      Exactly..and there were also alot of Asian indentured people, and let's not forget the Atrocities done to the Native people. It's not just one group of people that were victimized

      @@Lilspoon93 the Viking took,lmfao that’s not really slavery. Debt which we are all slaves too. But Irish were indentured servants,but the African was so valuable they stopped indentured servants and made them slaves. See the differences??

    The problem with history is we weren't there, so we don't really know, and we try to put our mindset from our time on a period in history that was nothing like our time. Yes, mistakes and atrocities were committed, but not by any of us. How can we put blame on people today for things people who may have looked similar did? My fathers side of the family is Italian they came from Italy they were treated poorly I hate they endured that but I'm glad they did so I could be born an American. Personally I think anyone born an American should be grateful for that. Great reaction much ❤ from Tennessee 🇺🇲

      That is why we have historians 😂

    • @Brenda12911
      @Brenda12911 3 місяці тому +2

      @jennifer3735 Even "historians" get it wrong or have their own biases so again none of us were there some may be more researched and knowledgeable but we weren't there. Most we have are educated guesses with some "facts" just think about all the things that were stated as facts that have now been debunked. So yes, we have historians, but unless they have a time machine, we really don't know what the mindset of people in those times were really like. 😂

    Hey Guys, always happy to see people wanting to educate themselves. I have a suggestion for a reaction. If you haven't already reacted to Larry Elder's documentary called " Uncle Tom" you really should! Don't let the title keep you away, and watch the entire documentary, not the deleted scenes. Hope to see your reactions. Thanks!

    Slavery is "worldwide" business throughout the centuries no matter the continent. american high schools completely blocked that out.
    Seeing "Spartacus" in middle school showed that the Roman Empire slave trade was completely neopolitan. Anyone they conquered was fair trade.

    From what I know the original Barbary pirates where people who used to live in Islamic Spain. After the empire fel, many muslims ¨returned¨ to Magreb, but this group converted to christianity . But in the end the new Christian regime took there belonings and exiled them anyways. And feeling angry and betrayed and now poor the group was the start of this piracy age. All is action reaction in the end. It always fasinates me that if we go a bit further back, there is always another history and another story at that origin etc.

    I was going through your catalog to see more Tom Macdonald reactions and saw this.
    History that they do not teach us for a purpose.
    The war on slavery is the only war in history that is commemorated on the day it ended and the reason why is because it would be hard to convince the people that this country was built on racism if they told everyone that Vermont was the first state to abolish slavery on July 2 1777, 1 year after the revolutionary war started and 7 years before it ended. By the end of the revolutionary war, 8 of the 13 original colonies had abolished slavery. One of George Washingtons first acts of president was to tell the south they had 20 years to import slaves and then they would have to work towards total abolition and then Thomas Jefferson made good on that demand in 1804.

    The main thing tjat ended it was fighting! Other people fighting and risking their lives for those who were enslaved and not giving up intil the slavers saw that it was costing more to keep fighting for slavery than the slave trade was worth...that and the desire of some rulers to have better relations with the west.
