    Really fantastic video. I appreciate the effort and detail you put into it, which is super rare, especially the list of “what it would pick”. Most videos just go right to picking and don’t explain the keyway. Most people coming to Lishi reviews are beginners and not just there for a quick video proving the tool works. Cheers friend, subscribed

      Thanks for your vote of confidence. I’ll have all 24 of these picks wrapped up in videos. That’s what I’m concentrating on the Lishi world. It’s wonderful.

    33 minutes in and the suspense is killing me 😂. It does look like your Sparrows Tension Wheel has a weak or broken spring. Mine is quite a bit more stiff. I don't get much use out of it outside of when top of the key way tension is needed, but I agree that it looks beautiful. Also just from my experience I find that with really tight tolerance locks like these I find that if I have the same trouble with specific spots like you had with one and two, and changing the picking direction like you did doesn't help. It helps if you change your order you pick in so instead of always starting at 6 find a second reliable binder you'll often find one and it give you the proper binding to get those stubborn cylinders then work back. Since you said you get the open your technique works, but give it a shot some time if you're about to give up on one.

      Thanks for all the advice I’m gonna put it to good use. Trust me today I’m going to be picking open the seven pin BEST A key SFIC cylinder. Today right now so I’ll put everything you told me into practice. Thanks for all the great advice. Hooray for UA-cam and hooray for advice like you just gave me. Thank you again.

      Hey, I’ve been practicing with this seven pin model, which I would’ve shot a video sooner, but I had to figure out exactly how to use the lishi on the BEST cylinders here’s my summation
      Increase the tension considerably start with number one and work your way down to number seven. It works so unbelievably easy. If you increase attention dramatically to the point of, let’s say fatigue, your finger you can pick through the. BEST 7 PIN CYLINDERS WITH SO MUCH LESS EFFORT BY JUST INCREASING THE TENSION AND STARTING WITH NUMBER ONE AND GOING TO NUMBER SEVEN I MEAN IT’S INCREDIBLE AND WHEN YOU INCREASE ATTENTION ALL THE PINS DON’T KEEP DROPPING AS YOU’RE WORKING YOUR WAY THROUGH THE CYLINDER CHAMBERS, IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. IT BLEW MINE AND IT TOOK TWO DAYS OF NONSTOP EIGHT HOURS A DAY DOING THIS DRINKING LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF COFFEE I HAD TO WRAP, A COFFEE DOILY AROUND MY THUMB BECAUSE IT HURTS SO BAD BUT THE RESULTS NOW ARE IN MORE TENSION EQUAL SUCCESS EVERY TIME, NO MATTER HOW THE CYLINDERS ARE PINNED BECAUSE I TRIED MANY DIFFERENT KINDS AND IT DIDN’T MATTER. HOPE THIS HAS BEEN HELPFUL AND THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT.

    The numbers across the top after the word BE2 on the top of the pick is: 6-1 the
    Reverse is on the bottom of the pick: 1-6 termed correctly
    These are the chamber numbers not the pin numbers the pin numbers are on both sides of the rectangle by where my fingers are holding the pick front and back once you have picked the lock you can use the pick to decode the lock cylinder.
    Writing down the numbers from tip to bow.
    tip being the furthest into the lock cylinder and bow is the furthest out of the lock cylinder write those numbers down for each chamber, they coincide with the chamber numbers on the bottom of the pick not the top. The top are reversed And i’m dumbfounded why the top chamber numbers on the BE2 6 pin pick are transposed or reversed in order. What do you know about that? I see you’re confusion. Most people take that for granted I know I did. I never noticed you see the first cut on a best key is always the closest to the tip “lishi transposed the top numbers”🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂😂 good for you for catching that now the pin numbers can be cut by any Locksmith that has a code cutting machine matching the bottom chamber numbers on a BE2 lishi pick
    As for the BE2-7 your guess is as good as mine why they didn’t put the numbers on the bottom shame on them
    Very happy trails to you you get an A+ for your trying to explain this most difficult mess up from lishi

    Too bad they couldn’t make one for FM keyway similar to the SC20. That would be a game changer.

    Great video Mike, I appreciate your leaving in the failed attempts, definitely real world lock picking/smithing 🤣. They really should have called the Lishi a BE2A so the A keyway would be more obvious, especially if they ever do any others (🤞). Good thing SFIC cores don’t usually have security pins! Mako does make an A2 pinning kit that has spools and serrated pins, if you really wanted to go crazy 🤪 Thanks again Mike and nice picking (seriously-you did get an open!)

      Thanks a lot coming from a professional Locksmith that’s nice to hear I’m working on the seven Pin today and I must say I spent half a day and had very little success. Trying to pick this thing I’ve pinned several cylinders all different ways and it is seriously seriously tough practice I guess makes perfect. I have a # nine pin in there and the 9 pin is the problem child But I’m going to give this a go one way or the other even if it’s not a serious off the shelf seven pin small format you know one that I haven’t picked before these little cylinders are tougher than people think seriously I would probably Drill it after an hour you know what I mean

    • @doorandlocktips
      @doorandlocktips  7 місяців тому +3

      I’ve noticed now that the more you break in the cylinder to picking you know, a freshly pinned master pin cylinder, the easier it becomes for it to be picked, and these SFIC’s have a catch when you initially turn the key I don’t know if that’s the knock off General brand that I bought or I don’t know but once you get used to these problems in the cylinder itself, it seems to get easier it doesn’t mean it’s easy it’s still a big bummer oh, and I can pick it to control a lot easier than picking it to change key because control has no number nine pin

    • @doorandlocktips
      @doorandlocktips  7 місяців тому +2

      Update, I can pick the seven pin cylinder with ease by increasing the tension, fivefold
      starting with number one and working my way through two number seven. It works effortlessly every time within a minute and say 10 seconds each and every time different cylinders didn’t matter how they were pinned it works every time, who would think increasing the tension would change so much so fast and the Pinning direction from 1 to 7 instead of from 7 to 1 at least that’s my findings on the BEST CYLINDERS. HOORAY HOORAY IT ONLY TOOK 2 1/2 DAY. Oh, and I must add my thumb aching ha ha.😭😭😭 😢 🙂 🎸

    there are so many key ways on best ic core, there is 90% key ways you will not even have chance to penetrate through hole even.
    key way is significant.
    but if you have bump keys on all of those key ways, that's different story.

      According to this diagram, the FM key should fit A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H and J keyways. If you make your bump key from the FM key blank. Should not be as many keys needed for you to manufacture. Tell me what you think.

    Best IC Core Keys - FM (A1114FM / 1A1FM1)-FITS ABCDEFGHLQ
    This is a thin key that can fit into the following keyways: ABCDEFGHLQ. It is a great key for temporary use, but due its relative thinness, you should not rely on this key for permanent use.

    On the lishi BE2-6 what are the reverse BEST pin numbers on the bottom used for? Also why doesn’t the BE2-7 lishi have those BEST pin numbers across the bottom?

      Well the best I can explain is at the time 19:13 in your video if you pause it the numbers on the bottom of the tool that start with the word BEST in front of them you see (BEST 1,2,3,4,5,6). What are they used for? I was told they where for ordering a cut key for a BEST factory coded lock one that was pinned by the BEST Factory and if so why doesn’t the lishi BE2-7 have those numbers?
