Very nice university. This is what Ibos should have been doing since instead of wasting their time fighting who should be vice chancellor of Lagos or Ibadan universities like Kenneth Dike and Eni Njoku did in the 1960s. They should aim to hire staff from technically competent BRICK countries to teach relevant skills not just learning long useless grammar.

Despite vast land and building, none of the so-called universities in Nigeria has made it to the top 1000 of world universities as compiled by the Times higher Education Supplements.

Ikwuano was carved out of former Ikwuano/Umuahia LGA. Michael Okpara university is in Umudike which is in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State
