World of Illusion was a really special game. It's just as classic as Castle of Illusion ever was, but somehow it improves on it in every way. Sega also really did right by the Disney license: this is easily one of the best looking titles on the Genesis.
Just so you know, the first screen (0:11) of the intro for this game got re-used as the "Gome Over" Screen from a bootleg game known as "The Legend of Zelda: San Shen Zhi Li" in 2004.
Love this game. The ending music I loved so much as I kid I even recorded it on my cassette player and to this day I still have it 😅. Thank god for youtube so that I can find things from my childhood. 🙏
Mickey can make it through tight spaces alone, Donald can’t... Their solo playthroughs are completely different in some areas to accommodate for this...
This game is PURE MAGIC. Easily the best mickey mouse game on genesis (although the others were very good too) played this to death with my friends in 2 player back in the day.
This whole series is pretty damn fun. I played through all of the games, and enjoyed each one of them immensely. :) I would love to see more playthroughs of Disney games on various systems, personally. They bring back all the best memories. :D
What i also like about this game is the fact that it has a real and funny ending though the game is short they have put real good effort into the ending!
This is one of the best Mega Drive(& Disney)games ever made.I usually dislike Mega Drive music but this is amazement! This has to be the Sega game with best music(Can't think of another game)
I liked this game and magaged to best it I think with both players yeah a veteran of the system wars there were some good games and good times from those days now everyone is waiting for VR to get as good as ready player one I think that might happen when I am 60 and I hope by then we can get our brains put into a younger body for me a little kid so I can grow up again or maybe 15-16 years old and still remember everything that we went through before since sega gave us a collection on the PS4 we should also get one from the SNES
I rented this game and was playing as Donald and got all the way up to Pete, but when I hit him and his body started vanishing, one of the ghosts still had a hitbox and hurt me as I was falling to the ground, resulting in me dying... and getting a game over. It was pain seeing years later that I beat the boss but "wasn't allowed" to see the ending.
The first time I played this game,I thought that in 1 player mode the character you didnt choose, would be either a semi boss or during the final boss fight, would be in the background traped in some cage or a crystal bubble similar to Minnie in Castle of Illusion.
This game came out in time for Christmas 92'. Unfortunately that meant it got squashed by Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage 2 hype! Talk about Sega bringing the goods! Sega pushing the Sega CD didn't help much either.
No, they both hold each other in high regard. They compliment each other quite well. It is far better than that tripe called Fantasia though, at least the developers showed effort with WoI.

19:46 Ah, the most nostalgic part of this game by far. Just listen to that song, so hopeful and majestic...

knuclear2010 Seriously, it's such a cool little thing that you never saw back then
That's called attention to detail, and to show off how 16 bit hardware was a big jump over 8 bit hardware.
"Who...are...you?" 😉

This was one of my favorite games to play as a kid! I don't think I ever made it past the cake/candy level though.

I really enjoyed playing this as a kid with my brother... I always had to pull his butt out of tight spaces whenever he got stuck as Donald...
Marcela Saraiva de Melo duck lives matter!
I play games solo. Dang Covid 19!!!!!

Ohhhh the memoriesssss I knew I didn’t dream this shit up lol to be born in 91 was TRULY a pleasure!
dude same I was looking for this game for so long, for a while I was thinking I made it up 🤣
I wish this game would get a remake.
Nooooo
I don't think a remake for World Of Illusion would be a bad idea, but there's nothing wrong with the original game.
what do you mean by "Nooooo"@@MooseCall

The music feels like Shining Force II arangements! This soundtrack is awesome.
Ah you're right. There are a lot of similarities.
I love this game!
i'm glad i got to play it when i was a kid.
great job playing through it,my man!
Me, too!
I think this is fairly underrated on the Genesis/Mega Drive. Actually have a boxed copy of this game...
This game made me choose genesis over snes... it was worth it.
I wonder what's keeping Disney from making a Mickey (and Donald) Magical collection on the Switch.
What i also like about this game is the fact that it has a real and funny ending though the game is short they have put real good effort into the ending!
This one hits the deepest how time passes.
I like this game my favourite

The only thing I don't like about the game is the slowdown... But I get it... This game was my childhood so I am a bit biased

Shame Sega isn't as big as they used to be, I hope they make a new console.
Phil Collins was in Land of Illusion? Also I always hated Mickeys run animation in this. For some reason it drove me nuts.
MFields2178 Hahaha no it was a lame joke. Genesis had a song called Land of Confusion.
NintendoComplete Damn I need to brush up on my Phil Collins then.
Yo jugaba eso cuando era pequeña
Anyone know what the point of collecting the black cards are for they don’t give you extra lives or power?
They give an extra life when you've collected 52 of them.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🕹
