My little Mamie will take one nugget, walk the distance to a house slipper of mine, drop it in the slipper..THEN eat it. Repeats this over&over. She even looks like your cute doggie. ♡♡
He used to take mouthfuls back onto the bed and leave crumbs. He does not do that, anymore - when we are home. We still find crumbs on the bed if we have been out. He meets us at the door all happy and wagging like he is completely innocent.
We'll probably never know. LOL Whatever makes him happy.
Maybe he likes the rug- thinks the floor is too dirty. Our chihuahua doesn’t like to sit or eat on the floor. But it is weird!
My dogs do the exact same thing! 🤷🏻♀️
Mine does too.
Maybe he doesn't like being near the TV. Dogs have much more sensitive hearing. There may be high frequencies you're unaware of.
He will do this do this when the TV is off. The dishes have been under the window and by the table. He still does it.
Toto wants to eat standing with his back feet on the engine "doghouse" and his front feet on the passenger seat. I put towels down.

When he was young, did he have to compete for the food from one bowl?
No idea. We got him from the pound when he was about 2.
