i live up the interstate from this place in rogers minnesota. i have had a few of their implements over the years, they are on the light duty side, and your tractor is too powerful, they are made for sears and deere and cub cadet garden tractors. cat-0. if you have cat-1+ you're going to destroy them. these are cross made for ATV's and UTVs. anything less than 25HP. i went with the nortrak 48" which was about $150 more from northern tool store across the interstate from motoalliance that one is a solid cat1+ box blade worth every penny, unfortuneately my 445 has a load limit of comfort at the top of 350# and this nortrak is about 465# so it really struggles with that kind of weight, especially my ryan 36" core aerator which again i had to buy a nortrak core aerator 60" that is far lighter and not nearly as nicely made, but works well, i need longer bill spoons to replace the short ones which don't penetrate my soil as much as i am after for a good 4"-5" deep hole.
What a fun video. Sorry you bent the cutter. I think that box blade would be great for our area. We have no rocks, but a few roots. Still, not a bad value for the smaller tractors. I could see one on my T25.
For small sub compact tractors I think it would be great. It broke right where it was supposed to so I guess that’s a good thing overall. GIE? Keep on tractoring!
Seems like a adequate alternative? Does the Job Heck I have had 2 cutters snap in half on my Landpride just pulling them thru soil and catching on a root ! They aren’t the cheapest to replace so I don’t see that being a deal breaker on your box blade Thanks for sharing Phil
Yes I think a heavy duty version would have broke a scarifier too. Seems to do the job for what I use it for. I don’t think my BX has enough power to tear it up too badly. Keep on tractoring!
I have one for my LS tractor and I used it to drag out hand size rock for along side of my building so I could get down to replace the metal siding and I was surprised nothing broke.
I have to finish some grading work behind my barn. I thought this might just do the job, if I was careful. But my soil is full of rocks, and after seeing that bent scarifier, I don't think it will work. Thanks for sharing. - Rick
Jon: it would be no good for me. I live around gravel pits and we have some pebbles that weigh about 50 pounds. Really good info for the viewers. Take care and stay safe.
I dream of a gravel driveway and low maintenance. Yours looks very good. My old driveway is in significant need of rebuilding...not maintenance. So far box blade, rear blade, and land plane all put to work in heavy duty application.
Hi Jon! “Light duty” is right! The bent scarifier is proof of that. Unfortunately my property is heavy duty (i.e. lots of rocks and roots) so I invest in heavy duty implements and have not regretted it. Still, it looks like a good economy buy for folks on a budget that have light duty property. Thanks for sharing!
I don't think any box blade would survive that rock. In any system there should be a planned point of failure to protect the other equipment. If the box blade is super rugged and the scarifier would not bend or break you would be replacing major parts of the tractor assuming the tractor could even pull it.
Normally a box blade would just slide over the top of a rock like that, or the rear blade would hit it and it would either bend or chip the cutting edge of the blade, but those scarifiers sticking down there will certainly not hold up to hitting stuff like that LOL.
Not very often but sometimes friends will ask me for help with something and once in awhile they even pay me. Works out great for me either way. Tractor time is always fun! Keep on tractoring!
Category 0...yep, not a sub-compact tractor tool, its to pull behind an ATV, UTV, or a garden tractor. $500, that's about 3/4 of what my box blade cost. The box blade in this video 130 pounds....a box blade for a tractor 300lbs and up...the one you have is definitely a light duty, and very light duty at that. You'll hit stuff with that thing and the tractor will never know, you'll just leave a trail of broke parts behind you as you go. None of those attachments they show on that page would be worth their asking price for actual tractor use, as you've already found out.
Yep, it’s definitely not a heavy duty boxblade. I actually picked it up used for a steal of a deal. Mainly just wanted it to make a few videos with. Trying to be honest to let people know they shouldn’t expect much. Maybe it’ll work out for a few people, who knows. Keep on tractoring!

I totally understand that,I help many neighbors all year most give gift cards and a few give cases of beer!!!
Looks like it would be suited for snow removal to compliment a front plow or snowblower.

When you buy cheap you get what you pay for. It’s still true today
I have one for my LS tractor and I used it to drag out hand size rock for along side of my building so I could get down to replace the metal siding and I was surprised nothing broke.
Good to know, I think tags rock I hit would bend ever the heavy duty scarifiers.

Good decision, it’s definitely not for everyone.

Every implement I own is bent....gives it character! If it ain't been welded, it ain't been worked!
Hey Brad! Thanks for watching. Have a great day.

Looks like it's a box blade at a lower price that has it's place! Thanks for sharing.

Yep, you would have it tore up in a short time I’m sure.

Place looks great Jon
Thanks Hank! Happy birthday to Wiley!

Hey Jon! Nice long driveway, and thanks for showing off the box blade. Sorry it broke. But good show
The driveway is a mile long with a lot of improvements that need to be done in different areas. Thanks for watching Ross!
Keep on tractoring!
I glad I don’t have any rocks over here. At my place

Have you hauled in any additional gravel yet? Sounds like a dusty job.

Just bought a Kubota box blade. Kind of glad I did now. It sucks but just hoping it could last longer for ya
It ain't broke unless you pull it off the tractor in pieces lol!

Really appreciate the review!
Great video, nice footage and shots! At least you’ll be able to replace that scafire?
Thanks Mike! It’s not something I plan to use too much. Still looking for a better one in the used market.

Cheaper not always better Jon
Usually not! 😂 However the same holds true for more expensive is not always better either.

Hey Jon do you hire out to pay for all those attachments for your BX looks like a lot of fun 😊☺️!!

I think that is most dirty I've ever seen your tractor. 😁
I’m glad at least someone noticed. 😁👍

Hopefully you are still looking at comments-did you have to drill out the holes for the 3 point lift/top link or did you find step up diameter pins ty
I used a smaller diameter pin. I think I borrowed the one from my receiver hitch. Not perfect but it works for me.
Keep on tractoring!
Thanks, shortly after I asked you I thought bushings, spent $11.00 at the hardware store and got a tight fit at all 3 points TY@@ritterjon
I'm kind of curious, is that a LIGHT DUTY box blade or a heavy duty box blade?! 🤣🤣🤣👨🚒
Oh she’s a heavy be alright! 😂😂😂
Keep on tractoring!
Ho yes it 's cheap I got one it's 72 inch much much biger .
Can you get a replacement tooth
Yes, I can get replacements.

@@ritterjon That is a great thing.

@@ritterjon I wonder how that landscape rake they have would do?
Good stuff
Thanks Brian! Hope all is well my friend!
Keep on tractoring!
Have you used it in snow removal
No I haven’t, I prefer the 6 foot angle blade I have with the rubber cutting g edge instead. Maybe I should try it. 🤔
Keep on tractoring!
Sorry Jon. But it was a light duty tool.
No doubt about it, I knew I needed to be careful and completely forgot about the huge rock. 😂
Keep on tractoring!
Definitely wouldn’t work on my rocky yard, I have the 54” landpride, and I have hit many rocks, it’s holding up so far.
