Excellent advice! Progesterone has been a lifesaver for me since perimenopause. Any time I would bleed heavily, have panic attacks, or couldn't sleep, progesterone was always the pill that pulled me through. Once I went through menopause, of course I needed to get on estradiol also, and added testosterone as compounded cream. Life has been smooth sailing ever since. That's been 30 years, and I have been extremely healthy with no weight problem at all, and am able to exercise with ease and no discomfort too. My lab work is great and I so enjoy how calming progesterone is, and how it makes me sleepy before bed. (That's when I take it.) I'm never stopping!
i wish you would talk about dosing of the bio identicals - althugh it varies per individual, but just genral dosing.. so we can show our doctor that have no idea
I am perimenopausal. My doctor put me on premarin estrogen cream bc of vaginal dryness and discomfort. I haven't had a good nights sleep in 10+ years and the insomnia has been brutal. I was sent for sleep study tests and everything came back normal. My new doctor listened to me and did some research and she's now put me on progesterone pill Prometrium 100 mg but the bottle says to take 2 tablets. Im supposed to start after my period ends. Does that sound right? And will I have to take another form of estrogen to feel normal? I really hope I don't gain any weight.
@@nicolebrewster4352 it’s hard to answer without your full medical history but cycling of progesterone is commonly done in the luteal phase in those who cycle. Love the Premarin cream option too!
My cycles became shorter out of nowhere at age 41, and now at age 45 I have lost a significant amount of hair. Labs show I have low progesterone, but I keep reading that hrt can cause more hair loss?
I’ve finally been given progesterone after 10 years of having an hysterectomy doctors wouldn’t give me it I’ve lived with terrible anxiety she’s given me 100 mg tablet im taking at night but i feel more jittery and waking few times in the night why is this i was hoping it would get better i am only 4 days in could this settle or do i need more as I believe im oestrogen dominant x
@@mariewalton555 so happy you found a provider to help you!! It can take some time. Keep working with your provider to find the right dose and format. Also make sure labs are checked at certain intervals!
Hi I am in perimenopause am still getting a monthly cycle but have a lot of the symptoms eg anxiety, mood changes, headaches If you take progesterone capsules vaginally , will that also help with mood/anxiety and the GABA neurotransmitters symptoms or would you need to take orally ? Thanks!

Thank you so much for sharing this! It is amazing what HRT can do! You never have to stop thats the beauty of it!

Microionized progesterone gave me anxiety, insomnia....it doesn't suit everyone.
@@drsakshisargam sorry that happened to you. Never was it stated it was for everyone.

Would a synthetic progesterone be contraindicated for someone w hx of DVT?
Always talk to your healthcare provider. We don't see this in our practice though.

@@kurtzbomb definitely find a provider who specializes in HRT it can help with this but there could also be other underlying issues missed.

Yes!!! Its the magic hormone for perimenopause and we use it daily in our practice for these symptoms! Format matters too.
@@tarabfertility thank you for the response. can you please elaborate on what you mean by format?
@Dr.TaraHarding, thanks for your video ... WHY is it that GPs will NOT prescribe bioidential progesterone to perimenopausal women?
Its funny how you are reading from the screen in front of you
@@drsakshisargam funny how you are triggered but an assumption. I have notes. I look at a screen. Why is that a problem?
