This video is terrible. The helpful part, the reason why people come to youtube, is two things. Which coolant to use? That could have been included. And, where the fill line is.
Yes, terrible. I do have a 2016 GLA 45 AMG, and this weekend, right before starting on a long trip, the "low coolant" message came up on my dash. So I immediately stopped at the nearest available parking lot, looked under the hood, and it seemed like it was topped off. So, being that you CANNOT see any blatant markings to determine whether your low or not, I decided to go to the nearest auto parts store and buy a jug of "European Approved" Coolant. I started to add a little, but it seemed like it wanted more and more. I think I added about a good 1/2 qt. Haven't had an issue since then. I believe, and this is a big GUESS, that there is a 'T' vertical plastic measuring stick inside the reservoir that probably lets you know that if the fluid is above it, you are good-to go. Again, this is only my guess, since there are no marking on the outside, and there is no clear instruction in the owner's manual, other than, TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST MB DEALER SO THAT YOUR WALLET CAN BE DRAINED! Now, I also thought that opening the reservoir while hot was a bad idea, but the guy at the auto parts store just slowly opened it, to release any hot steam pressure, without an issue. I obviously stepped to the side while he was doing this, since I've never dealt with a German cooling system. Now, I'm not saying to open it while its hot, I'm just saying that I saw this guy do it in front of me without any issues.
