I'll have to be very careful this month bcuz I placed a big order with FOR JARS already this month. And I bought a few more cases of jars at a couple of local stores. But the food, food processing items have all had great sales for June and July. But who can't use a bit more food in their pantries?

I paid a LOT of $$$ and bought dehydrated chicken and beef cubes that's sposed to last for 25 years. Guess what? It NEVER re-hydrates. I poured BOILING water over it and let it sit for 18 hours. It's DISGUSTING, HARD & INEDIBLE! ONLY freeze dried meat is edible & tastes good, right, real consistency. I will save the dehydrated crap for my dog, in case of emergency. But I feel sorry for her. Buy THRIVE freeze dried! It's YUMMY!
What brand did you get?
You can take grind/chop chicken/beef for patties like tuna cakes or add to gravy or put in soups
Canning lentils /meat I did it for Patty cakes they were great toss a little in homemade pot pies things like veggies I dehydrate then blender chop to dust or lite chop like cabbage egg plant ect toss in veg soup
I made a promise with God if you show me how to make it after my husband passed I won't waste anything I make ACV Orange cleaner my own bread crumbs for everything seasoned over rip bananas whipped in blender dehydrated makes get chews or after really dry for dust for oatmeal muffins
I too stocked up on shelf stable milk that tastes horrible, an important reminder to never stock up on anything you haven't tried & liked. I will be using it for coating chicken when frying, where it's not the star of the show. Always good to find another good use!
I'm not a watermelon eater, BUT...I absolutely LOVE dried watermelon. Tastes like candy!

One of my must have back to school items are small, zippered pouches. I like them for solar battery banks, USB cords and charging ports. If you see them in stock at Wal-Mart, grab them. Thing to remember about these types of seasonal items is that the stores only get one distribution of them. That's also something to think about in terms of apparel. Most of this stuff comes in through the port of Long Beach, and there is very little in the way of ship traffic coming to port. Operate on the basis that once it's gone from store shelves, it's gone.
As for July 4th, nothing says fun like fireworks and watermelons.

Leisa, (I hope I spelled your name correctly!) I am SO upset with Walgreens because every time I checkout the cashier always asks me "Do you want your receipt?" Damn right I want my receipt! It's mine, isn't it? It's part of my purchase, isn't it? What if I get home and realize that I have been overcharged and don't have my receipt, then what? Plus, there is also an option to complete a survey about my visit to win a cash prize at the end of every receipt so WHY wouldn't I want my receipt?! STOP asking me if I want my receipt! It's mine! Put it in the bag and don't worry about it! If I don't want it, I will throw it away myself! Sorry to vent on you Leisa but does anybody else feel the way I do? 😠
Awesome deals. I hit one today myself. At my local walmart, I got 30 lbs of leg quarters for 41 cents per pound!!! Ugly chicken time😅

If you are going to spend money on food to eat this month I recommend you make 1 or 2 of those items from Thrive and see for yourself. Eat now plus some for later & won't go bad for year. Doesn't mess with monthly grocery money - that's what you partially spend on Thrive.
Thank you so much for your posts ,they tell us a lot . I can and yes all else to be prepared . I am from Michigan but none live in South Carolina. Retired here 11 years ago to be close to the family . We prepare in all areas as storms come though here sometimes. Yes I agree we as a country are in a bad way . Leisa when i open a can of Thrive Life and don’t use it all at once (there are only two of us) i put the leftover in mason jars and vacuum seal it. Should i use an oxygen absorber in case i lose that seal? Should i also always use a moisture absorber? I live in Florida without benefit of an a/c and its so humid it feels like im trying to breathe through a wet sponge.
An air tight container should be enough. A moisture absorber probably wouldn't hurt

@@donnad4264 Yes, I believe it is because it is so clean...just pure food, no additives, etc. The variety is amazing!!! So many different types of cheese, meats, veggies, fruits, beans. The milk is incredible!! Eggs are just like real eggs...because they are! They've just had the water taken out of them. So worth the investment!!

Leisa can you please recommend tell me what to look at for safe freezing options on food. I was looking at freezing fresh eggs, for instance, and I have a whole slew of different answers on how long they are good for? Thank you!
It is safe to freeze eggs after removing them from their shells. You can beat yolks and whites together or freeze whites and yolks separately. Whites freeze very well and can be beaten into meringue after thawing. Freezing yolks is less satisfactory; it causes the yolk to become thick and syrupy so it will not flow like an unfrozen yolk or blend very well with the white or other ingredients. To freeze yolks, mix four yolks with a pinch of salt and one and half teaspoons of sugar or corn syrup. Store frozen blended eggs, whites or yolks up to 12 months for best quality. You can freeze cooked eggs but the quality is not the best.

Thanks for the tip on Thrive products. Unfortunately I had to donate my Ninja Air Fryer to the hospice store as I found out after I had it a couple months the coating is Teflon that gives off PFAS which accumulates in the body causing cancer.
So do your dryer sheets, some laundry detergent, a long list of things

I have been a Thrive customer for years. I swear by them. I no longer worry about fresh veggies going bad because I didn't get to them fast enough. I always have what I need to make. I dehydrate a lot of my own homegrown veggies and what not, but somehow it's never enough or out of season. FYI: their sauce mixes are the bomb. I started Thrive with a little every month and it built up fast. Sometimes something is out of stock but when I come back next month, it's back. Oh, You just can't have enough precut onions, I buy double. Lisa is telling it real with this REAL FOOD product & how great it is. I have no connection with the company besides a customer. Delivers right to my door. Oh, and light weight packages even this old lady can lift. It just kills 2 birds with one stone for me. Food I can trust for now when needed and long shelf life for preparedness later for an emergency. What's not to like. OH AND THE PRICES: are some of the best out there. Competitors are higher in cost and fillers. Plus a stand up company with great customer service. What's not to like? I highly recommend the Thrive product line of dehydrated foods.
