this is the real point and very nice video
Using this Fingerprint device with a NANO and the referenced sketch. Inconsistent results. The device works OK, but the sketch crashes a lot. I contacted dfRobot and they say (even though it's their sketch) that a hardware serial port must be used to avoid inconsistent results. I've tried obvious ways to do that (TX/RX pins), but it doesn't work. Do you have an answer to this? Thanks!
Every time I connect a sensor with arduino nano, it says... Communication with device failed, please check connection.
I am pretty sure connections are ok, I checked multiple times. Anyone can help me out ?

I would make a password manager for a PC from this fingerprint reader. It just needs some kind of really simple text (login and the password) encoding and decoding on an SD Card.
so 1 sensor outputting different text based on which finger you used yeah? did you manage to get that working?

Which FP sensor on the market can give the fastest result ? Not looking at price ... but need to connect to Arduino or ESP.... This one, I'm not really impressed with the speed looking at the video :)

can you use two of this scanner in one arduino? scanner 1 for registration of fingerprint and scanner 2 for recognition of fingerprint that was registered in scanner 1?
Usually there is no need to use two. Instead, in the code you can handle permission for registrations and detections, but yes, you can connect as many sensors as Serial ports your hardware has

Yes, something like this can be implemented through software or hardware. You can do a lot with arduino.. and also.. look into raspberry pi.
@@anthonymercado3464 hmm might have to look into this then. I have a latte panda alpha so I could use the arduino on there no need for raspberry Pi. I just wouldn’t know where to begin never used arduino and not sure if I’d wanna buy all this to have it not work.....

Thats done to make the usage of the sensor easier for us makers. If you want you can bypass that and get the data off the sensor as well

You'll have to change the operation mode of the fingerprint scanner. I think the steps are mentioned in the user guide of the scanner.

I searched and got the library DFRobot/DFRobot_ID809 search this and you will get the files in git.

Someone hacked our GitHub and reached out for ransom which we could not afford and hence we lost all our repos. It is now a very tedious task for us to build repos for more than 50 videos again. Hope this makes sense.
