Necessary materials
5 medium onions
1 large potato
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of wheat flour (40 grams)
2 tablespoons of cornmeal (40 grams)
1 pinch of parsley
1 teaspoon each of salt, thyme, black pepper, cumin and chili flakes
To remove the bitterness of the onion:
1 liter of water
2 teaspoons of salt (16 grams)
For Frying:
1 tea glass of vegetable oil (90 ml)

This looks good. Could you skip soaking the onion if you used sweet Vidalia onions. ( they're my favorites, never bitter)
@@marthavandelinde3114 Yes you can prepare without soaking the onions. I never soak my onions, and for my group, I would have to add at least 5 cloves of garlic. This is a "good bones" recipe that one can build upon to ones personal taste.

There really does look good. It's very similar to what I fixed myself for breakfast this morning which was basically the same thing only I used a small zucchini instead of the potato. This kind of food is very satisfying and yet like you said extremely inexpensive. Thanks for the video!

Привет в Новую Зеландию🕊️! У нас в России ещё делают похожие оладьи, но только из картофеля (без лука) Называется "драники" (draniki) 🙂 Натёртый картофель, 1-2 яйца, соль, мука. Иногда + специи, перец, зелень рубленая. И жарить так же как в этом рецепте. Едим их со сметаной (типа не сладкого йогурта) 🤤
Це не рфівська кухня. Драники то білоруська страва, а деруни - українська.
Везде надо вставить свои 5 копеек и разжечь войну, что за люди! Успокойтесь уже, никто не говорит, что это русское блюдо драники, она просто написала что в России готовят это блюдо ! Читайте внимательней и не тупите !
