As a photographer, I checked the option with checkpoints you described. I think this Nik Collection update is fantastic and gives a lot of flexibility when editing photos and having fun with photo manipulation. I am very impressed and have great respect for the French engineers from the DXO team. At the moment, Photoshop is just a small addition to the workflow, where if you think about it, you can also make a vignette on the image, where you exclude the darkest parts of the image from the effect of the vignette when you use a negative brightness mask. Greetings from Poland, from the city of "Przemyśl Fortress". Ps. I come up with such ideas thanks to people like you who devote their time to showing a fraction of their knowledge. Great respect for you and creators like you. Unfortunately, I don't speak English and it's difficult for me to use many of your contents, especially live, because I have no way of translating them.
That was one of the first things I noticed after installing Nik 7. In fact, I had meant to go to your review video and add a comment but forgot. Glad you found them. I'm really enjoying the latest Nik, they really have done a power of work on this version.
Thanks. It wasn't something that I had considered although I use the Option key a lot with other applications to invert the behaviour of something. I never considered it with Control Points because the Option key was for duplicating. I'm glad they continue to support that.
@@RobinWhalley It's not the most intuitive operation even with the hint. I initially thought I had to use ALT when pressing the icon, then discovered that it's when positioning the UPoint that you need to press ALT. Once you know to look for the little minus sign on the cursor it's fine but the first time I tried I thought it didn't work!
Yeah that second part is good to know. Removing it altogether from the sharpening filter seemed like a big miss. Don't love that it's semi hidden, but do love that it's still there. Thanks, Robin.
Can anyone tell me how I purchase Nik Collection ? I've tried several times but wouldn't let me purchase with a promo code ! where do i get this promo key ? .... Regards Zoomer
I'm not aware of any discounts at present. If you are upgrading and already have a DxO account, the product page inside your account would give you any discounts you quality for.
I thought about this for a while when I found out what had changed and I can see why they did it. The interface would become very cluttered because you would need a negative option for each of the new tools as well. I think the mistake was not making it more obvious how to access them.

I agree, but once you know how it works it’s very easy to use.
Robin Whalley, This video is fantastic! I liked it a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.

Glad to have helped. Thank you.
The change with negative control points aligns the UI with PhotoLab which does make sense.
That's very true. I just wasn't expecting to have multiple uses for the same shortcut key, although it works well.
Excellent and helpful.
Glad it was helpful. Thank you.

There is 20% off everything on their site at the moment. No promo code needed.
Thanks for showing a “hidden” feature.
You're very welcome.
They should have kept negative control points as is. Just confusing, as evidenced by your goodself not understanding what was going on.
