I really look forward to your next video! I first came across your channel a few months ago when I was looking up more information about urushi for kintsugi.
Hello, can you do a tutorial on what to do with threads? I want to make the urushi consistent till the threads, but it always gets rough and uncomfortable to cap and uncap.
Do you have to worry about parts fitting together once the finish is applied? Like is it okay to get it on parts that have to mesh together like a snap on cap or the threads on the body?
As far as I know the threads are cut loose so there is room for lacquer. I think the priming method is different too but I couldn’t tell you exactly. Information is pretty thin on the ground.
Thanks for your questions meow~ You need to pay extra attention to those areas and keep checking if they fit in every step. You may use Makiji priming method for a thinner primer or avoid painting those areas. I will do a Makiji priming tutorial soon~ ^^
i'm just start learning Urushi and your videos are very helpful ! I want to apply Urushi on metal (brass) do you think that I can follow the same step as wood ? reference book or resource link may help :) p.s i just subscribed to your channel
