My great grandma found this game in her recliner today. I’m 17 now and it was my babysitters game she let me borrow it when I was like 4 or 5 😂. Nostalgia came so unexpectedly 😭
Fun fact, this version had 3 mushrooms per stage, which meant you could get a maximum of 5 HP per stage if you were diligent enough to scour everywhere.
You also had to find the vases that had the secret potions to allow you to access those hidden areas that had mushrooms. You have to be quick though because of the moving sand otherwise you lose the power up.
This was the game my mum got me when I was in Canada. When I got this, I never completed it. This is one of my favourite GBA games and I missed it playing it. I love to go back and play it again.

I don’t know why, but it brings a smile of amusement to my face at 1:05:12 to see that little crab dancing before the bubbles turn him into the boss that he is. Just the way he does his little dance… the tempo of the pre-boss fight music just fits so well with the movements. It’s so petty and insignificant, but it makes me happy. I also just really like the pre-bossfight music too. It’s honestly a vibe all on it’s own.
The screen crunch really makes this game harder than it should be. I just wish they didn't do screen crunch for this one. Then again, the screen crunch is what makes this game so iconic.

There will always be enough idiots that would buy them. And it costs Nintendo nothing to download these ROMs from emulation sites and resell them (they did exactly this for the Virtual Consoles, it was discovered in the coding).

It had some Mario mechanics but some new ones and completely different characters. Nintendo then made SMB2, which Nintendo of America did not like at all and the compromise was to take the aforementioned Nintendo/Fuji game, replace the protagonists with Mario characters and release that as SMB2 in the US. This is what Super Mario Advanced is based off of. Tl;dr: look up Doki Doki Panic on UA-cam and you’ll understand.

I know that super Mario advance is just super Mario 2 remade for the gameboy but advance is soooooo much better! from the addition of voice acting, to the brighter colors in the stages that make everything POP - to the update of the music from 8 bit! LOVEE IT!
Nintendo needs to release a GameBoy Advance Retro. They did it with the Super Nintendo; now it's the time for the GBA. They will make many people (me) who never had a GBA happy.
