Pioneer is not the only one who was inspired by Turbosound/Funktion-One. Lambda Labs and Lynx Pro Audio too. So chill, maybe they do sound good. Listen first, complain later.
Turbosound went line array because of the industry to keep up with everyone else. From the tms range back in the 80s, flood and flash light and all the phase plug technology is still awesome now. Funktion one still use phase plug technology AXA HEAD. Also I forgot to mention the tannoy iq 10 , god bless Tony Andrews the master of it all.

`no my friend is not , u need to listen it, by my experience old turbosound and other attemps to horns ,baffles and plugs where from ok to not good , but this is the perfection of those, 2 of this xy3 and u good to fill a 200 by 300 feet open space on lower mids ,mids and highs on mid power only , or 4 of this xy and u can fill and 300 by 500 open space on full power of units, it is the real future that is been holding from pioneer , it will kill speakers manufacturer business as u can imagine,.. but they sound just amazingly great and natural exactly like the hifi, high end stuff no bs, once u hear it u can found out that line array is like a decease in the pro audio...
As I say to my friends. U DONT you need to get line array, but they so ignorant and pathological and they must have arrays. stacks on ground level 🤦♂️🤷♂️🤣😂
no my friend , those evo horns from funktion one are nothing compare with this xy-3 , actually funktion one have all the unwanted problems of phase plugs and they not good in sound quality, u need to listen to this XY-3 to really hear the diference...pure natural flat sound in open spaces at high volumes...

@@funkolog funktion one plugs have flat surface and they are built more to look flashy than to really solve distortion , phase and cone problems , funktion one sound just average on its kind and are not better than any regular front speaker baffle with qualitty components and design, and again u need to listen the XY-3 to hear what im talking about..

Tony Andrews dedicated his life to Pro audio. it's silly to think that after the success he had with Turbosound he would put phase plugs into his new brand just to make them look flashy. their near and long range delivery is superb and I've heard a lot of live instruments through them too. of course there is a certain distortion given by the concept. everything is a compromise. I'd love to hear the Pioneers of course.
