Im tempted to buy it but my TV table is only 80cm and I think it's about 96cm. I guess there are rubber pads at the 4 corners of the bar. Are there any pads closer to the middle? I'm thinking it might vibrate if it's sticking out over the edge of my table.
Purchased through Amazon (prime day deal) for $234.00. Will receive 18 Oct. We have returned a couple of soundbars in the last few months since the newer models don't have the same quality as our 2017 Samsung and LG soundbars. Also, we may have a problem, as it may partially block part of the bezel on our Samsung TV ( Sierra is 80 mm/3.19 inches height) ..plan on cutting off the rubber feet which will allow approximately 1/8 inch reduction and should hopefully, be a good fit. We have the cheaper 150 watt K2 model in the bedroom and we like it although it has a bit of a metallic/echo sound. Are the 2 upfiring speakers the same size as the 4 front speakers? I assume there is no subwoofer settings. Nice review!
Glad you liked the review! Not sure about the driver dimensions on the upward vs frontal ones as this was not shared by the manufacturer.

I have a Majority snowdon soundbar,
but i hear alot of hissing from soundbar when sound is up a bit,
can anything be done to fix this,
the optical cabel i have is a very cheap on would it be better if i got a very good optical cabel on does that make any difference to the sound,

@@boutte88 should just turn off; I can't recall having an issue (unless mentioned in the review) - can't remember. Maybe check that you have HDMI CEC enabled on your TV settings?
I bought this Soundbar as a class 'A' return for £127 delivered, I have been nothing but impressed, I have 2 tv's in my odd shaped room (semi/split level) so the bar is never really ideally located but I swear a couple of times I've looked over my shoulder. The Bass can be Fierce but I bought this to try to match the sound of my 10 year plus old Harmon Kardon Soundsticks (which I adore and will not have them criticised) with my second (for watching in bed) TV - They provide a far more immersive experience and Atmos content really kicks @ss. I have seen this soundbar criticised by people who don't know how to use an HDMI lead FFS. It has been a revelation, I didn't expect much and I have been slapped in the face - best £127 I ever spent...on entertainment anyway 👍

Had this soundbar for 3 days now and here are my thoughts. It suffers from insomnia! After powering it off (standby) it will randomly power on/off throughout the day/night when not being used. I think it's possibly due to our roku hdmi cable plugged directly into the hdmi input of the soundbar (I've often observed the roku lighting up in our other setups for no apparent reason when not in use), so it may be waking up the soundbar periodically. Another annoyance is that it is not in list of soundbars to sync with our tivo or our Toshiba fire tv. Only the standard soundbars Samsung, Sony etc. are listed ( could there be an alternate majority "brand, model name" that would work?).
The sound is great! especially for the price. We really enjoy the surround effects..just wish we didn't have to juggle remotes due to it being a fairly new company and not listed to use with our tivo and fire tv remotes.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Sounds like an HDMI CEC issue - see if there are settings you can disable on your stick to ensure it doesn't switch on when turning on the TV/soundbar.
@@TotallydubbedHDUnfortunately, here in the USA..Majority is really an unknown brand so consequently tivo and roku doesn't recognize it even with CEC enabled..already used to juggling remotes! Lol

Hi I just watched your review and I have noticed mine has a tiny electronic wine when you press your ear close to the bar! Is this the problem you described? I have to say I have had the bar a couple of weeks and it's fantastic and when in use this can't be heard isn't a problem. What did majority say when they explained the problem to you?
That's the problem indeed, I'd take that back and tell them TotallydubbedHD sent you. They should replace it.
@@TotallydubbedHD I'm really not sure what to do? I have been in contact with Majority and they seem to surgest its just interference from a router or wires or maybe even then tv. The thing is I'm very happy with the bar and it's not affecting anything when I use it. I just wanted to check it's not a fire hazard or anything... Unsure what to do because obviously swapping is a pain! What did they offer as explanation to you?
@@darkpoethd9913 I'd return it and again, say I sent you - here was their reply on 21 June: "I can confirm we have located and pinpointed what may have caused the hissing/feedback interference from the soundbar which was hissing noise from a high-frequency transformer, we are in the process of fixing this issue and preventing any further issues with the soundbar, This has been resolved by installing a casing, and we have asked for all concentration to be put into the area of the board with the transformer. "

Can I ask you about the sound you had? Mine is more of an electronic wine or wur rather than a hiss though I guess it's all down to interpretation. What do you think are the potential pitfalls of not returning it are?
@@darkpoethd9913 from memory, it was a whine/hiss/electrical sound, and given what the cause was - it seems I was on the money!

What's this hdmi arc all about? I just use an optical cable. Is this the better or worse way to connect to my TV?

Does this soundbar support cec? It sits a bit higher than most bars at around 80mm and will cover half of the bottom bezel on my Sony TV. I many thanks
From memory, yes. Check specs!
Cut off the rubber feet and that will lower it a bit..the feet only keep it from sliding/damaging TV stand..but most won't have that problem. My wife said she could place a paper thin rubber type piece of material underneath if necessary.
@@tedrik1346 wouldn't recommend, as this could induce unwanted vibrations.
@@TotallydubbedHD I will certainly check for any vibration problems as that is a consideration/concern I have (hopefully, it may not even be necessary)..we do have some thinner rubber type material that may help..might check it out on one our older soundbars in our closet..lol..we have lots of soundbars and outdated TV's that we give to our neighbors.

How did you test Dolby Atmos if your TV doesn’t support?
I plug the source (ie Blu-ray) straight into the soundbar, rather than in the TV :)

Yes it is.
I’ve had this soundbar for over a year and while the audio is much better than the TVs speakers, I cannot seem to get the vocals to match volume with everything else. Explosions etc are way too loud. I have tried PCM and bitstream and although bitstream does sound better I still cannot hear the vocals. I have also tried the presets and adjusting the bass and treble on the remote but this seems to have a negligible effect. Hopefully majority customer service can point me in the right direction, otherwise I will have to buy a new soundbar
Bitstream is what you want, but in terms of the vocals it's pretty good for its price. Other than adjust the settings there's nothing more you can do.
What about eARC on Sierra? I have read that of soundbar doesn't have eARC HDMI, then it's forced to use compressed dolby atmos instead of "HD" dolby atmos.

At the moment Prime Disney etc only stream compressed so your missing nothing over Ark.. With the Hdmi 1 on a 4k bluray you get the full fat Atmos! I bought this the other day and I love it

Some customers seems to have problems with HDR pass-through . Have you too?
Didn't test for HDR passthrough via my Blu-ray player.
Atmos effect on the soundbar isn't good. Ive cranked up the volume aswell with virtually no effect from the upfiring speakers . The soundbar is placed good aswell about 4 inchs away from the tv and sits on a corner unit sending volume up towards my flat roof in a smallish room. ive had this a few weeks now and played around with settings. The upfiring speakers are way too quiet i tried a few surround tests aswell the atmos speakers sound like there coming from the back of the tv . 3d mode is poor on this soundbar doesn't give you surround sound effect, and certainly no sounds bouncing of the celling. It does however give you a very imersive experience as it pulls you into the scene like your in the movie. Music sounds amazing. Sometimes the bass is too heavy and overtakes dialogue , you can alter settings but this messes up the other effects of the soundbar. If they added a center channel or tweeters insted of the upfiring speakers this would be an amazing soundbar.
Interesting assessment. Are you actually playing back Atmos content though?

The sound and support is very good, but it has quality issues - volume varies between analog and digital inputs, so at night even the lowest is louder than I'd like with ARC or a direct optical connection (the analog volume number needs to be double digital to be equivalent). Also with these digital connections, if the audio settings change it frequently swaps left and right channels until restarting it which is almost unusable for gaming or UA-cam on PC/consoles. Plus the subwoofer sounds very bad listening to music using bluetooth. I'd only recommend this soundbar for 3.5mm analog.
I had 2 before getting a refund. Both the same. The first also emitted a hot plastic smell occasionally. They need to improve their quality testing before placing their product on the market. I ended up with a much more expensive Samsung soundbar which sounds a lot better in the mid soundstage, where the Sierra Plus was lacking a bit even compared to my old Creative T20 desktop speakers.
Unfortunately many soundbars struggle with the volume optimisation. As for Bluetooth, I can't recall having any issues, though, didn't do any critical listening due to the lowered codec support.
I had a sierra some time ago had buzzing and other issues . Support kept asking to try things but nothing helped they obviously don't test before shipping .
Of course I returned after a lot of messing .
I was tempted to order this but they haven't sorted their quality issues after all these years so I'm afraid not I don't want to go through that again . Shame but I think it hols true you get what you pay for .
They reached out to you so… hmm always makes me suspicious and you for got to mention no cables in package and not even batteries for remote - from comments quality control is obviously an issue. Guess you get what you pay for. I’ll pass.
Companies always reach out to me, sometimes it's the other way around. That's normal.
As for mentioning what's in the package, there's a manual or even listed on their website - I don't need to read you out the broshure.
Frustrated with this soundbar..continuous to power on randomly after tv is off (even after moving it to our samsung tv). Doesn't communicate via cec ( on or off). Even tried switching tv from soundbar to tv speakers before powering off..still that damn "welcome " and "arc" as if the tv was on. Additionally ..not liking the fact that you cannot dim or fade out the display. Possibly future models will implement improvements/fixes. Also would be crisper if they added tweeters instead of only full range speakers.
Interesting, I've seen that problem only when there's HDMI CEC in operation. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

One month later...the good... Good built quality, good price, good low end tones... The very bad... Lacks crispiness... it's just not there, very big let down that spoils this system all together. EQ pre settings are not great at all. Also volume level 1 may be just a bit too high if you are watching telly at night but you can't adjust to lower volumes as it goes directly to zero....it can go very loud but you wouldn't watch movie to that volume so it's a bit wasteful. If i could go back would i buy it again? No sorry, I'd rather wait and save a bit more to get something else that has better Dolby Atmos and better EQ settings.... Will be using it for a year or so but I'll be buying something else asap.... movies today have excellent audio tracks that are just wasted if listened to with systems like this one.
Thanks for sharing, but I think you'll still be disappointed by many other systems that come in at a much higher price tag too. Unless you really splash out.

Problem is there are no tweeters for highs/crispness..all 6 speakers are full range which seem to emphasize mids/lows.
