I've heard the same ... No need to get confused ... Chill don't get stressed too much on this witr isn't fardh anyways... I'm from Pakistan and here we pray witr differently because most of us follow imam Abu Hanifa
So in the second rakah before tasleem, do you say durood ibrahim or any dua like you would do in a regular complete 2 rakah salah? Or do you just say tahiyyat and tasleem before moving on to the last rakah?
Aslamoalaikum Wa Rahmatullah. It is requested please read the Hadis No.1002 Sahih Bukhari. There is clearly mentioned that the Qunoot of Witer is Before Rakoo not after Raqoo. The Qanoot after Rakow was performed in Fard Salah that is Qanoot Nazla. These Shikh is praying Salatul Witer not Fard Salah. And other thing Rasool'eAkramSAw Prayed Qanoot Nazla in all Fard Salah.
This is getting complicated... I'm trying to learn the witr parayer... I heard you do three rakats without doing tashad after the second rakat and to do it only at the end of the thrid rakat. So why is it so different here
According to Imam Abu Hanifa, you do 3 rakats :- - on the 3rd rakat, read surah fatiha and a surah - do takbeer - then say your dua qunoot (Allahumma innaa nasta'eenuka... Etc) - then go to rukou' - stand up for samiallahu liman hamida - go to sujood and finish as normal
Sister your comment is really old but I'll still reply just incase you still have this query ... Anyways witr is right both ways according to my knowledge which is sitting for Tashad only once after 3rd rakah or sitting after 2nd rakah and then doing tasleem and then standing up again for Last rakah and doing Tashad and tasleem again
I think only imam Abu Hanifa recommend to pray witr the way Shah h replied above my comment but the other imams recommend to pray like this sheikh in video or to pray 3 Rakahs with one tashad and tasleem ... Allah knows the best we Muslims shouldn't divide on such things
These are offered in odd numbers , most common is 3 rakats but if you wanna offer five or seven your choice . After offering farz salah of Isha we usually follow with 2 rakat (Sunnahs ) and then witr . You can see many tutorials on UA-cam on witr , the only change is that in the final rakat there is a small Dua you'll have to learn . It doesn't have to be as big as in this video, he did that voluntarily, there's no hard and fast rule for your duas . Ask whatever you like and you feel like is good for you .
This video is the best guidance for WITR prayer
