Just did this...awesome!!! I had orange and some light orange hair. I took the bleach out of my hair too early. Anyway, bought a few toners from Sallys that made no noticeable difference. I mixed the black/blue with conditioner, left it on for about 3 minutes and the orange is completely gone! I have a dark blond with some lighter pieces in it. OMG Will be doing this forever. Thanks for showing before and after 🥰
Have you tried with shampoo? Wondering which is better🤔
@@bkd4122 Didn't see this! No I have dry curly hair so conditioner only for me.
So it’s black blue hair dye with conditioner do I add toner or?
This really works!!!! I tried it today! My highlights have gone from orange to ashy! I’ve tried a lot of purple shampoos but they give me little to no results. This works like a charm. Thanksss!
hey love! you can also do this with semi permanent blue and black hair dye with conditioner. it’ll fade faster but it’s super cheap and it’ll last you forever since you’d only need a few drops of dye and conditioner to dilute to your desired color. it’s also a lot better for your hair bc it’ll be like a hair mask instead of using drying the hair by using shampoo and box dyes.
But when you want to tone with a conditioner you have to add it to your roots too and it is never a good idea to put conditioner on the roots. I have tried Fanola No Orange Mask in the past instead of their shampoo and it was so gross! My hair was super greasy.
Literally watched your vid earlier today and I now have no more orange tones! I also used a sulfate shampoo per your advice. Thank You for demonstrating on curly hair - super easy & cheap process with fantastic results:)
I tried it with sulfate shampoo . I added 5 squirts of developer and 5 squirts of the color cream instead of 3. My orange / brassy hair highlights turned into this beautiful charcoal gray color which was The goal! So happy!
3 dots of black blue with 3 dots of developper and shampoo washed after 2 minutes
did you wash it two times or just once?
Microdots?
Thank you so much for making this video!!!
Tried it last night over my level 7 orange hair, after using colour remover. I wanted dark ashy blonde, which is level 7, but one hairdresser told me it can’t be done without bleach and another quoted me £130 for demi permanent gloss, olaplex and a blow out lol
I got cosmic blue by Schwarzkopf, as it’s a temporary dye, so I felt better about using it instead of permanent one. Followed the instructions, waited till it developed a bit for 10 mins in the bowl, after which I mixed in a sulphate shampoo and applied the mix to my strands, starting with most orange ones and washed off as soon as I covered all hair.
WARNING: You’ve gotta be quick with this mix, cause even if the colour doesn’t look intense in the bowl, it develops RAPIDLY on your hair. I recommend only adding one drop at the time and repeating the process again if needed, rather than going overboard, especially if your hair is porous. The blue black dye is one of the hardest to remove, so you want to be careful. After washing my hair and towel drying I was pleased to see all orange turn into ashy/ golden tones:)
I basically stripped my hair of all colour, as opposed to having a few highlights, like the OP, so I had to put something in. I used dark ash blonde semi permanent hair dye by Clairol and ended up with the most natural dark ash blonde hair colour I’ve ever seen:)
I did follow up with Pureplex protein treatment, which made my curly hair look drop dead gorgeous: voluminous and bouncy.
To sum it up, £30 and one hour time investment left me with enough cosmic blue for lifetime of toning, three more applications of demi blonde dye and and two more of protein treatment masks (my hair is shoulder length).
£130 lmao. Where is the justification for this nonsense?
As a pro hairdresser I can tell you the changes are wonderful. I'm actually allergic to sulfates so have no choice but to try this on a client using my sulfate free shampoo. She's got like a baby blond color I do for her but she retains allot of gold in areas she doesn't want to see ANY gold so this may be the trick to tone that away.
This works beautifully…. I never comment but I needed to as was awesome. I never got such results even in salons. My hair is so ashy now. I hated the orange red and was looking for help. Though I put a lot more than three drops of the dye and then freaked out and washed in just 7 minutes but my hair looks so ashy and beautiful…. Thank you 🙏
Do you remember Which hair dye did you use ?
@@griselgomez1 it was garnier blue black dye… I mixed with shampoo just little bit
hahahah I do the same thing!!! Gotta get those gloves!! Sometimes I keep the instructions in case i need gloves later. omg youre awesome.
it looks great girl !!
Thank u so much! I pray I get the same awesome results!
I’m doing this today! Lol 😂 thank you for posting this.
This works really well and I’ve been doing it a while after finding the original video but has anyone else noticed it going back to before after like 1 or 2 washes?
Yeah you have to preserve the bottles and makes it again after a week or two. Try not washing your hair so often or use a color safe shampoo or a good blue shampoo like L'Oreal Chroma
Bbgirl I’ll listen to anything you say moving forward….I can’t believe this worked so well!Thank you!!!
So glad it worked for you! You’re welcome 🫶🏼
Thank you so much for your great and helpful video. I put the color, developer and a whole bunch of shampoo, then mixed and let it sit and applied to my super orange hair. Once finished I waited like 5 min, then washed it and no change on the orange parts. The already yellow parts got nice and ashy but the orange parts remained orange. Was I supposed to mix the color and developer, let it sit THEN add the shampoo? Did I maybe add too much shampoo? Can you please help me? Thank you
Do I mix all ingredients together as normal for the dye & purchase a separate developer? If so what type of developer?
Looks good! I’ve been waiting for someone to post the actual results from this method(couldn’t find any on UA-cam 🧐)
How To . Tone. Hair
(CHEAP EASY SECRET )
Angie......watch it...I think that's who she means:)
Gah your hair is amazing!
Love it!
Hope somebody can help me. I got highlights when my hair grew my roots weee black and I have some white hair too. So when I color my whole hair with an ash blonde it came out orange but the ends where still blonde ashy. If I use this what will happen with my ends ? Wil turn dark ? Please
Thank you for doing this my hair is the same color. Im going to try this. I was aiming for a sandy blonde color as well but, I always end up with this color rojo claro. Ayi!!
If you tried this ...Please tell me the results
I try... from orange now i m copper
Yes for blonde use two drops of each, for orangey brown use three to four. And never leave on longer than two minutes. The result is really amazing when done right.
What happens if you leave it on for longer?
@@nadarose-anne9767 gets black
@@nadarose-anne9767 dye does its job in the first minutes, all the rest is for liability etc., so after a few more minutes you got the black on the box and it can be quite devastating if you come from dark blonde like me. It has happened and it turns into the worst raveney charcoal black. So def. time it to the second max. 2 minutes! Just use more dye if the brass is more severe.
Thankyou i really like you video it's really helpful
Looks quite lovely . . . ❤
for me it worked better with conditioner
Thank you! This video really helped. 😊
You’re welcome ❤️
@@Jasmineuribe you have tons and tons of beautiful hair...you gave that hair the perfect look
Love it❤
i clicked on ur channel to check that but you havent uploaded sulfate wala but this was helpfulthanks
henna won't allow me to bleach over it??
Hello! I tried it with the blue black dye in sulfate free shampoo. I didn't know I was supposed to add developer and use a sulfate shampoo. Damn. Um still red. Will have to repeat I guess. Oh and the box dye I got had liquid color. Not a cream in a tube. Oi
Ma'am, this is outstanding. 😍
Do you think a blonde could use this method that has put blonde like bleach on top of her hair or is this only for brunettes that have put blonde on their hair
If you want to tone blonde hair you should use purple dye instead
Please can you review this again or do you know anyone else that can review this I send the same lady that done the blue black hair dye mix with shampoo I'm terrified because I have like almost a yellow level 9 hair terrified that it will turn dark black beautiful curly hair though thanks for sharing
You can do a test patch on your hair to ensure it won’t have any blue tint
I did this exact same thing but my mixture was not black it was yellow. Even used the Dove intensive repair shampoo and it didnt work. Help!
Are you sure you used a blue/black hair dye ?
I tried it too and my mixture looked yellow at first. If you let it sit it might continue to develop darker. Maybe you didn't wake long enough. It went from yellow to brown to green then greenish black. I never waited long enough for it to turn black lol
I did this yesterday….. umm it went wrong for me 8 an a half hrs later and 14 hair washes a colour remover and claryfy8ng shampoo almost all blue out… can’t get in hairdressers till 22 nd lol
Very pretty and you're funny.
I can’t help but wonder, how did you apply it all so fast into hair long and thick and that it didn’t have a chance to go dark ?! What I mean is that I get the time you left it in was 2 minutes but what about an application time itself ?! Can you please explain the application process ?
It is very thick I’m so used to working product through my hair that I was able to do it quick enough. Also this isn’t like applying dye to your hair it’s just shampoo so I grabbed a good amount and quick enough my whole head had the product because I lathered it through
Hi! What did you do with the rest of the product?
I kept it for future use! You only use such a small amount so I keep both the developer and creme to use when I see orange in my hair again
Hey does this work on brassy brown hair?
I need to know that also.. but I did research a little and it would work better for light brown hair if you got a green/blue dye
Brassines Will go out From Brown hair too because there Is a blue shade in blue black
What if your roots are brassy but your ends are much lighter? I have ombre hair and my ends just need a little colored shampoo. They are kind of brassy yellow though but not much. Maybe itll be like a bright pale blonde? I dont know maybe I'll try it anyway
Same here. Can't find anything on how to correct it. And my hairdresser wasn't able to correct it, said only way is to make my whole head darker.
Put your hair in a low ponytail, only apply the color on the top layer where you want to tone, leave the ends coated in coconut oil so the dye doesn’t stick to it when you rinse. And rinse in the sink dipping your head forward and keeping the ponytail out of the water. You can work in layers. Might need someone to help you get the under layers rinsed carefully if you choose to apply there as well. Maybe utilize a shower that has the detachable sprayer option to quickly blast the color out and away from moving down the hair shaft. I would definitely recommend coconut oil to coat the pieces you don’t want tinted.
Thanks heaps for this video!! How often should i do this?
I am back to brown so I don’t do this anymore but I would do it any time I noticed my hair was turning orangey again
@@Jasmineuribe Thank you 😊 I have only done couple of times and it’s working well!
Funny you said shampoo when so many videos show conditioner...does it matter???
Anyways great job
The results would make me happy to:)
You look beautiful
I try and from orange now i m copper
How long did you leave it on
I left it on literally for 2 minutes, not any longer cause I don’t want a blueish tint in my hair
What is blue/black hair dye? If I have a blue dye, should I add black?
This is what I do!
Its the midnight black coloure or blue black, that Means it has more Blue hue added than in regular black dye
Did you do this with wet or dry hair?
She said she's doing it on dry hair 🤍
Hey Arianna 🎉
You are INSANELY beautiful
Thank you 🥺❤️
You sound like Ariana Grande 😎
Is your hair already dyed blonde ? Or just bleached
That's the same thing. You can't "dye blonde",you can only lighten hair with bleach
As a metter of fact you Can dye (put the dye in) the lighter/stripped hair to blonde coloure but only to natural tones which are not light enough for everyone
I see this trick before devaloper and black box?
&shampoo
Is it permanent?
Technically speaking a black hair color is permanent. It will even say PERMANENT on the box. But #1 for this method you dilute the color making it less strong.
#2 IME any dark color going on a light base in gonna fade a tiny bit with every shampoo 🧴
هي ضافت على الصبغه الأسود المزرق مايه
لا ضافت عليه شامبوا خالي من السولفات
Beautiful darling 🥰
Thank you ❤️
She says that she wants her hair “lighter”.
This won’t make it lighter; it’s supposed to tone down brassiness.
She can add lots more blond highlights and tone it again:)
Tried this and I ended up with light blue highlights 😩
Maybe you have put a little too much or did'nt mixed it well😟
Try a clarifying shampoo to get the blue out
Yes thats a common thing If your hair Is too light and you rinse the mixture out too quickly😊
Luckely blue color goes/fades out fast even when you want it there
I honestly cannot tell a difference
Ma’am you’re pouting. Just stay indoors til it has subsided
Guys she talks about nothing but random BS no one cares about for like the first 2 1/2 minutes.....speed through the mindless ramble......
This video is shorter than MOST tutorials on UA-cam lol
The entire video is less than 5 mins. You’re just trolling.
since i watch videos on double speed this was literally 2 mins, damn stick to tiktok then
