Really weird that I'm an American and I understood Gareth perfectly, but everyone else is requesting subtitles for him. Usually its the other way around.
I did test drive a 2017 KTM 300 EXC TPI and I found it lacking in power compared to my old Yamaha WR450f so I ended up baying a new European (Norway) 2019 KTM 500 EXC F because I am aparently a power junky :) I am now breaking it in and I find that I actually like having a bike with more rotating mass because if feels more stable and that actually suits my kind of riding :) But something is wrong with it running so lean that top speed is 95Km/h. It is was programmed for full effect and all restrictions removed (If I remove side cover for air filter to give it more air it runs worse and has all classical symptoms of running horribly lean).
is the 500 better suited for the road at highway speeds? my DRZ400 screams at 70 75mph..then gearing it at 15/38 I cant do much technical riding, but can do open simple dirt roads all day
Of course the 500 will excel in open terrain. More testing in tight terrain please. KTM states each larger bike only gains 2 lbs. Did you weight them? 350 vs 500 does the gyroscopic forces come into play? Or just the power.
I just bought a 2019 KTM 500 EXC F after testing a 2 stroke 2017 KTM 300 EXC and found it lacking in power compared to my old WR450f. The 500 feels just as light as the 300 right until you try to make a turn at speed, then you get a surprise when it just wants to go straight ahead because of the gyroscopic force lol :) I did not test the 300 much but the little I tested I did not feel any gyro effect. But the gyro effect of the 500 I kind of like as it feels more stable and suits my kind of riding with few turns on gravel roads. I can very well understand why many want a bike with smaller engine that you do not need to wrestle to make a turn, my advice is you must test it yourself :) If I had not tested it myself I would have bought a 300 2 stroke and found it lacking in power...

How come you really have a good accent good english i know where you from .. but you pronounce the "K" in KTM like in french "ka" in english it's "keh"
Marek - You can always buy aftermarket kicker if you're worried about it. I've had my battery crash a few times on my bike and jump starting it has never been a problem, even by myself.
I was struggling to understand these guys...then Gareth came on. Is that a WA accent? The guy is a bull in a China shop. Look what he did the tents behind him just making his way to the interview.
1. 250 Your first bike. 2. 350 What old men ride who can't hang on to anything bigger. 3. 450 What you bought because you were too pussy to buy the 500 4. 500 the bike you buy when you are a confident rider, containing the pinnacle of 4 stroke engineering as it was intended to be ridden.
Garrett Cooper he’s funny as hell! Doesn’t care what his wife’s gonna say is going to whip out the credit card because obviously has to have one!! And he’ll probably buy one before he gets drunk! Ha ha ha ha!
This was a useless review. Where is the 0-60 of each one of these bikes. And Where is the quarter mile and top end speed. ??? Where is the real performance review of each one of these bikes? What you're talking about as useless information.
Wait until you have to buy a rad cowl or a headlamp for something like a wr250f it would make your eyes water trust me I have one that's why I'm selling it and buying a ktm
I had a Yamaha TT-R 250 way back around 2000. I had to replace the rear wheel bearings and they were $27 each......there were 3 of them in the hub. KTM parts are WAY cheaper
They need to have a dealer day at every motocross/enduro track ,i would even pay a small fee for 15mins to ride a ktm,to see if i would by a ktm or stick to the awesome Japanese bikes. (Keep riding) 👍
"My name is Gareth Cooper and I've been sober all day!" Hahahaha! That guy is great!
Love this comment
5:07 Idk if I was more distracted by not understanding him or the tents flipped by the wind in the back haha
Gareth is brilliant ! I am British & I couldn't understand him !!!
American here and had no problems
Thats what a ktm 500 does bro, it makes u side like ur from Australia..
Great vid good info. Well spoken
Great vid ! Gareth should do all the bike reviews. Legend 👌
great bikes!
you should pout subtitles on Gareth coments..... :)
sounded like he was shit faced lol
Had to laugh when he said "been sober 1 whole day" must be a challenge for him ha!
Can you get a translater for Gareth next time ?
#yorkshire 🤣
This... and I am not kidding :P
south yorkshire
I am from South Yorkshire he sound like he of rotherham
'ees been sober all day!!" LOL
Priceless 🤣
As an Englishman hearing Gareth come on with his thick Yorkshire accent was ace 😂. Great video guys.
Really weird that I'm an American and I understood Gareth perfectly, but everyone else is requesting subtitles for him. Usually its the other way around.
Its a joke
How many Bud-lites have you had ?!
Watch them fight with the pop up tent in the background. Thats the best part of the video!

Gareth definitely needs subtitles, I feel like a yank having to request that..im unsure if he has testie pops or having a mini stroke.
+1
Haha, I'm a yank and I understood him...barely though. Funny as all hell nonetheless.
I want to see Gareth ride the 500 all out! That would be entertaining.
Being an East Tennessee guy, i had no trouble understanding Garth. LOL
Same here in north Georgia
Prices are outrageous in Australia
I’m from Ireland and have no trouble understanding any of them just seem normal to me
Are these the Enduro models? If yes, are these street legal when bought from the factory? (I'm kinda new to this so sorry if it's a dumb question)
Vemp Thanks for answering
350 the best , great power , less fuel & consumables, doesn't tire you as much as the 500.
is the 500 better suited for the road at highway speeds? my DRZ400 screams at 70 75mph..then gearing it at 15/38 I cant do much technical riding, but can do open simple dirt roads all day
Where can I buy this graphics kit. will it fit a KTM 450 SX-F 2015?
It won't
Of course the 500 will excel in open terrain. More testing in tight terrain please.

My heart says the 500 but my brain knows the 350 would be the best all around choice.
350, you won't be disappointed. just had one and only reason I got rid of it was to get a 450sx-f for the track

@@xXCaptainCaleXx nope you are 110%. Wrong , the 450 exc f , exists i have 2018 exc. F non six days , salutes from mexico

Come with the bike, fitting is up to you.
Where the hell is the 450?

How come you really have a good accent good english i know where you from .. but you pronounce the "K" in KTM like in french "ka" in english it's "keh"
450?
I understand Gareth fine. I live in Chickasha, OK , go figure.
on those moto is not kicker. it is huge mistake. when you kill baterry far in mountains you are DONE!
Marek Skoda There is one on the 500
Marek - You can always buy aftermarket kicker if you're worried about it. I've had my battery crash a few times on my bike and jump starting it has never been a problem, even by myself.
Garreth needs an orange helmet, even when he's not riding..geez dude wtf did you say?
Great oozy accents!
👏
I was struggling to understand these guys...then Gareth came on. Is that a WA accent? The guy is a bull in a China shop. Look what he did the tents behind him just making his way to the interview.
Joe Diver omg..i just saw the tents xD
KTM 300XC 2T, after you ride it, nothing will come close
Unless you are riding on MX tracks. No going back to 2-strokes there.
The price range is far too close too make people want the 250 for less than 1k more you get double he engine size
Try racing a 2 hour Hare Scramble on each and you see why some people want the 250. None of the top scramble or hard enduro guys ride 450s or 500s.
Indonesia 🇮🇩☮️♥️ excf350👍

Proud to be British 😂🍻🍻😂
ktm's are over-priced
JUSES CHIRST says people that have never riden one.
It's actually more expensive to buy some Japanese Honda, Kawi or Yamaha and upgrade to the same level as stock KTMs..
Wait until you have to buy a rad cowl or a headlamp for something like a wr250f it would make your eyes water trust me I have one that's why I'm selling it and buying a ktm
