    Many other third-party render engines support s@instancefile... Octane and Arnold for sure support this in addition to Redshift. MOPs Set Sequence Time will work on any points with that point attribute automatically.

    Nice Paul! Theres so many ways to do this and I never know which to choose. Cool to see ur take on it.

      Thanks Rich. I agree. One of the cool parts of Houdini is how many ways there are to tackle something, this can also sometimes lead to a lot of confusion, for me as well!

    Big thanks for this one, Paul! Time is so annoying to work with. Will have to check out your Patreon soon ^^

      Thanks Mathias. Yeah, time is definitely a frustrating part of Houdini. Finding the right workflows can be tough.

    Super nice as always! But why you are not using directly the proxy obj node from redshift options? I meant first you will need to export the rs proxy sequence and then import it to the redshift proxy node, but at least you save yourselft from this vex code

    Hello, thank you for your tutorial ! Small question : how did you refresh de viewport ? Did you use a shortcut ?

    • @PaulEsteves28
      @PaulEsteves28  2 роки тому +1

      Good question!! I get so many viewport freezes that I mapped the Labs "reset viewport" to the "ctrl+t" it's a life saver!

      @@PaulEsteves28 i'm new to houdini and i did realise that the viewport doesnt like solvers. I'm gonna do the same thank you for the tip !

    May seem like a dumb question, but how do you add normals to points?

    If you have a beefy GPU like a 3090 or 4090 I suggest turning off the CPU completely in XPU with this environment variable: KARMA_XPU_DISABLE_EMBREE_DEVICE = 1
    It actually renders faster GPU only than with both GPU and CPU plus you get a more responsive system as the CPU can take care of the UI etc.
