Such a beautiful, creative, tender yet power song. Just discover Josh Garrels last week and it has been a huge blessing and comfort listening to this entire album. Maybe it’s silly, but I’ll tell you the scene that the intro to this song evokes in my mind:
The Son is leaving heaven for His mission on earth. There is a grand and solemn ceremony in heaven to mark the occasion and see Him off.
He is walking solemnly along the “red carpet of a king” lined on both sides by singing angels. He is all powerful, almighty, king of kings. As He approaches His “departure” to the earth the singing of the angels swells.
Then we hear a cry of a man’s voice, which sounds like a man, but is really a baby.
Once more the baby “cries out” again, more loudly and clearly.
He had arrived on earth as a helpless baby, Mary’s son.
