Kind of skipped over the bit where a regular M2 2280 drive won't fit the proprietary Apple connector... So you're stuck with used Apple or OWC aftermarket branded pcie drives. Also its much easier to remove the 2 screws to the airport card without disconnecting the 4 antenna cables. Saves time. Might also point out the best time to replace the memory is when the board is out as it's nearly impossible to replace at any other time. Oh and best to apply all adhesive strips to the chassis first. Stand the iMac upright and wedge something under the chin to support the process.Then remove the adhesive seal for only the bottom strip that goes along the base of the display. Carefully align the base of the display and rest it into place. Then you can tilt open the top of the iMac several inches to connect the LVDS and backlight cables and then rest the LCD in place to test the screen output. Once output is confirmed, tilt the screen an inch or two at the top before removing the remaining adhesive seal tabs on the perimeter. Then it's closed and ready to use. If it all seems to difficult, best to pay a professional to do the work as broken screens are expensive !
