Some people got it made, some buy it and some earn it - I will give that guy the benefit of the doubt and say he earned. To reach 82 and still be ambitious and forward thinking is a blessing - luck plays a big part too and this guy has been dealt a great hand by the dealer in the sky and he's played it very well indeed! Love New York, gritty and real can't wait to visit again! Nice bit of alternative programming Gary - enjoyed it!!
Thanks Gary for taking us on your journey. You let Elliot talk freely and enlighten us about his wonderful cars and associated stories....the result was priceless. His cars and stories were a treat for all of us. The Dino was a privilege to see, especially in its workshop setting. You clearly both have a shared connection and love for vintage cars. Your videographer was also excellent throughout.
@PeterBren-l6m Exactly, that's why Gary has the best car show on TV be it UA-cam or legacy TV 📺 He's bright enough to understand when you're visiting a friend's collection. You let them do most of the talking because they know more about their cars than you do. These guys roll into someone's private space to interview or just talk cars & spend more time talking. We the audience get zero knowledge from the owners who know these cars inside and out. Shut up & listen: You just might learn something & that's what Gary does so well. Even if he knows it he's there to listen and show his audience around his friend's vehicles.
Ah, brilliant - love these rich conversations you foster 'around' the cars...with Tom, with Elliot and others. They bring a depth to Classic Obsession that you rarely find on other automotive channels. Keep it up, Gary.
Elliot Cuker is a well esteemed gentleman who's perspective on classic cars is paramount. Having him on this show is a real blessing as he's what we call in the business - a connesieur. Great video.
Fascinating guy with an exceptionally good eye for beauty. I instantly recognised his face from the publicity shots of the films he was in. Great rapport between Gary and Elliot.
Jason King had a Bentley Flying Spur in Regal Red in the UK TV series Department S. Architecture on wheels. Alfredino Ferrari designed the original V6 engine Ferrari intended for motorsport , but it was developed for road use by Lampredi, for use in the Dino series of cars , they were named Dino after the late son of Enzo , also to separate them from the V12 Ferraris . The example here , was indeed an early car , having the spinners on the wheels , later banned by the USA, same happened on Daytona , therefore later models having 5 studs . Danny Wildes Dino was on spinners like this example in The Persuaders series. Incidentally, the Aston Martin used in The Persuaders in Bahamas yellow had V8 wheels but was a straight 6 , and the private registration BS1 ( for Lord Brett Sinclair ) was actually borrowed from Billy Smart, him of circus fame . Interesting video , Gary
Excellent Gary. Really enjoyed that..... Elliot has lived a life during some of the most charismatic era's. I suspect that you have made a friend for life there mate....cherish your times with him.
Appreciated! Plenty more on the way so subscribe and pass on to a friend. Almost up to 100 episodes now and some great ones planned for the year ahead. Regards.
All of my childhood in one episode.. the best thing about the Dino.. as a nearly one year old.. I loved standing in uncles 246 GTS.. bought new 73.. and I was new in 76.. I still have memory looking out the back curved window.. I have freaky long memory 😅😂.. I didn’t get to drive one til I was 21 though in 1997👌💪..uncle use to drive me as a toddler from nannas to my house.. no baby seat.. just a cushion
There are some people you can happily listen to for hours without getting bored. You're one of them Gary; Elliot's another. As he said during the film, kindred spirits.
Really enjoyed watching this what a great character Elliot is! WOW some lovely cars too, very jealous of that speedster and the Porsche collection for sale!
Honestly, what a great episode with an amazing guy. Visited that area on a holiday and didn't know it was there. I'll look it up when I'm there next time. Those times will never return. Thoughly enoyed this episode!
Gary, I have to say that’s your best episode yet, love love loved it, what a geezer he is!!!! Keep them coming, I know absolutely nothing about cars but for some reason you make it so interesting & fascinating to watch and listen to, looking forward to a very enjoyable 2025 watching your videos. Regards Simon
Thanks Gary for letting me see this. I could never do that on my own but thanks to you I can sit here at home I Sweden and have this absolutely wonderful experience.
What a collection of beautiful cars and beautiful art Elliot has. Thanks Gary, you’ve taken us on a fascinating journey into his empire with some great conversation, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. That’s a cracking collection of Porsches he has too!
I agree but I think the Porsches in the Magnus Walker episode we did takes the prize. His collection is amazing and none of them seemed as pristine as Elliot’s but all seemed well used and enjoyed. Regards.
Two great guys with a common love story. Old classic cars! I just loved this. I was in New York back in 1974 and thoose streets looked just like how I remember New York city from back then. Been there several times since then, but it is not the same. Thank you, this went straight to my heart!
Gary you have an excellent Channel going on here, it’s different and unique keep it going and I’m telling you it will fly as soon as idiots realize how good it is. I’ve been watching since day one, that dude looks likes the guy of Dempsey and makepiece.
Gary, Being there at the right moment between 2 people means nothing unless both are ready and feel that connection. That was the spontaneity that made this whole thing happen. The last thing I ever expected that moment was you. However towards the end of the shoot I thought you might give me a $50,000 dollar check for my brilliant performance. Expectations have always disappointed me. I apologize for even entertaining that reality. By the way your audiences comments were very touching. More intelligent than most USA comments. Thank them all and please let them know when they come to NYC and visit me that you will pay for their lunch.
What a great video. Really enjoyed your conversation. So much more than the cars. Loved his story about what haunts him after so many years and his view of ethics and honesty. I think we all have skeletons in our past.
Gary, that was an absolutely cracking episode…wonderful. In a way, it was nice not to discuss how much all those cars were worth, but would have been mind boggling! You have a great channel Gary, very enjoyable!! 👍👌🙌
Elliot is a font of all knowledge and influential who is driven by classic car passion! He’s the type of guy you want to have a coffee with and listen to their life journeys! 😎
“I’ll never wear a cap because I’ll never go bald!” I knew it was a wig! Only joking Gary, great video by the way, keep posting ‘em and I’ll keep watching’em.
Great episode. From Wikipedia about Alfredo (Dino) Ferrari: The idea for the engine came from Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, who was the son of Enzo Ferrari. Dino suggested to Enzo Ferrari the development of a V6 engine for F2 at the end of 1955. Soon afterwards, Alfredo fell gravely ill, and he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. While hospitalized, he discussed technical details about the engine with a recently hired engineer named Vittorio Jano. Dino would never live to see the engine; he died on June 30, 1956, at the age of 24.
Absolutely loved that Gary - sat down with a cuppa and a few biccies and watched that willing it not to end. I just love the whole format of the show - this one is a particular masterpice - two blokes chewing the fat walking through an unbelievable collection of motors and exchanging stories and litle details about each motor on the way; so interesting and just brilliant ! Keep em coming - Cheers Stew
What a Great Watch Gary, and what a great guy he was, that Dino was to die for…..great show content and another great view, keep it going Gary, always look for to your shows.
Absolutely love your videos Gary. They are a great way to chill out, always interesting and great presentation . Sit back, relax and enjoy and emerge in a calm state, wonderful! What a great guy Elliott is, so interesting. Thank you mate
Very charismatic gentleman. He should be a motivational speaker, someone that can enrich our own existence, with his stories and anecdotes .....and he's got some of my favourite cars on the planet too. 👍👍👏👏
Another great vid Gary, what a great character, I totally agree, ethics, morality and integrity is key to life, its something lacking in todays society. Appreciate the vid, thanks 👍🍺
Thanks for another great video Gary. Being a New Yorker as well as a car guy I’m quite familiar with Cooper Classics. They always had a reputation for working on the stars cars, and also selling some incredible vehicles as well. I had a mechanic that worked for Cooper and George Haug LTD. (a British car service facility on the east side) back in the day that used to service my Jaguars. I recall there was a mishap with one of Mike Tyson‘s Rolls-Royce’s while it was in for service at Cooper, something about it falling down an elevator shaft.
Thanks Gary for this Top Dino Feature ,Persuaders now super retro with the show and cars now over 50 years old .My next door neighbour here had a surprise 21 st birthday present arrive outside his apartment in HK back in the day (1973) …a brand new 246 from his Grandmother ,still raves about the car to this day ! A trim term I had never heard before was added to my limited vocabulary about forty years ago by a top end Liverpool car trader …mice hair which is the American word for flocked trim ,he was importing these cars from the states hopscotching to Europe .Persuaders cocktail …creole scream …one or two olives ?

Love New York, gritty and real can't wait to visit again! Nice bit of alternative programming Gary - enjoyed it!!
His mother bought a brand new Rolls Royce in Hyannis Port, Cape Cod, in the 1950s. He may well be a smart businessman, but self-made he is not.
Thanks Gary for taking us on your journey. You let Elliot talk freely and enlighten us about his wonderful cars and associated stories....the result was priceless.
