I like Pineider pens. This may be due to the fact I have met the designer, Dante Del Veccio, who also made great pens with Visconti. He is very imaginative and has designed man y classics such as the Homo Sapiens.
The fill you get with this pen is impressive. The ink flow is generous. I think that the pen was not made to be posted. The barrel is long enough to write with it unposted, but for those that prefer posting, your advisement is great to know
I also did not know how to remove the piston. Thanks for that and will do so with my next cleaning, though you don't need to remove the piston to get a thorough cleaning.
If someone wants a nib that provides mine variation, one should get the pen with what they call the "Quill" nib. It is very responsive.
    Great review.

Thank you! This is my first Pineider, and overall I’m very impressed with the amount of thought and innovation that went into the design. I agree with you, the piston rod doesn’t need to be removed for most cleanings. But it’s nice to know it can be done.

This is a massive improvement over every other vacuum filler I’ve ever seen because the vacuum rod can actually be disassembled.
I don’t generally like this filling system because eventually, the rubber grommet that holds the vacuum rod fills with different colors of ink over time, and it can’t be effectively cleaned.
This is fantastic. Can you describe briefly what the piece that the vacuum rod rides through looks like? Is it easy to rinse completely?
I’m way past the collecting phase of my fountain pen journey and well into the “use all the awesome pens you have,” phase, but this checks so many boxes for me.

It is one of the only ones I have with a knob that can be easily removed, though I don’t know how easy it is to find individual components. The rod rides on a rubber gasket, which is very easy to rinse.

Wow. I love the idea of an piston filler Avatar, but I don't love the see-through barrel. Perhaps espesially on the Neptune, it looks a bit out of place compared to the cartridge version. How does the barrel do in terms of scrathces from the cap when posting?

That’s a great idea! I wonder if they’d be able to keep an ink window with a piston filler. I haven’t noticed any scratches from posting, but I usually write with this one unposted.

@@ForTheLoveOfPens Yeah! Maybe even just a little one, like Lamy 2000 ( just better :P ) above the nib section. But still, a really cool pen and a really nice review, thank you!

@@FiatPanis Thank you! Yes, I could visualize one being about where the 2nd chamber is on this model.
