- Headcanon voices for Deltarune by Toby Fox.
Spoilers for chapter 1 + 2.
I challenged myself to create a voice cast using my typical pool of primarily anime voice actors - I used the studio Sound Cadence as a personal reference for who I thought would be reasonable to include in a voice cast for it.
There's a lot of minor characters so I only chose the ones I felt I had interesting casting choices for - characters like Clover and Nubert I just didn't have much ideas for. I didn't do characters I already did in the Undertale voices video, like Temmie or Monster Kid.
I tried getting clips to match the character but sometimes I just use what I have so don't worry if the clip isn't 100% in character.

Susie's voice absolutely didn't work for me, and then the cry of BUTTMUNCH made it work.

Morgan berry would totally be able to do it better if she already had a character that fit. The character from the lines was probably more serious. But I think she could do the voice perfect.
If you aged-up and feminized Nelson Muntz from the Simpsons, you'd get kind of close to the abstraction in my head.
@@anvypieender5804 More or less my approach, yeah - I cast the actor first with the confidence they would nail it in a real performance but I only have so much patience to watch everything an actor has done to find a fitting 30 second voice clip, ha ha.

I had no voice in mind for Seam until this project tbh - I knew there was debate about their gender and opted for a nonbinary voice actor, and Jalen had the energy I wanted so I went for them. Was one of the harder to cast.

Seam (I think it's Séam because of the "Shawm" pronunciation, the font probably doesn't have the 'é') is the equivalent of John

Only 2 I've got an issue with. Berdly and Spamton. Berdly seems way more snotty sounding, and spamton kind of sounds like a deranged skeletor with [THIS TEXT] said in like an advertisement voice.
@@purebloodwhiteboy Admittedly using just official stuff as references I didn't really have a way to represent the advertisement stuff lol. I always imagined him as a car salesman voice so went with Sonny Strait, and imagine he'd be interrupted with other voices as he spoke - just didn't want to try editing all that, ha ha.
Honestly, I think a lot of these are really fitting, especially the ones for Sweet Cap'n Cakes, but...Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, the one for Berdly is just. Like. It's too good, in a bad way; the voice is great, the lines you chose are perfect! But I genuinely just can't imagine it as Berdly's voice, at least for most of it. I guess whenever the voice gets especially high when yelling, then it sounds pretty spot on for me, but hey! That's just what I think.
My approach to these videos is sometimes "I don't have the exact sound I want so you just gotta trust me this guy would be perfect" lol. I can't always match the exact sound the entire time but if I get the vibe across of "yeah that actor would work well in context" that's all I need.

Honestly I headcanon the original starwalkers voice to be that one guy who did it that sounded like a really bad discord mic

Greg Ayres did voice Monokuma in the Danganronpa anime and I considered getting clips from that for him but I was too amused by getting him voicing a literal cat for the clips lol

I once saw a video of someone who used the AI Voice generator to have GladOS read Queen's lines. It was...alarmingly accurate

Urbosa’s a good pick, but I feel like her lines don’t capture the vibe of Queen properly.
@@Mikescool444 fair, but it was the first and most popular role i could think of at the time to make you go "OH, her!" the actress themself would have the deeper, more mature "wine aunt" vibes than the "valley girl" vibes given by the current lineup. Elizabeth Maxwell also does miss midnight from MHA and albedo from Overlord. it would take a while to find the perfect example of her doing the voice justice but I hear it in my head.

Valid, I don't have a hugely set in stone voice for them. Even with the actor I gave I don't know what performance I'd like them to use for Seam - hell, they've played scratchy voices before (see Okuyasu from JoJo's).
Clavicus Vile from Skyrim would be my ideal voice for him (even though it's not raspy).
These were such good picks that they nearly distracted me from noticing that I had hatched a Shiny Pumpkaboo. I thought my 2DS was getting funky lighting or something.
If a video can nearly distract me from THAT, well, that's an achievement.

always imagined Berdly sounding a lot more nasally than this... and I think Glados' voice works wonders for Queen.. other than that, 100% agree with these voices
Clair's lines for Tasque manager fits nicely, I can see it.
I did have to clarify if it was Clair (I should know her crit quotes well thanks to Echoes), mainly because Alexis Tipton also voices Lucina and Palla and I didn't want to get confused, but I knew it was Clair from the "On your knees!"

Many of these voices fit very well! The only voices I recognise here are the Ace Attorney ones (it’s the only anime I’ve watched).
The only one I recognised pretty much instantly was Tasque Manager, and that's because I'm an unapologetic Fire Emblem fan and Clair is too great to not be memorable.
Queen feels just perfect with GLADOS voice from portal, just listen to it

The way I always imagined it in my head was that Susie would have a much more brawny and youthful sounding voice
Couldn't find a performance I liked for Susie but really wanted to cast that specific actor for their ambiguous range and quirky voice - I suppose "Fan Cast" is a better name than "Headcanon Voices" in this scenario

Recently saw a video where someone used a Glados text to speech on Queen's dialogue and it fit so well I can't see it any other way
Alot of these edited with the voice effects from the game (like spamton, jevil and queeny) would be perfect
Sweet always reminded me of the robots from Meta Runner, so I always imagined him sounding like them (by that I mean sounding like Luke, the co-owner of the company that made Meta Runner)

Honest my headcanon voice for susie is Jasper from Steven Universe. A little raspy. Everyone always imagines it more feminine but i can't especially after hearing that laugh.
For me queen has either the tiktok tts voice or a slightly obnoxious version of GlaDOS

Sonny as Spamton, is such a good choice. He has such a good vocal range, and he can PERFECTLY do the switching from one cadence and tone of voice to another that I would expect of Spamton. He can even do intimidating if he needs to.
