I'm in the same spot. I've been a fan of the Elder Scrolls since Morrowind. Now, I'll never buy another game created by BGS (or Blizzard for that matter).

My theory is ES6 happens on the borders between Hammerfell, Highrock and Skyrim. The tutorial runs you through the mechanics whilst also trying to get you across the border. At some point it blacks out. As it fades back in you see the back of a wagon... "You're finally awake..."
And then it turns out ES6 was just another creation club content for ES5. Ah shit. We’ll get em next time Todd. Give him 15 more years.
Beyond Skyrim releases are looming next year.

@@VGL its okay by the time es6 is out Beyond skyrim, apotheosis, and many other large scale mods will add content equal to 2-3x the content of base skyrim. Paired with the graphical, combat, animation, and general immersion mods will make skyrim basically es6 lol. Cant forget that someone will make a full wabba modlist to install all of it within hours without any effort on the players part either haha.

Weapons & armor smithing, alchemy, echantments, spell creating, provisional crafting MUST be intricately broad, & detailed. Skyrim was good, but TES 6 needs to be incredibly expanded when it comes to crafting things.
This is why people get so deep into fantasy RPGs. To "make stuff," so as to personalize our experiences!
I was in high school when Skyrim came out and now I’m almost thirty and I have a kid on the way. The time between releases is crazy when you think about it. And my kid will be four years old by the time the new game comes out. 🤯Bethesda has to pander to a new demographic for the new game bc people are in completely different chapters of life than we were at when Skyrim came out.
Still playing Skyrim, with all the new updates. It’s like a new game.

I think the reason there are no vehicles for traveling on planets in Starfield is because their game engine can't handle loading assets at faster movement speeds just like in Skyrim and Fallout. If this is the case, then their game engine is in fact a problem.
nah there is a vehicle mod for fallout new vegas and it works very well
Nah. This was an issue with Skyrim on Xbox 360 because it was loading from a DVD, and as a first person game it had a high density. Shouldn't be an issue with SSDs.
Oh, I see. Then why? Who thought walking in a straight line on an empty world for over 3 minutes was a fun gameplay experience? A hover bike that you could call would have lowered the tedium of travel significantly. There aren't any vehicle models in game. Are they telling us humanity no longer uses transportation vehicles in the space age except spaceships? It makes no sense. this game fails at the most basic level for world building. It's like hardly anyone asked why, how, or what for. @@Wolfos530
The engine is absolute junk. Even back when they did Skyrim it was. They tried to patch an already dead engine.
Any modder can tell you this is false.
The game can load the assets fast enough for a horse or a car.
Unless they upgrade massively or drop the Creation engine ESVI is going to seem like a 2011 game released in 2026. Dated to say the least. If starfield is Todd Howard’s idea, well we know who is responsible for that disappointment.
Todd howard at this point of his life only wants money and a good retirement, using this shit he saves expenses to the company, expenses who goes to his pockets
A new engine won't matter, it won't make better stories or NPCs, or fill the world with things to do. Bethesda executives don't care about the game, only money.

I really hope that one of the reasons why it takes so long is because they added the magic blender feature. Combining left hand magic with your right hand magic, creating interesting effects. Like they did in fable 3. Such an underrated feature.
The sad part about the skyrim feeling in 2011 is it was peak gaming and the more we move forward the less peak the gaming industry has become
Fucking fr I like battle royals too, I'm a beast at overeating and combat heavy doom eternal which is a straight just shooter, dmc w mortal combat type play, etc. I fucking loved boarder Lands wacky characters and stories. But it feels like more and more games are taking a more GTA route with things and I'm fucking over war zone w aim assist 😒
I hope the next elder scrolls also utilizes large expansions instead of longer waits with non-substantiative content littered inbetween. I'd be more happy for them to use basically the same game with some small upgrades here or there and be able to explore large handcrafted worlds with more story. Also, it would be VERY COOL if we were to move beyond Tamriel and explore some of the other continents in DLC or the base game. If the game was set in Hammerfell you can start there and "discover the lost continent of Yokuda" which is where the main antagonist would be along with more lore to expand on for ES7.

I don't even get elder scrolls vibes from elder scrolls online. It just feels like a random fantasy world generation 😂 but maybe I'm too biased as I've only ever played Skyrim

7:10 god, I remember those days. Accidentally going back into a house was the worst. After 70 hours the game lags very badly during combat that I wasnt sure if I killed my enemy or if I was dead for at least a minute. Nearly half of your game time was those loadscreens. Plus side, I learned a lot about the lore. 😁👍
The big battle scenes will have SEVEN CHARACTERS ON SCREEN AT ONCE. The character faces and animations will look like Xbox 360. Every faction will have THREE QUESTS.
And will have EIGTH voice actors!

Es6 can go either way due to the mixed to (mainly) negative reaction to StarField, Bethesda goes plus ultra on this installment or the phone it in and it’s mid and relies on the mod community.
Small detail would be animations that games like Vermintide/Darktide have. Those first person melee animations really make players feel the weight of the weapons and it's very fun and satisfying.
Literally Skyrim og remastered with modern combat engines would be the most perfect game to ever exist, I’m constantly trying to find mods with more modern feeling combat but it just never works imagine if Skyrim played like elden ring or something
As much as i would like Highrock, i think Hammerfell would be more interesting given what happened during and after the war.

I recently downloaded Legacy of the Dragonborn and a number of Fully Voiced Follower mods, and it's like adding a whole new game onto a classic. LotD is practically a whole DLC campaign, basically Indiana Jones meets Skyrim. You can even get an airship!
They stated that they were in pre-production. That can take easily up to 2 years. Actual production for a AAA title can take anywhere from 5-7 more years. Honestly this game won't be rolling into production until further dlc, updates for Starfield are finished. TES6 will not be out until 2030 at the earliest.

I'm hoping that the Microsoft purchase means they can hire more people and toss more money/production toward it. That's the only positive to come of the acquisition. If that even does happen.

What I really want them to do is spend real amounts of time in fleshing out the world and retaining some key ES features. Have the traditional mage guild/dark brotherhood/fighters/ect questlines, have a main story. Most importantly though is filling the thing with detailed, interwoven side quests and unique NPCs.
I want there to be hundreds of locations, thousands of NPCs and books and lots of secrets hidden in the world.
Also I know it’s not technically main story elder scrolls but is nobody counting elder scrolls online? That game is super fun and has everything Skyrim does plus more
ES6 needs to be like a Daggerfall 2.0
In a world where a game can go from a blade of grass blowing in the wind to exploring a space station in a different solar system, without you ever encountering a loading screen, there is no room for loading screens as egregious as Star Field. At the very least I would expect transitions where the view is narrowed while the next part loads in, such as squeezing through a narrow gap in a cave, elevators in games (not very Skyrim mind you) are also good examples of this.
Correction: even at the time it was released, Skyrim was dated. The only thing you can consider beyond its contemporaries was that it was open world and very large. It wasn't that common a genre at the time. By all other measures, Skyrim was using very old systems. There was just more of it.

One thing I miss in games especially since I had a little brother I had to share with as a kid is coop. I think every game you can have a follower in should have the option of coop. If you have a follower with you a second controller should be able to control your follower. That would be awsome.

This company has to use mocap at the very least. The fact they are getting away with computer animated NPCs is very telling on the list of priorities internally

At this point that might as well make it for launch of whatever consoles are coming next. No one wants to wait 10+ years for the next game installment, they “remastered” Skyrim IDK how many times now, IMO they might as well just focus the entire franchise into ESO at this point and call it a day for the non mmo continuity of this game.
By the time this game is done the mod team creating all of tamriel will be done, and on their 5th update.

I think Todd Howard himself stated that he always wants to be the chosen one, so I'd say it seems unlikely we'll be allowed to just be a normal person any time soon.

I'm hoping that the setting is both Hammerfell and High Rock. I think that would be great if the main antagonist of ES6 is the Aldmeri Dominion. While Hammerfell would be openly hostile, I think High Rock would have more of a quiet resistance against the Thalmor. After all, they did leave the whole Thalmor thing kind of hanging in ES5.

Weird how no one has made a VR mod for Oblivion. There's even one for Morrowind, but sadly not Oblivion.
Gamers deserve more than what we get. I mean it’s taken like decades to get the next GTA and look at elder scrolls games. It’s a damn shame.
I’d like to see hammerfell or high rock. Side quests from TES V seem to point to Hammerfell. I’m not confident in TES VI or Todd Howard. He’s done great things at Bethesda, but it’s time to move on. I’m also really worried that Microsoft’s ownership of BGS will turn TES VI into a micro transaction nightmare. I truly hope I’m wrong.

Haven’t played Starfield yet but the people I know who have said it was good. Not everything needs to be a massive open world game. That said I hope it’s more like Skyrim that F4 or StarF. And I think it will be High Rock, but it’s close enough where you can visit Hammerfel, why not?

All I can say is if they want to make an actual profit off es6 they will need to multi platform the game so it will be available to more consumers. So I don’t see much coming out of Bethesda in the future since they were bought out by Microsoft

starfield was ok just felt lifeless in the public aera and not alot of interactions which makes most of the game boring to play over time and yes i understand that space is a big void and lots of empty location and i can respect that but with the lack of chaotic nature of random encounter like skyrim just feel dry

Bruh SHADOWS Of MORRIDOR combat style with quick use magic in combination w attacks like using wraith with bow abilities. Would love to see the same slowed down kills like in elder scrolls 5 and also, feature I loved from Devil May Cry was how you switched between demonic/angelic weaponry simply based on how it feels on the controller. But combat style thematic for combing conjuration magika with steel from shadows of morridor. Character upgradability needs to be like just as complex as ever. And for design of character look to be similar to that in Cyberpunk 76

my first time playing Skyrim i was blown away i loved every moment of it and what was said in the intro was right but untill i made my first toon he was not an elf you see this was my first every Elder Scroll game ever and i did not make and Elf with a bow a made a Nord with a sword that shout like the Lord

Hammerfel sounds nice, never been there. I guess that's part of the fun really. I ABSOLUTELY want AI NPCs! Giving an NPC a range of knowlege that only it would know and all NPCs a standard set of knowlege and cutting it loose would be really emersive!

I hope Elder Scrolls 6 takes place in Hammerfell, has a storyline focused on Mephala (She’s my favorite Daedra and is even the mother of my Redguard Dragonborn), and that we’ll be able to have mods that have external assets so it won’t be so limited on the PlayStation.
Unfortunately, Microsoft recently acquired bethesdas parent company zenimax, so es6 will most likely be an xbox exclusive game.

Just did a little googling and it's pretty much guaranteed to be an Xbox exclusive. Starfield isn't on PS5... And Microsoft acquired zenimax which is over Bethesda... So there's that.

The closes we can get to ES6 was AC Origins and AC1 if the game was going to take place in Hammerfell
And in terms of Sword play and maybe Parkour, AC Unity is the perfect base and maybe Harry Potter magics.
