New Ladytron? Here, let me get a vein ready...
Leave off, I'm opiate sick.
for some reason Ladytron's music does indeed have a pleasure seeking effect, same as you I feel the drugs calling(maybe not H XD) from the amazing sound, its special ha
I had no idea a new album by Ladytron was released. What a good day for me :)
Tomorrow is Another Day is just stunning, and I can't tell you how fun Deadzone is to dance to in a big club, especially with video playing. Love love love.
A work of art by Ladytron. Especially obsessed with the last half of the album!
How many halves are there for there to be a "last" half?
@@Qwerty-ks8dn I actually meant from 'Run' and after....
@@korfian257 I know, just kidding...
Whole album's really good. So consistent, even more consistent than Velocifero IMO.
лучшая исполнительница 20-го века, с детства слушаю, а мне уже к 50 лет!!!
OMG the island is such a great song!
Croddle Postus I’ve yet to really be able to get around to listening to the rest of the album, but that one, especially lyrically, is so amazing.
@@Ravenz91 Great song. Maybe my favorite from Ladytron.
Hands up if you remember this music being called 'electroclash'.
I dont and i am almost 50
for a very short time but I think it was referred mostly to bands that didn't use guitars
@@robotype Pretty sure Ladytron sometimes use a guitar.
them and fischerspooner and miss kitten etc
Since it very much resembles the atmosphere of John Foxx and Joy Division, I'd go with the old term: "Post Punk" and Synthpop subsequently.
Thank you for the awesome concert in Chicago, guys!
28:17 Deadzone is my new favorite.
I love this album. I think it's my favourite Ladytron album; first one where I've loved every song.
Yup. Bit surprised to see so many people saying it's too long. To me it's possibly their most consistent effort.
@@mime3761 I perhaps love the second half the most, so I could never say it's too long when I'm looking forward to all those songs at the end.
I'm really loving this album
Perfect album, as always ✨
My second favourite Ladytron album, after Velocifero.
Velocifero was boring, my favorite is Witching Hour and than this one.
@@UltimaOn Velocifero 'boring', r u even human
@@denverpotts3928 Witching Hour being his favorite says it all. Very overrated album, Ladytron's worst by far.
@@UltimaOn Nah, was a really good record, but my favorite is Gravity the Seducer.
SOOO good, I just missed a bit Mira's bulgarian, but this album it's more than I expected, really really strong, and love the lyrics as well, they are turning into something more interesting every time
Another amazing album by the masters!!
Fantastic! I'm loving 'Run' and 'Tomorrow is Another Day' just now.
we are just happy with any NEW ladytron.
I think that It is their best album, my favorite songs Figurine, Deadzona, Horrorscope, The Island and the Mountain....
VERY ABBA-ESQUE HARMONY! 🎶
It's beautiful
Marc, Thanks for sharing. You made my day!
You're welcome, I'm glad you like it!
Sayonara
following along on guitar, these songs are really rewarding to learn, and once you do, they are so fun to solo over :D Thank you Ladytron!
Ladytron is really "Ace of Hz" art
I Lova this new album of the Ladytrons :-)
The Ladytrons are back and stronger than future!!

You don't have to spend, you just have to pretend!

DONE!
@@tontonfranck8620 Then stop being one. Simple.
Seeing the Chicago show on Wednesday. It's been a minute and can't wait. xx
Me too! Didn't realize it's the opener for the tour! Yay, special energy on opening nights.
@@jennywilson1407 Yes! It was a gorgeous show. Cheers, and hope you catch them xx
Until the Fire gets those pedals pressed!
Wow !
Ladytron never disapoint. I'm addicited to this album wtf!
I wish I had kept up with them, this album is fantastic!
They were clearly holding it back with the 3 first singles. The album as a whole exceeded my expectations. Best tracks and beats:
17:16 Paper Highways
28:17 Deadzone
36:49 You’ve Changed
TOTALLY AGREE
when I heard the singles, I thought "well this is good", but then I heard the whole album, and I was like: holy shit this is awesome!
@@nicolaszuniga1881 The Animals is obviously a great song but the beats in Deadzone smashed it to smithereens.
I agree they seemed to have held back. Can you fit 'Figurine' on your list also?
@@CountZero78 Your opinion is just as good as mine: we’re all die-hard fans. I just go for the heaviest beats ‘cause I’m also into hip hop (eg. Run The Jewels, Kendrick Lamar, Alias etc). So let’s include Figurine on our list.
Talking beats, did you know Daniel and Reuben produced 4 tracks for Cristina Aguliera? She didn’t have the balls to include them on her 2010 album ‘cause they would overshadow the rest of the album (she released 2 of them on a deluxe edition later on).
This information is in this interview:

Wspaniała muza. Gratki!
Seeing this live in LA at the end of the month. Sounds heavy and fun.
Thanks MARC, You Da Man!!
Tower of glass.. tomorrow another day
what a great come-back
The gang really sounds like they have gotten back to their roots while still remembering the lessons of their recent albums and Marnie's electro pop excursions. I will definitely get a copy when I get the cash and it is the album of the year so far. #aoty2019
My favorite tracks are Paper Highways, Deadzone, and Figurine. That's only 3, but I'm glad they did something.
Welcome back 🤩
New to this band, this album sounds for me like if Enya & old Metric had a baby lol. Really really cool music, it might sound like if audio is a bit too crushed IMO but fits the vibe of the album.
This album is so good it gave me nostalgia back the time they gave us Velocifero. It sounds essentially like Ladytron, their sonority back there in the first 3 albums is present again.
Deadzone is so strong it makes me dance to it in a dark club with red light flashing through the floor.
Run made me so melancholic, it reminded me the feeling I get when I hear International Dateline, a specific kind of sadness.
I’m so happy they came back with strong tracks again because I’m not a big fan of the previous album tho.
'Tomorrow is Another Day' sounds like a 'Thank you and goodbye' :o(
Ladytron: la perfección melódica y electrónica (nuevamente)
Holy fuck, I had no idea they had new stuff!!!!!!! it's almost a year old!!!!!!
just after some years I see its great album...I guess i was used to previous sound
Love it!
Ladytron its really best !!!
fantastic album
Brilliant
Incredible sounds. Hope it's not the last album from this amazing band.
wow!!!!! Am I dreaming long after 8 years since gravity the seducer? Fantastic!!!!! A piece of art!
Gravity is much better though.
05:36 ♥
This album does not immediately grab you a maybe some of their other work, but it certainly a grower which gets better with every listen. The one thing that stands out is it is arguably the first album that does not have its own defined style. 604, Light & Magic, Witching Hour, Velocifero & Gravity The Seducer all had a particular sound unique to that album. With 'Ladytron' (surely it deserved an original title) it tends to be a 'pick and mix' of the last three album - plus Marnie's solo work - without quite hitting the overall heights of them. I think it would have benefitted by just having one producer and one mixer, as it does have an uneven feel.
Whilst I could say it is the weakest album since 'Light & Magic', this could equally be their 'White Album' so I may have changed my mind in a few weeks time. Ladytron do not make bad records, only good ones and why they do not get decent airplay is one of life's many mysteries. Even 6 Music hardly gives them the time of day, which shows that 6 Music are not as clever as they think they are. In many ways, Ladytron are the modern day Cabaret Voltaire. Could they write a hit? Probably. Would it be a hit? Probably not. Does it ultimately matter? No.
Ultimately it is not about a hit or miss, only good or bad and Ladytron still deserve your attention.
The problem is the UK audience, which never bought the right music and buried a lot of artists, including C Voltaire. I don't know of 6 Music practices but even poor J Peel was helpless to channel the things in the right direction.
I love....tnhs.... so much
Deadzone - best song by a country mile, it's sooooo good. The album gets better as you go through it, second half is very strong. LOVE Paper Highways - it's just great hearing Marnie and Mira together, a real return to their roots
ditto, Deadzone stands out, classic Ladytron
Their New Album Is Very "Lush" And I Love It...
Lush and Ladytron, two of my favorites.
Only as far as the vocals, otherwise it is full of influences from Doors, Liverpool late 70's, Ultravox, Visage, Bowie is missing this time though.
The opening number sounds a lot like Inspiral Carpets, had they been produced by them the end result would have been tremendous.
Regarding the complexity and structure Figurine is definitely the far best song on the album
Wow, a new Ladytron album and a new album from Miki Berenyi's (Lush) new project on the same day...15 must be my lucky number!
I am fucking in love with this alboom
"THE ANIMALS" Climax sounds vocals high chorus Sinthe melody central-Letters GAS Sounds
The coverart reminds me of what 2020 feels like
............LADY💙TRON!!!!!!!!
This is the first time learning of this group. Damn it UA-cam Now I want to buy another Lp
'The animals' - My god, what song is this? what a melody!
Electroepic Force " Until the Fire"
💘
First listen: Deadzone. Deadzone, Deadzone, Deadzone.
Of the singles we've listening to for the past months "The Island" shimmers above all. "Animals" isn't quite as special, but is excellent. "Far From Home" lacks any compelling hook over what is a fairly killer backing track.
Great album! Ladytron is back!!!! Where is it available for download/purchase???

Come to Denver... Please!
For "Paper Highways" the lyric and melody "this world keeps turning if the sun sets to the west" comes from an old song I remember from my childhood. This would be maybe the 70s or 80s. If anyone can remember that song, please let me know. I would very much appreciate it!!
April 2020
The secret service under Obama was the Black Panthers. Feelin gnarly here in the USA to Ladytron.
The album as a whole doesn't really fit my tastes (not saying it's bad---it's just kind of tamed/predictable and feels like a lot of music that functions like background noise) but there are a few songs that are REALLY good.
I was reminded on a watered down Metric. mellow to the point of sleep inducing, but some tracks were catchy
Lacks the soul of Gravity.
bro this album had shit marketing, I am a massive fan and it only now happens that I find out about it
Is anyone else's favorite song Run?
I'm gonna listen to this, before UA-cam takes down this video
One word: torrent.
Three distinct sections, quality-wise. Songs 1-4 are OK, 5-9 are the best ones, 10 onwards weak and boring.
Highlights: The Animals, Run
Next-best: Deadzone
Also good: Figurine, Paper Highways
Crappiest: Horrorscope
Overall a solid album, not a disappointment, but much weaker than the excellent Gravity, their best album by far.
"Crappiest: Horrorscope"? It's their strongest song in at least a decade. At least. Best lyrics post Light & Magic era IMO. I do agree with calling Gravity their best album (see my other comment here above) but Horrorscope's just wonderful. Unless they're planning to go back to Gravity's Vangelis-influenced style, I would definitely love them to expand furthermore in Horrorscope's direction.
oh shit.
Like the album. Dislike the mid track ads.
ANIMALS
What happened to them?
Is this really LADYTRON!?!
Were you expecting more cheesy Kraftwerk beats?
c,mon, they gave us 604, light n magic, witching hour, velocifero, thats a fucking awesome legacy, have you tried being an original awesome artist without repeating yourself its fucking hard, i know
I was wondering the same thing, found out they'd finally released a new album but had release/music biz. issues. I only own the double CD best of compilation, and a few
of their earliest albums, but got into the band around 13 years ago or so, after hearing "17" (omg brain is going! I'm not 17 no mo') on the old new wave modern rock radio station WLIR FM in LI NY, which is now long gone. The last good band they ever played that were worth half a damn!
Never talk to the ballerina palm reader if you don't want to know about your vaguely horrifying future.
Nor snort a line of speed.
Roughly a third of all YT comments involving new music, regardless of band or genre:
This is not as good as their previous albums and I am entitled to quality content at all times.
Also, even when they were good, I did not purchase their albums, for lo, I am a very clever individual for pirating them.
They owe me.
(Oh, why can I never find love, anywhere?)
you nailed it
They do owe a lot of people money and merch
Who, Logan, who?
I seem to believe most decisions to buy t-shirts are largely voluntary.
I understand #FreeWill is somehow involved.
Until the fire is from bad religions second to last album isn't it, can someone point out what song iam thinking about?
As someone who Pledged, listening to this album is bittersweet. They’ve turned their backs on their fans. Pledgers were promised exclusive content, Pledge went bankrupt, and Ladytron went MIA. Fine. It was out of Ladytron’s control, but to go and sell the pledge exclusives at your shows and leave your fans in the dark is a whole new level of douchebaggery. If anyone cares to find out more about this, please go take a look at their Pledge page under updates/discussions. Ladytron could’ve easily fixed this, but instead decided to tell their pledgers they don’t have the items in hand and then go sell those items they “don’t have” at signings and shows.
Oy vey. I only read of this debacle tonight. Sounds like it's time for them to get a better manager and marketing team! Sounds like they were shafted utterly by the Pledge co.,
and had no backup plan. If I can still go buy a legit. copy, I'll attempt to do so, I don't like relying on YTube anyway for a band I really love, need the genuine item. This is why
I don't like the new model of the digital music biz: at least in the old days, with any luck, a good record co. would get your album out all over the fookin' place and push it to radio
and other media. And usually, not go bankrupt just before release. That is absurd.
the album cover, is that 'the forest setting fire to the tourists' or maybe Mira set herself on fire without ME, i wish
Not their strongest album, but decent. Figurine is my favorite song here. I loved their album Velocifero (Tomorrow is my favorite Ladytron song ever), and this one doesn't come close to capturing what that album did to me when first hearing it.
We have the exact tastes.
This is my favorite. I loved The Island.
Does anyone know why the British shows got cancelled? All it said was a "medical emergency'
The 3 gigs were rescheduled, not cancelled. I was going to go to all 3, but now due to work commitments, I'll only get to Edinburgh, but that's unfortunate for myself. Is it really relevant to know why the gigs were rescheduled due to a personal issue? There are some things the general public really don't need to know, and that's why it's personal and more than likely, 'a need to know basis'. You or I, don't really need to know.
Sounds like Helen's vocals are buried behind the sound.
Well, Ladytron is more about the instrumentals with her vocals being a background accent. At least, that's what they've done sine Witching Hour.
Yes they are and personally I love it. Works especially well on "The Animals".
I think they are mixed effectively, not too upfront or buried in reverb either
is it just me, or something is wrong with the sound. like the drums are just badly mixed in?
Pretty sure it's on purpose, took a while to get used to but now I think it works wonderfully.
Second listen: Despite a great intro "Tower Of Glass" : still pish.
Is it just me or is the sound over-compressed, saturated, limiter-smashed beyond recognition? The music is fantastic though.. hope it's just this YT encoding 🤔
I honestly think its a yt encoding thing
If only there was some way to hear this music the way the artist intended. damn.
Is it me or does this new Ladytron album sounds kinda like Garbage's "Strange Little Birds"? As a whole, this album is kind of a 6/10 meh for me. The first half is kinda feels not that Ladytron. Until after the first half of the album is when it really start to take off. Wish they combined this new sound of theirs with "604". They tried new sounds this time, and while I might not be as fond of this style compared to their previous albums, they definitively have some cool tracks here. A little bit more tame, maybe meh, but Ladytron still around.
Just curious, what makes you give it all away/make it available here, but urge us to buy it elsewhere, like how many people are going to do that...and what gives you the right? A brand new album...exposing the artist to new ears, true, but not supporting them at all. Serving ourselves. It seems overly entitled and weird, and really what's behind it?
You have whole albums on your channel?

IMHO a rich man's Witching Hour (somber mood, accessible lyrics, more uptempo / industrial kind of sound), been listening non-stop for a couple days now. Two compaints though: 1) cover art is an eyesore 2) direction they took with Gravity The Seducer was just way too brilliant to make such a dramatic U-turn away from it. Whole album reeks a bit of post-Gravity fan-service. Had they released this in 2008 / 2010 as a follow-up to Witching Hour or Velocifero I would give it an A+, would love it so much more than I do now. As potent as these songs are, Gravity's "Vangelis pop" style makes them sound a bit dated. No wonder my favorite track so far is "You've Changed": left me totally befuddled upon first listen, didn't even sound like Ladytron at first and that's exactly why I love it now: If you really need to go faster, at least try and go new places. At the opposite end of the spectrum, "Paper Highways" is fantastic, supremely catchy, an absolute banger... just as long as you don't realize it's Ladytron. Then it becomes a somewhat lazy, mid-00s sounding, more of the same-ish Ladytron song.
Ease up with the psychoanalysis there Freud, just enjoy the music ffs
These decades too will blur together...a few years and a yen for the tension between the pressure to break new ground, and to stay a course & be true to a certain sound, will fade within the greater history of beauty.
Nothing Freudian or complex about what I wrote. Any chance you're American?
@@mime3761 It was a ridiculous comment to an interesting review- not that I agree with your review necessarily, but to take exception to somebody trying to describe what a piece does to them is bizarre in the extreme.
Anyway, I love Ladytron, and I possibly love this album, but they remain a band who frustrate the shit out of you as often as they thrill.
What?? This is excellent! Our cool ladies are tronning more than ever before!
Good cuts, catchy themes but the songs are too long. This album could have been a solid 35 minutes instead of waiting for 2 minute bridges.
