Though I do adore a real dedicated speaking LED set, something fierce :) Guess the race is on :) One thing though, Mr. Daniels doesn't want his voice extracted into an AI at present time. (Peri did ask. It may be a renumeration issue, it may just be his preference, also might be a contractural issue (I believe garmin did use his voice for direction assistance a while back). No matter the case, as cool as it is, I doubt we're going to have Daniels voice available.
I have mixed feelings about that - it would be cool as hell to actually hear his voice in a realistic way as Kitt, but actors are paid for a role, and using their likeness or voice for ever amd ever with no income for them from the use of it doesn't feel right.

There was another KITT recreator on UA-cam that programmed KITT ChatGPT to really believe it was KITT, believing all the tv show episodes were actually missions, knowledgeable about all their plots. It also believed ‘you’ were the same Michael Knight that had accompanied them on all its missions.

The delay in answers, and the voicebox led module separate from the bezel brings Junk Yard Dog rebuild scene nicely in mind :)
Yeah this project needs some polishing, it's response time is a little slow, you can try this at home if you have a Alexis or Google home set you are able to change the voice. There is a topic on UA-cam on how to do that. So if anyone finds this topic let me know please. still searching for it.

Needs improvement, but it will get there. Latency is most likely due to the Pi. Also, are you sure it's talking to ChatGPT because the responses and delay seemed more like it was running a local compressed LLM? Anyway, I think the future is bright. I imagine some fan out there is going to build a KITT with full self driving and AI. It's only a matter of time now.

Interesting, just a little too many introductions of KITT. Does it learn if you say something like don't introduce yourself more than once in a day, session, or some other time frame? The delay in answers, and the voicebox led module separate from the bezel brings Junk Yard Dog rebuild scene nicely in mind :)

Once this thing is connected to ChatGPT 4o, the responses will be instantaneous, and it'll have much more variability in the voice tone.

Yeah this project needs some polishing, it's response time is a little slow, you can try this at home if you have a Alexis or Google home set you are able to change the voice. There is a topic on UA-cam on how to do that. So if anyone finds this topic let me know please. still searching for it.

Why would he say "I am the voice of.."? That was a quote from an episode and out-of-context in this environment. I prefer the line from Knightmares where KITT says "I'm the Knight Industries 2000."
Needs improvement, but it will get there. Latency is most likely due to the Pi. Also, are you sure it's talking to ChatGPT because the responses and delay seemed more like it was running a local compressed LLM? Anyway, I think the future is bright. I imagine some fan out there is going to build a KITT with full self driving and AI. It's only a matter of time now.
