Which 3 things should you try when you are in Germany? 1. Try to find an old church in the country and visit it. 2. Try homemade Maultaschen in a good, traditional restaurant. This is a culinary specialty in southern Germany. 3. Try to learn at least 3 German words: Hallo (hello), Bitte (please), Danke (thank you). If you ever travel to the western part of the United States, I would recommend visiting Yosemite National Park in California, Lake Tahoe- the world’s largest alpine lake, or Virginia City, Nevada, for a taste of the old west

And learn the sayings from the local or region.The slang words, and the different pronunciations of words. Learn the local clothing trends.Some things can be very very humorous 😂 And so much to see in the US. ❤🎉
I absolutely love Germany and lived there for many years. I lived in Köln, but traveled alot around Germany and Switzerland, which I really loved. I wish i had stayed there, instead of coming back to the US. My entire family came from Germany, so my heart is there.

I agree it is jarring when church bells are flat and not tuned, they do not touch the heart, but do torture the ears. The city was gorgeous, everything was so clean and well cared for, it would be a lovely place to spend some time exploring (and dining!).

Good question. I think in church people whisper out of consideration. It is usually very quiet in a church and some people seek this silence in order to pray. I just realized that I forgot to take off my hat when I entered the church.
