i do like how we had the deck of lunacy fiasco in early 2021 and EVERYONE hated it
and then blizzard buffed energy shaper 3 years later in early 2024 and it was THE EXACT SAME FUCKING DECK AGAIN
The shaman slide gave me ptsd.

I'm going to play Kil'Jaeden warlock like crazy. I don't care it's not gonna be good, I'm all for random shenanigans. Yes, I'm one of those Deck of Lunacy enjoyers 😅
As a Reno Priest main from all the way back in Kobolds and Catacombs, I will never abandon Anduin, he is too iconic for the archetype. I'm running both Shadowreaper and Raza the Resealed. Can get that repeating hp more consistantly. But yes, Darkbishop Benedictus made Reno priest more efficient.
The Ceaseless Expanse is really cool for a card concept, I wish that It’ll be good in some deck during it’s time.
Paladin is going to go nuts with it.
Maestra of the Masquerade gotta be my favorite card of Perils in Paradise. I was playing it before it got buffed because:
1. Heroes are neat and powerful cards AND let your Tess replay rogue cards.
2. Tourist is such a cool mechanic to build around.
Rogue touring into Warlock makes a non-aggro rogue possible with Health Drink, and honorable mention to Announce Darkness which is a really fun card and one I've actually had a lot of success with combined with Spectral Cutlass + weapon buffs.
I think ethereal oracle is just so clean. Neutral that slots into so many decks while being fair.
So about the Renathal / Pirate DH discussion, I think that in the case of Hunter specifically, it has to run Renathal to compete with pirate decks where the 10 extra health does matter. While it does have anti aggro tools, they are really lackluster. Other classes have better anti aggro tools and thus they would do well against aggro even without running Renathal.

4 mana 7/7 was kinda funny because it was a card that most classes would kill for but Shaman didn't run it because they were just THAT oppressive for the time and had better options.

25:20 It is very interesting to me that your impression of the current reno priest lists is much different then my. I haven't seen a 30 card Raza priest in months (which is the more on curve and combo focused version as I understand it), every list I see and all opponents I play run a 40 card tech and value pile. But I'm not a top 500 legend player or what ever, so I'm not sure how much my impressions are worth. Are lists in high legend that much different?

Is twin slice better at 0? I liked the extra attack when I played demon hunter, no other card was as effecient. The ranked spell was played just because it was fel, while cards with higher "stats" weren't.
You didn't run Brann in the Zilliax Virus deck. So you would have 1 Zilliax + 2 from inventor boox + 6 from hydration station + 6 from tidepool pupil... I had over 80% winrate over the 2 days that I played that deck.
Also I am very hyped about The Ceaseless Expanse, I always love to see lategame cards.

Inventor Boom + Unkilliax became really popular after Virus Module was "nerfed" and had its stealth replaced with elusive. This change was made because Rogue would just cycle through their whole deck, play a stealthed virus/power module that doubled its attack each turn, and if you couldn't deal with it you just died (very fun). Anyway, Unkilliax and Inventor Boom started doing disgusting things after that, and Virus Module was even nerfed from 3 to 4 mana, which obviously mattered so much, it's not like everybody and their mother were cheating it out with chemical spill or Dorian or Marin already.
And all of this was before Hydration Station came out.
I have no idea why the hell the developers not only let Zilliax Spam exist, but actively printed support for it, even though literally everyone despises it.
It always had Elusive. The acual change is that when they got rid of the Stealth they gave it +1 health as Virus module used to be a 1/3.

That druid slide was just...gave me horrible memories of that twist format. Tier 0 format where only one deck was playable, absolutely horrendous game design there. That being said I do love the Ceaseless Expanse, the silly 100 mana 15/15.
The new giant is super sick especially its signature art!
Out of the revealed cards, I think I like Velen the most. Can't wait to play a clunky Adaptive Amalgam deck that should go infinite if the stars align
Flamewreathed Faceless was never the major power in that era of Shaman. Thing From Below was so much worse to deal with. A lot of lists didn't even bother with the 4 Mana 7/7 since if it got cleared you were now so far behind.
God Mech Rogue in Titans was absolutely awful to fight

4 mana 7/7 is a MEME it was NEVER a power outlier, people made that up cuz of muh big stats.
people started cutting faceless towards the end of that meta because getting sapped on overload 2 was really really bad.
Kinda weird how you rag on big decks as well as tutoring with stuff like Darkest Hour but you also appreciate the mini-set in standard when Dungar is literally just a mass mana-cheating tutor card that you can target specific minions with.
