Thank you for the hard work put into making this -It is great. Small side note on improvement: for some words the accent diacritic does not match the audio. For example in the word ασημι the accent should be over eta, nor the final iota. Same for ρηχος - stress falls on eta, so the diacritic should not be over omicron
κλεινω means close but the phrase in english is not ''close tickets but reserve tickets'' . if in greek say κλεινω or κράτησε or κράτα its the same, they can understand. english is aa helpful mean but not accurate.
In English, you use the verb to book or to reserve. In Greek ,you use the verb κλείνω 1) to reserve or book something - Κλείνω την πτήση για Μύκονο, or 2 ) to close something - κλείνω το παράθυρο γιατί κανεί κρύο!
Mixed martial arts! Hamster! Ten trillion! Walrus! Penguin! Llama! Panda! Coral! Spatula! Ivory Coast! Snowboarding! Eel! Kuala Lumpur! Bonito!🤣 But still very useful for vocabulary rehearsal! But if you want to learn to speak basic Greek there are a lot of other videos on UA-cam. One of the female voices sounds a bit Albanian, btw.
I didn't even know what overpass meant in English! And when I typed this word into the translator, it turned out that I didn't even know what it meant in my native language! 😂😀🥲
@@matejamartin2199 Like the Western Civilization owes practically everything to Ancient Greece, Arts, Science, Democracy, Politics, Philosophy. The Greek language is widely present in every single European language and beyond European boundaries, what else would you want or need in order to accept and declare the Greek language as the official world language ? OK, Modern Greek is a melange of languages but it's not very far apart from its Ancient roots..
@@Evan.Arapis not trying to start conflict. You got the point. Make sure you say whole world except only for western. Because universities and other stuff are found in Africa and Asia as well.
@@matejamartin2199 Who said anything about conflict, anger or attack ? I am not angry, I just say things like they are, world famous scholars say the same things as me, Greeks have many enemies because they are jealous of our rich and unique culture and of our very beautiful country..
These are hardly all must-know words. Makes the task overwhelming to beginner. And no m/f/n, no articles.... and they are not grouped in any logical way....
Nice to learn the pronunciation but learning random words won't make you speak the language. Would be better with short sentences showing how to use the words. For example the word "fat". One is not sure if it means "grease" or "obese"
1. You are the 'experts' but personally, I don't think memorisation of disparate words is a good nor effective way to learn anything! Especially with the article missing. Doing so will cause learners significant grammar issues and a need for elearning later on when learning to form well-constructed sentences. In fact, I'll go further and suggest that omitting the article is utterly irresponsible. 2. "Buenos Aires", "Niger", "Eel" etc, etc, etc are words every 'beginner should know?? Maybe with a rare exception depending on ones geographical location, I respectfully disagree. You say in the description "This is the best video to get started with the Greek language!" - again - I respectfully disagree. This is a terrible way to begin. There are many far better quality, tools 'for real learning' available than this nonsense. Perhaps if you stop producing 'entertaining' videos for clicks, and start putting your followers' actual learning needs at the top of your priority list, you may see different results. Thumbs down and I unsubscribed.
boy is generaly the boy, the non old man, the young man, you can say boy. boyfriend is a thing of sexual relationship, you can say το αγόρι της, ο φίλος της (its old expression but you understand it from the way, its a kind of joke in greece now. you tell ο φίλος της ή ο ''φίλος'' της with different way) , γκόμενος (its hellenized latin loan but very common) . there are others but they are not for now.
This list is unhelpful, not sorted in to relevance or frequency, with no articles, no example phrases. And you can’t learn Greek this way - you need to be taking on gender, and case so you need context, always. This is like buying hats without a hatstand.
Many useless words for Beginners. Why must I know Pinguin, are there some in Greece ? And Egypt and other muslim countries ? One of the reasons I love Greece is, because it is a christian country and no criminals, no rape, less nudism, many wonderful churches , some in caves to hide from the Turks persecution.I would like short sentences to introduce myself and my familiy and how to order a drink or lunch or rent a room or car and ask for the way, or to buy something. What tourists needs. This is the first step.

Reserve tickets for the theater= κλεινω εισιτηρια για το θεατρο

I want to learn to write ιπποπόταμος in brush script. I love the way it looks. And sounds. 😊
