  • Barry is the 2nd owner & current caretaker of this very rare Peterbilt 352 from 1968. Caterpillar power, 5&4 transmissions, and the first known set of 3.55 gears in a Peterbilt that era.

I love that ride, I would keep it all original myself. It would be a pleasure to drive a classic ride like that 👍

Good looking cabover. Great to hear he honor the previous owner and seeing himself as a caretaker. Great attitude sir. Wish you all the best. Greets from the Netherlands

That is one sweet Pete, it's Perfect. I haven't driven to many Cats but i love to own this one! I was the 2nd owner of a 1967 Pete conventional walk in Mercury sleeper big cam 3 5X4 it was stolen!

Rode with my Dad in a 72 cab over Pete for years as a kid. He hated the truck and ended up getting a 68 Kenworth conventional. Wish we still had them both!

Love how he looks as is as "I'm just the caretaker!" that's so awesome. Plus just my opinion, Original untouched trucks like this are yes not only rare survivors but the best ones... show trucks are cool and all but only if they where Born that way. This ones a true worker.

John South lived just north of my home in lime Springs Ia. You always knew when that truck was going by the house it literally would rattle the windows on the house. The story about the stack is 💯 true cause John told my the same story about passing cali emissions.

That is one rough ride. I remember driving those in the 1970s. Talk about jarring your teeth.

    Really nice Peterbilt 352, that
Shade of green is great! They
did a good job restoring this
    352.

REALLY LIKE THE FACT THAT IT HAS A 1693 CAT MOTOR TURBOED AND AFTERCOOLED I'M ASSUMING 5AND FOUR TWO STICK DROVE SEVERAL QUITE SOME TIME AGO SOME WOULD RUN LIKE CRAZY AND SOME THAT DID'NT. ONE VERY LARGE AND HEAVY HEAD. AND WOULD CACKLE LIKE CRAZY AND SMOKE BLACK SMOKE BUT YOU COULD CONTROL THAT WITH THE THROTTLE.

Real cool interview. Glad Barry showed respect to John South and didn't stretch it out. That was a Massive truck in 1968. Think about how many guys got their doors blown off by "John South". Damn I thought Greyhounds were fast

Great truck. As long as everything still works, it is so cool to have it be original. I wouldn't modify it.

I owned a sixty eight Pete. Had 318 Detroit. Only thing I didn’t like about it. Stacks were cut into back corners of cab. And didn’t care for Detroit diesel. It was old when I bought it. Beautiful truck you got there. Looks like new.
