Here's my problem with this as a former atheist, when I was an atheist I didn't like satanism as a means to rebel. Satan, in the literary canon, is a force of evil. Even if you are an atheist, you must recognize evil v. good. You must also recognize that Satan as a symbol is the embodiment of human evil and desires. He is decadence, he is decay, he is evil, just as a literary symbol. Not even going into the religious aspect of Satan that I now hold as a Greek Orthodox Christian. Absolutely ridiculous.
Well you see humans notions of good and evil come from Satan or Say Ten(10/ or one and zero(duality). The true good lies in nonduality, which is Nirvana , heaven, etc. Duality is hell, to be separated from Gods grace of neutral tranquility and sentenced to the eternal conflict of life and death. This is known by the Hindus as reincarnation, but it is also referenced in Genesis when God says we are dust and to dust we shall return, and from the earth we shall be brought forth again. This is how even Christians worship Satan unknowingly and it's why Jesus said many believers will come to him and he will say depart from me

The only way you could make any sense out of this is if the bible was just a random book that didn’t point to anything, but then that would make it not a symbol. At that point, why not tear up any book or even a blank one at that. I guess the bigger point I wanted to make is you can’t extract the symbol from the higher principles that it points towards. They can say that just because they don’t “really believe” in satanism that their enmeshment with satanic symbols voids any claim that they believe it. But, if you routinely and ritualistically engage with a symbolic framework of some belief system, and you also believe that this gives you power over some thing, it’s fairly easy to see that that person is a believer in that thing.

If your doubt is cause by scientific claims like evolution, however, I can tell you that what schools teach and what atheist show on UA-cam is not the entirety of evolution; Kyle has videos on these claims. People mainly believe in evolution because schools only teach evidence for it, and never evidence against it. For example; carbon dating, the method by which fossils are dated, is only accurate up to 50,000 years, as Kyle explains in the video refuting SciManDan, and in the same video, Kyle brings up that we don't have any evidence for the evolution of eyes; they basically just popped into existence fully formed, and the same goes for information in DNA.I really recommend that video. But again, I highly recommend talking to your priest, they will give you better advice than I ever could.

Second, that family member firmly believes in spiritism, reincarnation, and energy. Third, I was baffled when I quoted to that family member Matthew 6:24-26, and the response I got was that family member believes and serves God. No. One cannot profess faith in God and claims to serve God if one: 1. Disbelieves the whole of The Trinity. 2. Professes faith and belief in practices that God prohibits and condemns. To top it all that family member falls into the stereotypical pitfall that most Christians in the West do: God is Love. What I mean is that according to the watered down version of Christianity in America: God is all mercy but dispenses No justice. That family member cannot fathom the idea that God punishes when nations and people go unrepentant in sin. God is love without justice. Honestly, I do not know what kind of lazy, freeloader, and corrupt god that family member claims to believe, but it is NOT the God of the Bible; the one, true, and triune God; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God's love is not based in injustice. The love of God is both mercy & justice. I'm almost done with the book of Genesis, and one of my conclusions drawn from interpreting Genesis that God will never overlook sin ongoing on the earth. God punished Noah's generation with the flood because their evil grew and expanded across the world. God burnt down Sodom and Gomorrah because their unrepentant wickedness became abominations before Him. God inflicted justice upon the sons of Judah- Er and Onan, because their sins were so grievous and chose to keep on commiting evil without repentance. We cannot separate the justice of God from the mercy of God. Mercy without justice paves the way to license that condones and endorses lust, hedonism, apathy, corruption, and crime. Justice without mercy paves the way to vigilantism which in turn opens the door to fanaticism, revenge, acts of hatred, vandalism, discrimination, and genocide.

Here's my problem with this as a former atheist, when I was an atheist I didn't like satanism as a means to rebel. Satan, in the literary canon, is a force of evil. Even if you are an atheist, you must recognize evil v. good. You must also recognize that Satan as a symbol is the embodiment of human evil and desires. He is decadence, he is decay, he is evil, just as a literary symbol. Not even going into the religious aspect of Satan that I now hold as a Greek Orthodox Christian. Absolutely ridiculous.
Well you see humans notions of good and evil come from Satan or Say Ten(10/ or one and zero(duality). The true good lies in nonduality, which is Nirvana , heaven, etc. Duality is hell, to be separated from Gods grace of neutral tranquility and sentenced to the eternal conflict of life and death. This is known by the Hindus as reincarnation, but it is also referenced in Genesis when God says we are dust and to dust we shall return, and from the earth we shall be brought forth again. This is how even Christians worship Satan unknowingly and it's why Jesus said many believers will come to him and he will say depart from me

On a more serious note, there is an interesting idea to examine. I would almost guarantee that why these people say that just because they destroy/mock symbols of Christianity doesn’t mean that they are anti-Christian is because they want to say that just because they worship satanic symbols doesn’t mean they actually believe it. Symbols themselves are things that point toward higher ideas. If the bible is a symbol of Christianity, then by definition tearing up a bible can’t be understood as anything other than anti-Christian. Somehow, they want to work within a symbolic framework that also doesn’t point towards the higher concepts that those symbols represent. The only way you could make any sense out of this is if the bible was just a random book that didn’t point to anything, but then that would make it not a symbol. At that point, why not tear up any book or even a blank one at that. I guess the bigger point I wanted to make is you can’t extract the symbol from the higher principles that it points towards. They can say that just because they don’t “really believe” in satanism that their enmeshment with satanic symbols voids any claim that they believe it. But, if you routinely and ritualistically engage with a symbolic framework of some belief system, and you also believe that this gives you power over some thing, it’s fairly easy to see that that person is a believer in that thing.

"that person is a believer in that thing." we all see it.. But they lack the self awareness to see what high force they are serving.. Pray for them!

If your doubt is cause by scientific claims like evolution, however, I can tell you that what schools teach and what atheist show on UA-cam is not the entirety of evolution; Kyle has videos on these claims. People mainly believe in evolution because schools only teach evidence for it, and never evidence against it. For example; carbon dating, the method by which fossils are dated, is only accurate up to 50,000 years, as Kyle explains in the video refuting SciManDan, and in the same video, Kyle brings up that we don't have any evidence for the evolution of eyes; they basically just popped into existence fully formed, and the same goes for information in DNA.I really recommend that video. But again, I highly recommend talking to your priest, they will give you better advice than I ever could.

Third, I was baffled when I quoted to that family member Matthew 6:24-26, and the response I got was that family member believes and serves God.
No. One cannot profess faith in God and claims to serve God if one:
1. Disbelieves the whole of The Trinity.
2. Professes faith and belief in practices that God prohibits and condemns.
To top it all that family member falls into the stereotypical pitfall that most Christians in the West do: God is Love.
What I mean is that according to the watered down version of Christianity in America:
God is all mercy but dispenses No justice.
That family member cannot fathom the idea that God punishes when nations and people go unrepentant in sin.
God is love without justice.
Honestly, I do not know what kind of lazy, freeloader, and corrupt god that family member claims to believe, but it is NOT the God of the Bible; the one, true, and triune God; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
God's love is not based in injustice.
The love of God is both mercy & justice.
I'm almost done with the book of Genesis, and one of my conclusions drawn from interpreting Genesis that God will never overlook sin ongoing on the earth.
God punished Noah's generation with the flood because their evil grew and expanded across the world.
God burnt down Sodom and Gomorrah because their unrepentant wickedness became abominations before Him.
God inflicted justice upon the sons of Judah- Er and Onan, because their sins were so grievous and chose to keep on commiting evil without repentance.
We cannot separate the justice of God from the mercy of God.
Mercy without justice paves the way to license that condones and endorses lust, hedonism, apathy, corruption, and crime.
Justice without mercy paves the way to vigilantism which in turn opens the door to fanaticism, revenge, acts of hatred, vandalism, discrimination, and genocide.
