I am an interior designer. I buy only real wood because laminate always gets damaged. You could buy 2"x4" cut to size 3-4 lengthwise then 2 on the short ends and screw them together and attach the base. That way you have a sturdy top and the bottom gets salvaged.
You are the second minimalist, this eve, who said, " I hate over head light." Did my heart good to hear it, cause I swaer I thought I was the only one who hates the over head lighting in their apt. 😂😂😂 👍👍👍
No need to dump the 'kitchen/work table'. The framing for the table and bench look fine. Simply remove the tops and replace with real wood. Finish the wood with a clear varathane or similar finish and it will last for years and look very nice.
For your standing desk you can screw a bracket under the table. Then place an extension cable with outlets and just connect everything to that outlet. Then you will only have one cable. There's also these wires that can tug all the cables to one. Let me know if if it works
Give me a tiny minimalist apartment with a few plants and I'll be heaven! Me and my partner are currently living in a studio apartment and honestly I can't imagine living in anything bigger anymore! 🌴🍃
I think it might help if you mount the TV to the wall. Just to free up that little bit of extra space. It makes a huge difference. Home Depot sells a studless mount that allows you to basically hang it on the wall like a picture frame. You can also order one on Amazon that way you can't potentially violate your lease by drilling holes in the wall. All you'll need is a hammer and the pilot needles that come with it 👌🏽
Thanks for sharing about your life! Its super cool to see how people in other parts of the country live. Also great to learn about your minimalist lifestyle.
Looks awesome dude! ONE CRITICISM!!! You need cord management behind that TV haha! It's super easy to do too and would clean it up to keep that minimalist look
Great part 3 of a less and less minimalistic apartment. Short question. Did you use a voice recorder and synchronized it with your montage or did you use the mice for direct voice in? Sound really good and I like to improve my sound quality a bit more for my vids but not feeling so comfortable to use an audio recorder as it’s a lol but more work to edit it.
I also live in Brooklyn in a fairly old house (idk about you) and my bedroom especially gets very dry even though it's always warmer and stuffier than the rest of the house, a humidifier saved my sinuses, skin, and eyes the day i got it; it's never a bad thing to have in a smaller space. Also Ghosty is one of the best bits of the apartment.
Yes, it's very common to just have a thing running. When I sleep I run the heater or air conditioning. In the day people to run their TVs to have background noise.
ElectricReviews or he can just keep using it until it’s worn out. I mean it’s funny how we declutter for the sake of our items not owning us but it seems that the items that are left still owns us and we feel like we need to replace it for better things for the eye when it’s still fine....
Funny enough, watching your 2nd minimalist apartment tour made me your subscriber and I must say, your place is looking pretty cool! I want to have a place like that one day.
I've heard that apartments in NYC are very expensive and small. Your apartment looks fairly roomy and not that small. I live a 'minimalist' lifestyle, myself, and can fit everything I own inside my little Toyota hatchback, which includes my Japanese-made twin-size bed that folds nicely and fits in the car. I have a dog and she goes in the front passenger seat during these moves. I move to different places around the country about once a year, or two. My job allows this, which is nice. I'm just casually searching for that 'place' that feels comfortable and is also affordable. I thought about going to Brooklyn where I have a few friends, but the expense is a concern. The availability of prepared food 24/7, that New York City is known for, is attractive to a guy who doesn't like to cook. The past few places where I've lived are Connecticut, Arizona, Oahu, Kauai, the Florida Keys, Portland, Vancouver, Coeur d'Alene and currently West Palm Beach. I'm currently looking at Austin, for my next stop. I'm a bit Nomadic. Thanks for opening up your home for all of us to view. All the best!
I love you and your content bro, but I think it is time to say goodbye to the “minimal” title bro 😂 this coming from a studio rat with waaaay too much shit in my life.
Just buy a piece of plywood and replace the table top with a real wood top! The metal base is still solid. Unbolt the top, have Home Depot cut a new top from 3/4 furniture grade plywood, Sand, stain or cover with Poly-vinyl clear. And bolt onto the top!
you've actually inspired me to keep on working on my youtube channel activities and actually make content mate. Its the beauty of watching intermediate/ upcoming youtubers you've actually made me feel like i can also do it. unlike watching Pros where its all just admiration and looking at their expensive c200 film cameras and perfect lighting and colour grading skills, But watching you i feel more connected and enabled. Thanks mate.
you accumulated a lot more stuff! funny that's kind of what happened to me when i got rid of all my stuff and one week i was on a buying spree.. my desire of having stuff was like drinking alcohol after not drinking for a year. And of course, the same hangover came too :P
It was nice to get some apartment inspiration from this vid. Do you have a link for the floor lamp you have in your room? The tungsten, low, ambient lamp?
Hi, I like your design for the apartment. BTW, I am confused that whether I should choose the 13-inch or 15-inch MBP. I found you choose the 13 one as laptop, any idea for this choice?
Love the tour, Kraig. I think you guys would love having a small water fountain in your apartment too. If you like the humidifier, you'll love a water fountain! Thanks for the tour!!
I really like the frame of the dinner table and benches. So if you haven't replaced it yet, you might want to try to replace the fake wood with actual wood. It seems easy enough and you won't have spent money on a table you never liked :)
I definitely enjoy your apartment tours and love how organize and clean everything is. But I miss how minimal your apartment was in your first tour. Anyway awesome videos and sooo inspiring , keep going :)
So cool how u thought about the light temperatures from ur screen and ur overhead light. I Never thought of that! Awesome vid man. Thanks for the update
I just love your videos . They are short with quality and make me giggle 😁That's nice that your girlfriend puts art up to make her feel more comfortable.
Digging India’s taste in art! That desk tho! Need one of those...also need to figure out how to rig my rx100 up for webcam use as well...my logic cam is shit. Thanks for tour 3.0
Kraig, you should get a German Beer Garden style table. They are super cool because they fold up completely (including the benches) which makes them great for minimalism but they still have a high quality style to them. The best ones are antiques and are a little pricier but have awesome character however lately I have seen newer ones on ebay for around $100 and since they are just steel and wood construction, I would imagine that the quality shouldn't bee all that compromised. I can't put a link in this comment since it will get it flagged but if you go on ebay and search: " 3 PCS Beer Table Bench Set Folding Wooden Top Picnic Table Patio Garden New " , you will find them.
See, I like minimalism, but I also like decor. I like a stylish staged home look, just with everything hidden away and organized. Everything has a place. No wires, nothing that doesn't look stylish, and no knick knacks lol.
Minimalism is different for everyone. The most general definition is living with the minimum that you need to be comfortable. So a student might only need 1 camera, but a videographer might need 20. Or an average hobbyist only needs a small set of paint, brushes and a few canvases but a painter needs an entire warehouse worth. Not only to live comfortably but to be able to work and do what you love
I've started becoming minimalist in most aspects of my life, but I live with my girlfriend and we make films and videos and stuff together, have a ton of stuff and I totally understand being more minimalist but not being able to get rid of as much as you want. I really like your approach.
I honestly liked how minimalistic your apartment was before- but that was how I think of minimalism. If you think of it this way, great! Love the video, can't wait for your next video!

"Hi, welcome to India's apartment. Oh, and I live here too, when she lets me."
(j.k.)
lol, it is what it is and it's ok lol. I'm still working on getting there.
You are the second minimalist, this eve, who said, " I hate over head light." Did my heart good to hear it, cause I swaer I thought I was the only one who hates the over head lighting in their apt. 😂😂😂 👍👍👍
My dude, cable management, I screamed when you raised your desk.
LOVED IT!!! plants are an upgrade for sure. super calming space and video

Do it.

“Minimalist” my ass your apartment is way big!!! Also you have so much stuff
@Rollo Treadway if it makes them happy, it serves a purpose
Do you have a book or a blog ? How do you charge your canon camera in the middle of your computer set up??
Love it Kraig, being a minimalist is great for workflow and a peaceful mind :)
Give me a tiny minimalist apartment with a few plants and I'll be heaven! Me and my partner are currently living in a studio apartment and honestly I can't imagine living in anything bigger anymore! 🌴🍃
Smile with Mel my partner and I live in a 180 sq ft apartment and we love it!
I have 1200 sq ft house and it is not enough :)
@@Kamath.venkat you are bad .
The humidifier is great for that plant you have! NO wonder it looks lush and healthy!

I like the plants and art India set up. Adds more cozyness without it being too much
You could always add those little table corner covers to hide the damaged part. Plus there are ones that protect your hips...for when you bump it.
humidifiers are typically used in the winter to put moisture in the air. Or if you like the "smoke." Whatever. nice video
Just replace the fake wood on that piece with real wood. You can have a woodworker do it if the base is strong enough.
ElectricReviews or he can just keep using it until it’s worn out. I mean it’s funny how we declutter for the sake of our items not owning us but it seems that the items that are left still owns us and we feel like we need to replace it for better things for the eye when it’s still fine....
@@ailov3 Right? I mean, the defect part is really easily band-aid-able with plaster or something like that.

Agree about ceiling lights. The worst is if it's fluorescent. I find it depressing.
I would probably put some sort of nonflammable coaster under that candle so that the heat doesn't put a burned in circle on that nice coffee table.
I love you and your content bro, but I think it is time to say goodbye to the “minimal” title bro 😂 this coming from a studio rat with waaaay too much shit in my life.
my day was terrible!!! this made it so so so much better
You can easily replace the particle board table tops to be real wood
Hi Kraig, good day. can you send me a link for the portable green screen? I really like it, and interested and buy it. Thanks
Great video, love the simple clean setup. Where did you buy the motorized table? I peeked through your kit but did not see it.
is the photo at 5:25 a photo of Walter White's house?
These tours cleanse my mind dude, love it

Love the ending with Alex! Dope!
Just got some article furniture myself. You should check out their dining tables... good stuff.
thankfully the amazon desk I ordered didn't get damaged in transit. I'm no minimalist but I do prefer simple efficient solutions to home design.
The OCD in me is telling you to center your couch with the acoustic wall and then add like an Edison light from the corner ceiling :)
Mikelo Pamatmat Thought the same about centering the couch 🛋👍🏻
You can return the table back to Amazon...thank God I never had to return anything because everything I order comes in good condition

Love the minimal aesthetic! I'm curious about where you got the large lamp next to your desk?
Kraig Adams thanks! Keep creating great stuff! Also love the new post on Instagram!
Ben Huynh
Not a minimalist
Wow, you got that couch from Vancouver? Why Vancouver?(curious, since its far from NY)
What operating system are you using? Seems Windows X does not allow for dual monitors.
Omg that elgato green screen is genius

Dude, you are the man! I love this series so much.
This is my dream home as a young adult after high school, it’s simple yet so intriguing and artistic.
Your apartment looks beautiful !!!!
this shows, that you don't need much space (less costs) when you don't own much OR can organize your stuff you have quite well
So simple nicely styled and clean.
Are Apple products mandatory for minimalists? Every single minimalist's vid I have seen sports at least a mac or iphone.
Because of their quality and simplicity. Also it's better to have their ecosystem (iOS and OS X) instead of Windows and Android.
Stratos Ecosystem? It's not a living organism. I agree though that iOS is much better than android (full of crap double apps for everything).
This is a great video tour! I've always loved your vids but definitely pulling some inspiration from them now! Cheers!
Same, dont like overhead light
Love that mini fireplace. Where did you get it? Great vids as always.

Soft diffused tungsten light at night is key I totally agree :`D
Great to see your apartment evolve and India slowly taking over haha
I love that fake fireplace. Where did you get it? My place is always so cold and would love to get a pretty space heater.
5:03 no way you're using a monopod (guessing Manfrotto) as a 'tripod' I know it has them feet at the bottom BUT how are you trusting it!?
