Well, it's a real treat to have a live-action shot of T-H-E Cliff House pre-incineration, along with scads-o-denizens milling about and not ONE alive-still !! 😣😮💨 HEY -- @silentfilmhouse, thanks mucho for this very special past view .
What on earth is that structure at the beginning? Isn’t that where Playland Park was located? Was it a hotel? I don’t remember ever reading about anything else on that stretch of the road.
San Francisco. Ocean Beach. That big building near the end burned down many years ago. Rebuilt, then burned down again. Then rebuilt. Was a restaurant. Now closed I believe.
This is in San Francisco. The large building you see on the "Cliff" is called the "Cliff House" It is still there today..
rkstew actually, this Cliff House tragically burned down
Not this one. This one is several rebuilds earlier than the current (much smaller) one.
I would've loved to see that during its time.

Everyone at the beach in full suits is crazy 😂
A beautiful, steady pan shot ... in 1903! And not as famous as the "first" pan shots in The Great Train Robbery - also in 1903.

It’s the Sutro Baths that was never rebuilt.
