The use of TP and watered down modpodge has just helped me get over a hurdle I was having about trying to find a good stucco texture. Thanks a bunch for that tip!
Amazing idea! Especially if you have a big build & are looking for ways to make it lighter! It would be easy to use spackle or joint compound, if where you put it is permanent. But the TP looks so realistic, Why do it any other way?
Random scrolling this early morning to entice the imagination of”how to” accomplish roofing, house/cottage build, amazing work. Plus a new subscriber to follow along... waiting for next video on interior.. thanks..
Absolutely wonderful. I'll be referencing this for months to come, this has so many elements I've struggled with and you've nailed them in a style I love! Looking forward to the interior.
Amazing video, man. I really like how deep you delve into the methodology & approach you took toward the project. Keep up the good work, dude. Looking forward to your next vid.

Love your thatch job and will be looking for a coconut fiber broom!! Also dig the flocking. I love Luke's products. Your content is entertaining as always. "You know what to do!" Slainte!
I'm sorry, you lost me at the toilet paper. That stuff is expensive and hard to come by here in the states. Bad joke I know. I really enjoyed the painting portion. I'm just getting back into mini painting and terrain after a long hiatus and this really helps.
Another fantastic video, man. I love your style and how much detail you go into about your processes and techniques. And your sense of humor is on-point. Keep up the great work, brother!
@@DarkMatterWorkshop While far less detailed than they could be, I'd made some animated brooms/mops a couple years ago...mainly a base and and a piece of a toothpick cut to size with a blob of hot glue to hold them together that I shaped into something that looked like a rough broom. Mainly for the starter AL adventure for their campaign 2 years ago, but then the best of them kind of hung around as a representation of the spiritual weapon spell for a divine soul sorcerer that I was playing as a witch...
Very nice! Er even vanuit gaan dat het kan, in het Nederlands. Ik heb dozen met 'Pritt correctie roller, refill'. Ik doe er niets mee maar heb dit wel in voorraad. Amazing! Subscribed! Where did you get the white 1cm foam-core from? And how did you take the paper off easily and cleanly? Is it a specific brand? (I'm also from NL and finding foam is not easy here.)
Rule 1 is awful, i frequently craft things directly from my imagination. Please anyone who is new to craft DO NOT LISTEN!!!! Instead take the time to learn about the things you are building, architecture, landscaping, water movement and erosion. If you want to just build a small cabin, and you want it to come out OK the first time around, then you can use references, but if your trying to get into crafting as a hobby, let your imagination run wild, recarve, repaint, and redo.
Aha ! A different opinion! Love those ! Consider this video more as a test of the theory. To base our artistic vision on reality. It’s not my theory, it’s one in the art community. Terrain crafting doesn’t have to be “art” . But it is in fact what we are doing therefore it’s useful to listen to what established artists have to say. (Painters, sculptors, etc...) @@DarkMatterWorkshop alright, you got my sub man, your politness and attitude have won me over :) but im avid about people flexing their brains and stretching what reality is. If we hadn't done that in the past, we wouldn't have fantasy now lol. Ty for the response but i do firmly believe that the people who have been in the hobby for a long time have less capacity for new ideas than neweler crafters who are just hitting the scene. Great build. Love the tissue paper texture over the foam core. Specially liked that the awesomely thatched roof is removable for interior access.
Great buildings are one thing, great buildings with interiors are better! 😉
The toiletpaper is such a good idea! You could even use the ones with the pressed in patterns to make wallpaper for fancier houses. 😮
For shure ! Thanks
I love the lego square for the corners. Brilliant idea, totally stealing it.
