I've spent about a week looking at all 13900hx / 4090 laptops honestly the Lenovo is the most cost effective one overall. I even found a referb that was configured with 64gb ram and 8tb HD. I snagged that up for 3k out the door. That was a killer deal compared to origin, falcon-nw, asus or msi. That configure would have been 4-5k on specd laptop like that.

I find "desktop replacement" a difficult term. For me, a true desktop replacing machine is a device which stays "healthy" for years of use. A machine with parts I can replace when they break and is meant for service.
I had a gaming laptop a few years ago, used it for about 2 years as my main pc. But even though I was not gaming on a bed, it was collecting dust like mad (before I get comments, we do clean our house..). I had to open it up and clean out the fans ever 3-4 months, and repasted it twice with significant perfomance gains after that.
But, after two years, screws were worn out, plastic thingies broke off even though I was maximum careful. And as I mainly bought the machine for lan parties, I found that gaming for hours on a 17 inch screen is just not optimal.
I had my eye (and prepurchased) on an Eblaztr for a while, but this turns out to be a scam. At least, I won't see my money back. That idea was great though.

Its absolutly amazing, and while expensive, a great value on a 4090 laptop. The MSI and Asus comparable models were $3500 or more. I was concerned about the IPS display and preferred Min LED or oled, but this is the best IPS monitor I've ever seen. No light bleed, good blacks, bright at 500 nits, its been great. And the keyboard is fantastic. Not mechanical but very solid and one of the best I've used on a laptop. 100% satisfied.

What's the wallpaper used on your demos with the train ride? Is that something you've downloaded or created yourself? Thanks

I bought this laptop specifically to play Starfield, and it's been knocking out of the park so far.
I have been meaning to try undervolting it and tuning it to squeeze every bit of performance I can get. But I've been out of the loop and running stock hardware for a while now, are there any good guides to doing this with these kinds of laptops? I'm currently still looking at doing research on it and seeking recommendations.

9:20 What's the point of using "Ultra settings" and then scale the resolution down? To get some extra FPS you lost by using "Ultra settings"?
This will just look like ass, even if you don't care about added processing time/latency. You might as well lower some details..
This way of "benchmarking" is super stupid, in my opinion.

What amazes me is how powerful this machine is and it can’t do 4k 60fps with Ray tracing. But the Ps5 and Xbox series x was supposed to? Lmao when are people going to sue them for lying and false advertising. The pc world has shown the console market lied to us big time!!!

Hello, I have just bought the laptop you discussed and I have a question. Do you know anything about thermal insulation? That is, is there paste or maybe liquid metal implemented on the graphics card and processor? Regards.

It's also one of the only laptops with 240hz display which I really wanted for competitive gaming all others are running 120/144hz displays. One even has mini led which is nice but the GTG response times are higher. Idk based on my hours of research for competitive gaming and bang for buck the Lenovo is definitely the best 13900hx/4090 laptop on market.
