The M2 is slowly growing on me. Really didn't like it at first but now with the aftermarket patrs comign out it seems like you can make these looks pretty good and aggresive
IMO having a darker color on it, like black, makes it a lot more palatable too. The light blue you see them in really draws your attention to some of their really weird body lines.
Dont get me wrong the g87 m2 aftermarket potential is so great. It crazy how a m2 is 4000 pound now. I thought the m2 is supposed to be this lighter nimble car. 2023 Cayman is still 3100lbs.ND Miata got lighter than the NC Miata. How BMW managed to make a rear drive G87 M2 300lbs HEAVIER than a 4-door, AWD, Audi RS3 is actually impressive.
@mperformance3502 The same can be said about most sports/super/hypercars. Most of them are ugly as hell but people love them because of what comes with the package.
I absolutely love the interior and the engine in the new M2 but when you compare this one to your OG I just can't accept the looks of the new one at all although Chris' is probably the best example I have seen. Thanks to you I am already prepping my list of bits to buy for my M2 I am hopefully picking up spring 24 :)

I wish I had money for one. The G87 M2 is amazing and everyone complains because of how it looks. If I were super rich right now, I would buy the G87 M2. I made a video where I put the best rims (wheels) on the G87 M2, and I also put the best spoiler wing for the M2 cars on it. I also showcased the car with different colors. It completely changes the car. The problem with the car is companies keep choosing to place entirely all black wheels on stock sports cars. Black wheels only look good with machine lip, polish, or chrome edge. They demonstrated this car with a bad choice for rims, or wheels. I plan to save up money and sell my stock 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8 and buy an M240i xDrive. If I get rich, I will buy the new G87 M2. People are really sleeping on this car. S58 is the new 3JZ.
And to think, I got flamed when Thicwhip said the G87 was an abomination and he’d never want one, and I said he’d change his mind in 6 months. Shocking, here we are.

The M2 is growing on me I never thought I'd like it in Black but I think it's the best colour. The boot/trunk is perfect. I've never really been a fan of wings that stick on. Stance wheel great 👍
I did NOT like the G87 when it was first released. I talked so much trash about it... Over time, as all new BMW designs do, it grew on me. This video had a huge part in changing my mind. I just put my order in for this same spec in Toronto red on Thursday :D Can't WAIT (now I need to save up for this exhaust setup 😅)
Love the mods - the CF trunk, the other CF pieces, especially the LM's - but in the end, Butthead was right - "you can't polish a turd", though this was a valiant effort. Brilliant car as long as you don't have to look at it.
It's going to take some time for me to get used to it. I'm so used to my E Series cars that even the G20/G8X screens are new to me, let alone these giant wrap around screens.. BUT, I will say from a tech perspective its pretty neat. As long as it doesn't take away from the actual driving experience Im here for it.
G87s are SICK... They have the proper bmw kidney grill design and M bumper but just modernized and more angular which is fine and looks great with the front spitter added... Anything is better than the G80 fascia imo but I'm a BMW purist from way back so I'm not open to radical design changes... I really see the G87 M2 as a new E36 with those angular lines but it also has widebody flares similar in feel to the E30 M3... Would have loved to see clear on top, red on bottom tail lights though.... But it's definitely the best RWD S58 car... If you have to have the AWD and are going for 1/4 mile times... M4 comp is still better for that... but for anything else.. the M2 is the better car. Would love to see one on the channel
I’ve never liked those kinds of wheels 🛞. The brand yes, but those only if they were black or a darker colour. Also, the Center cap could be a black and white BMW floating logo.

I do have a question about all these mods. Doesn’t BMW void the warranty when tampering with the vehicle to such an extent? Here in India they’ll snap off the warranty even if you tried to pinch the wires…
Come on Thic. You know you want one. I would do it in a heartbeat if I had a youtube channel like you. Catch a new wave of subscribers and grow like you did with the A90 Supra. This G87 is a beast.
The G87 looks like a Lego set designed for ages 3+ (many share this opinion, I didnt make it up). Also, it's much more digital than most performance cars a true automotive enhusiast would be comfortable with. It's a hard pass for most people, myself included. It will never grow on me. But for the new crop of enthusiasts, looks like a great option - it's new, it's fast, comes in manual, and has lots of screens. 🎉

Looks good in black but at this price point I’d rather pay a bit extra and get into a lightly used Porsche. I had the G87 for a week and currently own the OG. The G87 is super quick but the driving experience is very insulated and feels less raw. The old school charm is gone with the G87
Somebody just watched vehicle virals and got scared 😂😂 it’s not warped rotors btw. It is 100% electronic issue related, my vote is abs system. You can hear it freaking out. Warped rotors or bad pads will not make that noise. As far as warranty, anyone relying on a dealership after mods is not the brightest. The moment I buy a car from a dealer, I do not return. Dealerships are not your friend and they are not the smartest in the room. I’ve got independent techs that are far better at their job.
Well, “best” is sort of subjective here. I like the m2 because of its size, wheelbase and overall how it feels on the road and in the corners. The g80 would be better for straight line speed, roll races and the ability to carry passengers at the same time. Just depends on what you prefer
@@ThicWhips what? The reason I bought the F82 was the head up Display and the full leather interior wasn’t available in the older M2. I drive them daily and long distance so this is important to me.
Different cars entirely: Supra for straight line speed and affordable power, m2 for corners and s58 power. Gotta look at the bigger picture when comparing chassis and advantages.
Or just buy a M240i x-drive and go faster than both in a straight line until they put x-drive in a soon to be already revised M2 most likely. Then there will be a limited GRMN Supra or some nonsense as well. Long term it seems the B58 is winning on the reliability side of things so far.
@@ThicWhips The m2 isn't better in the corners though. It weighs 500 pounds more. That's worse cornering, worse braking (with equalized brakes), and more power/torque required to move 500 extra pounds of mass. The M2 might have better stock braking and fancy traction control, but overcoming the weight is a big issue. Mods are going to go farther on the Supra platform. The S58 is obviously a nice advantage though.
@@justsomerandomguyman Jackie Ding from PhD racing actually did time trials with his stock (at the time) G87 M2, and found that stock-for-stock, it was faster than the A90 Supra (both were equipped with the ZF8). As for weight concerns, I recall Kazutoshi Mizuno - the chief engineer of the R35 GTR - saying he wanted the GT-R to be heavy (3,850lbs) because it gave better traction, but I suppose this philosophy probably looks foolish compared to someone like Colin Chapman - founder of Lotus - who famously said, "Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere."
@@drjk7565 It has an S58 with twin turbos and more power. So what? lol. Of course the stock car is going to be faster. BMW isn't going to let a collaboration car outperform an M car. But the Supra will have higher potential overall when modifying.
