I got one of these at a yard sale for a few bucks, I am kind of considering mounting it to a sled, like a crosscut one, with the option to add hold down clamps. Basically, it'll just be an angle finder, but might make it safer.
It can be - the catch foot can be switched too. The issue is that if I switch it closer to the fence then my hand hits the fence and pushes the jig out, both messing up the cut and causing kickback

Makes sense to me! Let me know how it goes
I have one while I don’t use it often when I needed I need it.
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!
Nice invention
I didn’t invent it! I bought this about 8 years ago for woodcraft
God help you if the workpiece binds. Wouldn't it kick back like crazy?
Probably. But that’s one reason to make sure everything is aligned
Nice call on the double sided tape. I have this jig and keeping the piece tight to the jig is a challenge.
That’s always been my biggest issue with it. This makes it so much easier.
The handle can be switched over the the other side, this would increase your safe zone.

I prefer a ride on taper jig
Dangerous AF and not very versatile . No doubt “wood river” stole that design from the one I bought from Sears in 1975 😂😂
never slide your left hand as you did in this video hello
Hand was a safe distance away - I try to always pay attention tonthwr
Or ya know build your own easy
Absolutely
