    thank you very much for your work Eric! amazing how you re-worked out these patterns! I have a quation though how do you know that they were not mathematicians. i mean didn't the ancient muslims even build buildings and mosques in these geometric complex patterns( ix aLhambra). Don't you need mathematical understanding to do so??

      Thanks Yunus. What I mean is that it is not necessary to calculate angles or make measurements to draw these patterns. Craftsmen knew how to make things with their hands, they used a pair of compasses and rulers for their design. It was enough for them and it can also be enough for us. The construction of geometric patterns is closely related to the construction of buildings.
