Lovely podcast..... I just love her... thankyou for not showing off the urge to ask questions and interrupt her again and again. Liked the way you stay so humble and polite....Cheers... would her on the show again....Her books are the amazing...really.....
Ami Ganatra has been a medium for me to connect with Sri Rama. Since 2- 3 days, I had a feeling to rewatch the episode of her's on Vinamre's channel which really brought me closer to Sri Ram. Little did I know there was a new episode waiting for me here. Thankyou :)))))
Ami Ganatra should write next book on Chanakya. I lover her both books. She is a very good writer. Clear and crisp in her points. No contradictory statements in between. She also put many interpretations of complex situations to make things easier.
One incident in Valmiki Ramayanam. When Ram's coronation was cancelled and asked to go to Vanvas, he accepted without expressing any feeling. He didn't show any feeling even at his mother. But when he met Seetha ji, he could not hide his emotion.
Honest feedback from a new channel follower. The host was sensible enough not to interrupt or interject the guest, unlike in various other podcasts. It breaks the flow of thought of the guest and is annoying for viewers / listeners too. Also, would have liked the host to have read at least one of her popular books and to have asked Qs from the book(s). Many viewers would have liked to buy her books to get a deep dive into her narrations of both the epics. I understand that this was not meant to be a book review / promotion podcast but it just helps the guest get more visibility and the channel can take some credit for it too. Pointed Qs from her books would have made the podcast more focused and engaging. Besides, Ami Ganatra is among the few writers on ancient Indian history with a good understanding of Sanskrit, which would make her work / books more credible and authentic interpretations of the epic tales of Mahabharata and Ramayana. It would be a much more genuine narration compared to books written by Western scholars knowing nothing about Sanskrit hence haven't read any original texts, and who merely refer to secondary sources whose narrative fits their own agenda. Good luck !
I have read both Mahabharat & Ramayan book that she has written, my initial plan was to talk about those books, had figured out few specific questions as well from the books. Although, on the day of the shoot we had some time constraints & doing book specific conversation would have taken at least 2hrs, so had to go with a free flowing conversation which could be wrapped under an hour. Nonetheless, I respect the feedback you’ve given, next time whenever we do a podcast with Ami ji, I’ll keep it book specific & build upon this feedback. Thankyou for the support! Jai Shree Ram! 😄🙏🏻

What Amiji is saying about Ramayan and Mahabharata being "history" told in "katha" format, to leave life lessons and greater impact for humans is true., and we take the storytelling tradition for granted. Unknowingly i saw the impact of "katha" mode of learning history when i read a book on Shivaji maharaj. Being a non-maharashtrian, i wanted to know all about him. He is a historical figure, and everyone has heard some facts about him here and there. I knew he is a respected figure, there must be something to learn about him. I downloaded two biographies about him. One was written in a non- fiction timeline format, where all major events in his life, his family members names were written, but i still didn't understand what was so special about him besides being a founder king of maratha dynasty. The book was easy read, 150 pages probably, small but i dont remember. The another book told his story in katha style -" once upon a time, a pregnant lady named jijabai was sitting in her house worried.... " it was a 735 page book, i read it in one sitting of one day and overnight, i can narrate you smallest to biggest facts and events in correct chronology, and i couldn't sleep for two days, my mind was blown, and just like every other maharashtrian who grew up listening to stories of veer shivaji maharaj, i became a devout fan in span of one night. I reflected upon my own life, got intensely motivated by him, and had long lasting lessons from his life. THAT IS THE POWER OF KATHA. That is why most of sanatan dharma that a Hindu knows and understands is all that is taught to him through stories, not by reading, and memorising a particular book. You could do that, but that is a scholarly act, if you are inclined, but you are not required to do so. Storytelling, is bharatwarsha legacy of literature and learning, which is in no other civilisation in the same central way as it is in ours. Edit: typos, and spelling mistakes.

When someone dies in Hindu culture why we say "RAM NAM SATYA HAI" and why not " SHIV Naam Satyta hai" jbki I have heard all the tym shiv hi Satya hai ...Satyam Shivam sundaram
It is written in Shiv puran that when someone dies and people chant ram naam satya hain... Lord Shiva gives moksha to that aatma in kashi
Because ram and shiva aren't different. It's your problem if you look at them differently
