This man is probably twenty years my senior and he can play AND dance rings around me. Baruch Ha Shem for bringing such a talent into the world. Play on, for I must stop and weep.
This is what fiddle/ violin playing is all about traditionally! Fun and entertainment for everyone. So much energy and inviting spirit of music to share and enjoy. Nothing about Jewish or religious affiliation to it. It's the same for French Canadian fiddle tunes, Irish tunes, Romanian tunes, Gypsy, Blue Grass, etc. Real virtuoso playing is essentially this. Easy, fun and fast. What does this have to do with religious arguments? This guy is doing exactly what a fiddler on the stage should do. Rock and Rolling it really good. Perfect entertainer with a fiddle. We all in this business can learn something from him. I am very inspired. Thank you!
His fiddling is way, way better than his dancing - but I love the fact that he can't stop himself. Such skill! Such joy! Such sheer, undiluted love! Gloriously uplifting. God bless you, Daniel Ahaviel - and a big "thank you" to SKTribute for sharing this.
Daniel Ahavel is one if the best fiddlers in the world!! If somebody doesnt like it because hes a hassidic jew...🙄🙄🙄🙄 Hes probably the best! (A lifetime musician and violinist)
It's not often that one sees a musician having so much fun playing music. Daniel Ahaviel is great. He exudes simcha through his music. Also, to be able to play the way he plays while dancing requires tons of technique. Yasher Koach!
speaking as a lifetime klez musician who paid his way through law school playing at weddings and bar mitzvahs and later at Chasidic weddings where all different kinds of " specialty " artists showed up...this guy is phenomenal !!!
I was most fortunate to have an upfront view of Daniel performing in London on dozens of occasions. He is by far the most gifted musician I have ever seen, pure passion for both his religion and audience.
I notice many influences of many traditional styles: naturally Hebrew, but also Rumanian, Ukrainian, Russian, American Country, Irish style. That is a joy for myself, these variety of styles, these perfection of playing the instrument - simply phenomenal and fantastic!
The first song that took the first 5 minutes is almost a ballet, there's a very specific dance to it and the style my be Russian, but the words are pure chasidic. The song is called hup chazak and it entails some kind of disagreement where a man dies and his friend prays for his soul to be returned.the joyous part is where the prayer is answered. For you christians out there it's one of our problems with your theology. Bringing a dead person back to life does not make you even a prophet, never mind what you guys claim
I'm just after reading over a Number of Comments made which have no bearing what's so ever on the Original Intention of this Video...why do some People have to twist and distort everything to gain Attention for themselves and their aims...it saddens me that the World has sunk to this level when even Music is attacked...this Man...be he Jewish/Christian/Atheist/White/Black/ is totally immaterial...Please see him for the pleasure and enjoyment he brings to Audiences wherever he goes and leave your Hatred and Bigoted Comments out...
Sometimes you just have to overlook them, David. Maybe that's easier for me than it is for some, as I don't have that kind of trash directed toward me on a daily basis. I just found this saved in my favorites and listened to it again. So much fun! I saw your comment below about the Irish Blood and can't help but notice that he seems to switch up between Klezmer and Bluegrass at points. It makes me think that Saul the Peddler must have stopped and traded a few licks with the Appalachian Scotts and Irish fiddlers, as he traveled though the mountains, in days gone by. It made me think of this song, "Mordechi", sung by the Bluegrass picker, Josh Williams. Also, an old episode of Bonanza "The Way of Aaron", that I stumbled on one night, which completely fascinated me. I'm including the links for the songs, one an album version, because the words are clearer, and the other a live recording, because it has the added bonus of a little "guest" singer halfway through the song. --- ua-cam.com/video/Cc13iWo1mS8/v-deo.html --- ua-cam.com/video/7vBo0ptYJNs/v-deo.html
So amazing! Absolutely love this, a great honor to be able to see this! I for one, appreciate your beautiful love for our great, and only "ONE" ....G_D !! I am catholic, but i love the Jewish people so very much! ♥♥♥♥♥♫♫♥♥♥♥♥♫♫
What a delight! I love how he transitions from Hasidic to Celtic to bluegrass and is so at home with multiple genres. His dancing is so joyful and energetic--he actually brought to mind Chuck Berry (different genre and instrument but also dancing while he joyfully plays). For anyone unfamiliar, search here on UA-cam for some of his live performances, especially in the 50's and 60's--Maybellene, Johnny B Goode, Roll Over Beethoven, etc.
Hello, Tom, what a cute name you have for yourself there. Thank you for your comment and now it's 9 years since I first saw this. And I'm so glad that you and another person brought me back to watch this delightful video ahsim. I would challenge anyone to watch this and not have a huge smile on their face. blessings to you, @ThomasPaineintheArse
Fantastic, the joy of his skill and the joy of the music lighten my heart. Surely this is something we can all share and just enjoy for the purity of joy.
I was expecting Mark O'Connor, but WOW? I love fiddle music so this was a very pleasant surprise. The fun part was watching him move around as he plays. He can probably juice up a wedding reception.
Whoa! wonderful, full of life, the music and him....what a gift to have seen this. May YHWH bless him, keep him and shine on him. He blessed me and inspires me. English lady over 60! :-)
What a musician: talent, happiness and fun all around. It seems as if he's just warming up near the end of the video and I'm curious on how it continues. Really enjoyed this, thanks for posting
Haste to the Wedding at 6:13... a grand Irish reel. Then Whiskey Before Breakfast and back. Then American fiddle tunes. Great mix, great dance music all. What fun!
@@mendelberkowitz8235 No Mendel, that was not all chassidic music. He was most definitely mixing styles freely. I have played Jewish music for 40 years, as well as other styles. More power to him.
Brilliant...Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish...He must have some "Irish Blood" in him...He'd be a big hit at an Irish Wake...Fair play to you Daniel...
Up Whats I hear you, Bro! What a pity these Kazaar theorists weren't around to inform Hitler..it would have saved lots of lives... They are Anti-semites - yet believe you are not Semites.Go figure!
Amen! Can not stop watching this video . What a great musician! My grand parents plaid violin. they are not here any more . And nephews and grands kids doing occasionally .

My God! I'm surprised his violin didn't burst into flames. He is way above awesome!
Music and dance seems to play a big part in the lives of Hasidic Jews, and it always looks and sounds so joyful to me.

What a wonderful, joyous violinist he is!!!! This makes my soul dance!!
I can't imagine the amount of time and dedication this man has put into this instrument, amazing
He could not avoid. Born for It; to bê the joyful fiddler o f God
All I can say is "Wow! and Amazing! -that was some performance- great musical talent while dancing and that was quite a pace he kept up."
Saw him twice in Israel as an unexpected treat. Once, at an outdoor concert in Netanya, and another time as a soloist at my nephew's wedding.
Have you seen him a third time?
This dear man is incredibly talented and full of life! I so enjoyed this music.

Wow! Such outstanding talent! Love his playing and dancing! A true showman! 😀❤👍🙏🎵🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻
The look on the faces of the guys behind him crack me up! They are thinking they are now out of a job! 🤣❤
Beautiful. Love Israel and the Jewish people.
Great respect for the virtuoso's skills - world musical mastery!!!

Truly the spirit of the Lord is with him, and moves his soul to play such incredible music, so brilliantly.

Amazing violinist.
Fantastic!!!! I would have loved to be there, I have listened more than 3 times already
I can say as an atheist this music is great, doesn't matter that the guy is an Isreali Hasidic Violinist, he's just a great Violinist.
Fantastic!!! I love that play and music! It reminds me of my Ukrainian heritage husband.
I've never seen a bearded , violinist Playing and dancing at the same time like that. Riverdance can't come near this.
What a musician: talent, happiness and fun all around. It seems as if he's just warming up near the end of the video and I'm curious on how it continues.
Really enjoyed this, thanks for posting
I recognize the song at 6:14.."Haste To The Wedding" an traditional Celtic piece! Great player!
This is a "one guy orchestra", owesome!!!
Wow. He's just wonderful! Hasidic Blue Grass
Why is NO ONE smiling? This guy is fantastic!
Haste to the Wedding at 6:13... a grand Irish reel. Then Whiskey Before Breakfast and back. Then American fiddle tunes. Great mix, great dance music all. What fun!
you got the song all wrong !!!! he was playing a hasidic meledy from russia.

+Up Whats .....That comment was meant as a Figure of Speech...it's totally immaterial what Blood he has in him...don't take everything literally...
Why can't everyone just enjoy the music without bringing up silly politics and conspiracy's!
Up Whats Whatever David PUKE holds is not even worth the time mentioning..
Up Whats I hear you, Bro! What a pity these Kazaar theorists weren't around to inform Hitler..it would have saved lots of lives...
They are Anti-semites - yet believe you are not Semites.Go figure!
Up Whats I heard a better one:
ain't believe Jesus existed - yet it was the JEWS who killed him..
That first tune is a very original version of the Rebbe Reb Elimelech of Lizhensk's nigun (tune).
Amen! Can not stop watching this video . What a great musician! My grand parents plaid violin. they are not here any more . And nephews and grands kids doing occasionally .
