      Chinese feel American products are cheap crap too. I definitely disagree with my people since it's not the trust. If you don't like it, just don't buy it. There is no need to attack another countries because you don't like OEM parts.

      @@yanghu3592 problem is most of the manufactures are now being processed over seas in China and other countries. That you can blame on America with Capitalism. But I don't like speaking politics. I work for a specific auto manufacture that their products are built over seas. The problem is not about the country but it's about specific standards that are not enforced by quality control. The result ends up with detrimental failed new components, longer diagnostic time, recalls, and expensive replacements that shouldn't be needed. In the auto industry time is money and techs don't want to invest anymore time that is needed when doing g a job. Having to repeat a repair because of a defect in the product is simply frustrating to say the least.

    A good way to condemn the fuel pump driver module is to jumper pins 4 and 8 (ground) and jumper pins 1 and 5 (power). With the key on the fuel pump should run constant.

    I changed this original OEM part on my wife's 2014 Flex when it failed to start about 5 or 6 years ago. I replaced it with a Dorman from the local auto parts store. It has worked fine up until now, where it is having exactly the same symptoms as the car in this video ( starts then stalls). Just got back from the Ford dealer with the Motorcraft part, only $34 vs the Dorman which is now $56 at the auto parts store. Thank you so much for the video.

    Although not a failure from using it (yet), Dorman makes a universal, no programming required Fuel Pump Flow Control Module for 07-13 GM pickups/SUVs. We had a customer bring in a 2010 5.3 and he installed a Dorman FPFCM in it since his failed. GM's requires the dealer to program it as its a new one is blank.
    He put it in and truck wouldn't run...so he dropped it off to have it programmed. All it needed was the one or two 20amp fuses that always blow when the OE FPFCM fails (aka corrosion on the inside from water intrusion). I spotted the Dorman unit under the truck to the tech, he checked the fuses (they were blown), put two in it and boom fired right up. So customer never even checked to see if he had a good fuse, and then failed to even realize that the Dorman FPFCM was "ready to use" out of the box.

    I get that you don’t like Dorman because they’re not OEM and made in Chee-na, but remember that at some point someone had to replace the OEM module because that original part broke too. It could just be that something else is causing the module(s) to break after some time. Perhaps look into what can be causing those modules to go bad instead of assuming it’s because it’s a Dorman. I’m not defending Dorman, just trying to get to a possible root cause in case it happens a third time.

Sometimes it would not even start on the first start cycle, but would start immediately on the second cycle. Always started fine while cold. Seems i had one or more bad port injectors that were leaking down while the engine was hot. I don't have a way to test them so i replaced all 6. Problem solved. Seems like a rare problem and just figured i would share in case you or anybody else runs into this problem. I have been troubleshooting a no start on my 2015 F150. Code P025A. At FPCM pin 1 has 12v. Pin 5 has zero volts. I bought a new FPCM from Ford dealer and installed same symptoms. I back probed pin 5 on connector and I unplugged connector check pin on side that plugs into module pin is good not pushed back or loose. I have continuity from pin / module side to back side where I'm backprobed, I checked that to verify that my meter lead is making connection. For ground I ran a wire to battery neg cable and even tried at pin 4. Still not measuring any voltage with new FPCM. I thought maybe the new FPCM was bad. I'm measuring at pin 5 while someone is starting the truck for me. I unplugged to connector and check continuity between pin 5 and 8 and it is .5 ohms. At this point I'm not sure if I have a bad fuel pump loading it down and the new FPCM is bad. My next thought was to drop the gas tank and unplug power connector from the fuel pump and measure the voltage at the fuel pump. I wanted to see what your thoughts on this were. My local Ford dealer told me it will be 30 - 40 days before they can get to it so if I end up taking it to shop I will have to try and fine another shop that can get to it sooner.

Replaced crank sensor and fuel pump, fuel rail pressure sensor. Sucky part is when it’s at work it won’t give me the problem so I can’t hook up the IDS. • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  2 роки тому

      Well it's probably time for the fuel pump driver module to be replaced anyway and it's under the back seat on the passenger side there's two black plastic tabs underneath the edge of it that slide forward and release the tension on the front of the seat change it anyway it sold it needs to be changed and you have nothing to lose by doing it
      Chances are if you are getting some fuel it's probably the fuel pump but I would start with the fuel pump driver module anyway anytime I do a fuel pump I do the fuel pump driver module as well
