The term tornado emergency was first used in the 1999 Moore, Oklahoma F5, but started becoming an official term in 2012 in Missouri, then into the central US in 2013, then nationwide in 2016.
Tornado emergencies have been used a total of 194 times between the first usage and this recent one.

@@nileprimewastaken Remember, UFO's doesn't mean aliens. I actually live on Lake Conroe, wish I saw this live to go out and see it. Anyhow, just interesting is all. I'm always looking up, not down. =)

Show-like areas of this because we were given an extreme tornado warning in the Hwy 249 and FM 1960 before this. I kept an eye out for any flying objects near where I was working and that had happened I would have had the crew take cover.

Normally, Houston gets small, weak tornadoes like EF-0 or EF-1. Getting anything from EF-2 and over is quite rare.
