advance Wars Dual Strike Jugger's Theme (Extended)

- Yeah! Time for one of my favorite COs from Dual Strike! Jugger, the robot that will totally smash your face with his Super CO Power! (Or completely botch it!)
Prepare for mega hurtz!
If there's one thing....that I hate...it's when people think Jugger...is Flak! Stop that! Flak is a strong arm muscle head that is just a...what was his rank..? Jugger is a robot that speaks in literal computer language.(not lingo) He's a bit more competent, funny, and part of the Bolt Guard!
Now...I don't necessarily dislike Flak (after playing AW 2 again), I just don't like comparing the two. They just have the same CO Powers...
Anyways! Jugger is awesome and so is his theme! I like playing as him and he really wrecks up the enemy with his Super CO Power! I pretty much like all the Bolt Guard, so I tend to use him with Koal or Kindle. Muahahaha!
Image/Music not made by me, just extended~
You wouldn't think a robot seemingly so intensely devoted to logic would rely so much on random chance.
It's just his coding.
If X < 100, deal less damage
If X > 100, deal more damage
If X = 100, deal normal damage
Then what's X? No idea, I'm not a coder.
Devanor X=random(x)
are you red from pallet town ?
damage = random();
hit(damage);
define random() {
return 4;
}
Devanor x is a term in basic algebra. It is called a variable. In this case its a random number the computer rolls when attacking.
*Desert receding. Green fields returning. Omega Land rebooting. Jugger experiences wistfulness. Jugger misses...sand.*
I don’t know why they busted out characterisation for him in the last minute of the game😂
Jugger's Super CO power is the equivalent of running around in an FPS game, shooting everywhere while spinning, and getting headshots every so often.
No, it actually helps a lot, bad luck shots are rare both with Flak and with the Jugger unit, usually their powers are devastating, I have never seen infantry deal 5 damage to medium tanks, so it’s the equivalent of using a perfect tactical scheme that must be carried on without errors, that might still happen, though (bad luck shots)
@@java20422 Nell can do that, and way better cause her good luck stat is bigger than Flak's and Jugger's so she can deal more damage and without the bad luck.
@@donuts7607 yeah... Nell's power is op
"Good shot mate!"
@@java20422 so basically it’s a well put together plan…..with little room for improvisation or error
I swear, if Flak wasn't in Dual Strike, I would've just believed this was him robotised.
Since Flak never appears in the actual story and only in VS modes, it could be reasoned that Flak isn't 'canon' to Dual Strike and therefore could still be Jugger.
Well since Jugger is liek a cyborg, they could have him copy Flak power. You know since Flak only got Brawneover Brain, so Jugger is Black Hole answer to replace him
the whole game i was waiting for jugger to be just flak in disguise since they are basically the same thing.
This gamer out here looking like a Yu-Gi-Oh monster
Omg I can’t Unsee this
I would change him to where he does exact damage ignoring the opponents defense entirety (including defense stars) however he cant deal more damage even during his co power and his luck modifier is always 0
His co powers would change
Firewall : +20 defense
Reboot: +2 hp on all units + firewall
Now hes a defensive wall that doesn't care where you are ,with his great accuracy he will always find a weak spot in your ranks
This would make him rise to B or C rank probably
If Dual Strikes gets a remake I hope jugger gets reworked in a similar way you described it: that's a great way to differiate him from Flak and make him a *Jugger* naut
I honestly just want him to go full random mode and make a random roll for both his attack power _and_ defense.
That way he would be the ultimate RNG CO!
Sometimes his units would do no damage but be literally unkillable, sometimes they’d deal massive damage but get obliterated in response, sometimes he would do no damage AND have tanks made out of paper and sometimes he’d just get freaking plot armor on his units, dealing insane damage and taking none.
It would be absolute craziness, which I’d be all for!
@@MrxD-cg5xs tbh that sounds like Flak needs it more as Flak is kinda trash, and also Flak is kind of worse than Jugger already
@@fishyfishyfishy500akabs8 Flak is probbaly better than jugger because he's more consistent than jugger, sure jugger can hit harder occasionally but he is has a chance to hit less hard, like they both suck but flax is better because of his consistency
@@nagisashingetsu4274 Jugger has a greater chance of actually being a different character than baseline.
I would say Flak's downside is debatably worse since his lows are less low but his highs honestly aren't that much better than Andy's.
Jugger's theme has this feel of an enemy who wants to be taken seriously, but not a single person sees any reason to, despite its trying it's best to be intimidating.

Von Bolt is pathetically weak as a final boss. His powers are not quite suited for that scenario, and are still much weaker compared to Sturm's.

I think that Flak is attacking Macro Land while Jugger, a CO with similar capabilities, was assigned to attack Omega Land. Same with Adder. That's because they needed to attack Omega Land and Macro Land at the same time. But they focused efforts on Omega because they already lost in Macro. So in order to keep the team balanced, they used similar COs.
Then how do you explain Colin, Grimm and Jess appearing in the campaign of dual strike?
@@kamilslup7743 I personally think certain COs are deployed either in Cosmo and Macro Land to defend them from Flak and Adder while the remaining COs fight in Omega Land. I think Sami just got into the campaign of DS because she was probably done defending Macro or Cosmo Land.
Either Andy or Sami in either Cosmo Land or Macro Land
Either Olaf or Grit in either Cosmo Land or Macro Land
Either Kanbei or Sonja in either Cosmo Land or Macro Land
Either Eagle or Drake in either Cosmo Land or Macro Land.

Poor Flak.
My lovely egg shaped witch I will make in life
I think the issue is that it's difficult to distinguish Flak's and Jugger's strength since the luck varies. For me, it's only when they start using their SCOP, where Jugger has a chance for either an even greater damage or lower damage that's worse than chicken's peck on steel. It's hard to tell who's worse, but even then, I don't care, because when I see my expenseive, healthy units destroyed due to their SCOP, I cry in both cases.
Their differences lie largely in how they use their powers.
Jugger wants to use Overclock more than System Crash since he has a 3/7 (star) meter.
Flak wants to use Barbaric Blow more often than Brute Force since he has a 3/6 (star) meter.
Aside from that, Jugger's variance is greater by a margin of +5/-5, which is almost unnoticeable in normal play.
Depends on your units. Jugger's super plus a lot of full HP infantry can be extremely cost effective.
Flak's strategy is to assume you'll always get a low damage luck roll in your exchanges - but be ready to pivot in the event you land a crit. For this reason a good Flak player will use a pretty balanced assortment. Forming an early game death-ball gives Flak the best chance of winning... Once you get to the late game (bombers, fighters, rockets, etc.) he'll struggle a lot so you want to basically seal the deal while still in the light tank-artillery-battle copter phase.
basically, they are almost identical but Jugger is slightly more extreme in all regards.

Jugger is much more dangerous than flak. I read his wiki and my gosh. I guess that's the reason why his recons are so powerful against my medium tanks.
Not really. Jugger can hit 5% harder but he can also hit 5% less than Flak, he just have a larger dispersion, making him less consistent. Both are terrible if you compare them to Nell, btw.
Lana Mangoose or anybody else because they all have luck modifiers now :[

So, people are telling me that Jugger isn't Robo-Flak but a new, Independent character, and I really understand why you guys think that they're different characters. But in mission 24 in AWDS, Black Hole deployed a battleship in the north. And where did they deploy it exactly? INSIDE A F*CKING LAKE! And we all know there is only *ONE* CO in the world who knows how to place a battleship inside a lake! That's it. Now nobody can't deny the proven fact that Jugger has to be Flak. If you still try to say something else, you obviously have to be stupid or redo AW2 and DS ;D
I think it was a reference to that mission in AW2.... or that they just wanted to have a battleship there but didn't want to connect it to the ocean.
Remember that mission in AW2, where Drake manages to get his fleet surrounded by Hawke's troops?
Executive Sonda Silence Sonja... eh, Sonda, great Kanbei has spoken! It's decided: Jugger is Flak, and no one else!
Of course they only placed the battleship inside the lake cause they couldn't place it on land, but it's just as much a proof for Juggers identity as "he has more luck than Flak". It really is all up to your personal taste - but it's a lot more funny that way ;)
+ComRidleyW but seriously said, i wonder what happened to flak and adder?
Executive Sonda Well, that's the question everyone asks. Personally, I think they got cut out of the games story mode due to... whatever made Dual Strike Dual Strike, most likely time issues, and were simply replaced by Jugger and Koal (I still guess they weren't meant to be Flak and Adder clones, but somehow the development of DS struggled and had to rush them into the game - seriously, even their CO description is copied from their ancestors). But aside from some of the developers, no one can say for sure what happened to them.
I always assumed that Flak and Adder were the ones attacking Macro Land.
Such a great theme
My highest scores have been with this...guy?
probably my favorite guy in the totally flakked comic series.
too bad advance wars net shut down :c
Advance Wars Net ?
Metal Gear?
this theme sounds sooo good
malevolent and robotic assault music
I'd rework Jugger to be more oriented toward relentless assault and ignoring his troops' health due to how his character often orders to attack or just abandons his soldiers when he loses.
Day to Day: Battle Analysis, Jugger can exactly determine how much damage will be dealt including luck roll meaning a 65% damage won't be between 65 and 75 but exactly 65.
Power (3 Stars): Stim Shock (a bit experimental) Damages all of *his* units by 1 but gives them +1 move, +30% Firepower and 10% Defense (for a total of +40%FP/20%DEF due to the Power bonus)
Super Power (7 Stars): Overheat, Damages all of *his* units by 1 but gives them +2 move and +50% Firepower and 20% Defense (for a total of +60%FP/30%DEF due to the Power bonus)
Now I know it wouldn't be the most exciting changes in the world but it would be at least a bit closer to what Jugger seemed to be in the campaign.
His super could be nerfed to a 2HP Damage or 8 Stars if it's too strong but given how expensive it is and the fact that he has no Day to day bonus damage or defense I don't think it would be that strong compared to other COs with actual day to day bonuses.
Roger, roger.

+Derek ??? cool

Yeah, some kind of alien-looking, WWII-inspired radar receiver or otherwise data transmitter
??? ??? LMAO
I noticed that Jugger and Flak are really good at finishing off enemy units when they are outnumbered. If you can use a weakened mech to take an enemy tank down to 7 hp, you can use Overclock to use a tank with 10 hp and it will kill the enemy tank with 7 hp. I've heard that the code is just an RNG, but the character description mentions "dispersion rate" and I wonder if it has anything to do with unit HP.
So in Advance Wars, every character is effected by luck. Luck is an RNG chance of doing a little extra damage ontop of the listed value. The easiest example would be a Battle Copter doing 95% damage on a Transport Copter. The tiny bit of luck can add an unlisted 5% or more, which is why sometimes that 95% still leads to a copter doing 100%+ damage and taking down the T copter.
Among the COs, Nell, Sonja, Flak, and Jugger are effected even more by luck. Nell has increased luck, allowing her to do even more extra damage ontop of the listed percent, Sonja has bad luck which can reduce her chances of doing extra damage or even reduce her total damage. Flak and Jugger have both good luck and bad luck so they get the best and worst of both worlds. They can either get good RNG with no bad luck and max good luck and destroy units in improbable scenarios (like an infantry doing heavy damage to some tanks). Or they can get the opposite and have say an anti-air fail miserably at shooting down some copters. OR they can get average good and bad luck and get basically no or a minor increase in damage. Its all RNG. You never know how much damage Flak and Jugger will do because of the clash of good and bad luck.
That clash is the so called "dispersion rate".
@@Teknanam well, luck IS reduced with lower HP of the attacking unit

Just a worse flak
Those idiots are referring to stats. The abilities of Jugger are similar to that of Flak, and so that are sometimes referred to as one in the same. This is a misconception. Flak's range of "dispersion" is notably smaller than Jugger's making him a less awe-inspiring version of the glorious Leeroy Juggins.
Perhaps they meant in the Super CO power context. In that case they are still wrong for all the same reasons.
So yeah, declaring Jugger = Flak is the work of the ignorant.
Oh! King Candy. I didn't know you played Advance Wars. And how did you return to normal?
BTW, thanks for that trivia. Anything to help differentiate Jugger and Flak is welcome.
but in Dual Strike, I recalled how folks hated the infamous Jugger/Kindle pair up
Well, On the Stats of Flak and Jugger, they Are similar, BUT, Flak is safer to use. They are both Wild cars. Flak can do 10% more damage or do 10% less. Same with his defense. His powers just raise /lower those two by 10 more. Now Jugger is less safe using. He either does 20% more damage or 20% less. Same with defense, His powers also raise/ lower stats. So Flak is more safe to use but Jugger may be slightly more dangerous / weaker.
