Do not ignore that sign I did this many times as I drive fast normally that limp mode comes up when you full floor it , unfortunately due to my carelessness I presumed it was something small possibly to do with dpf getting blocked a week or two later the engine skipped a few beats as timeing slipped so that a expensive job now , doesn’t mean it’ll be the same for everyone but it’s best to check it out before it gets more serious
Drive train error could be a multitude of things. I got it just a couple of .months after I spent $$€€££££ fixing timing chain issues. I hadn't drove it for the past few months. Only numorous short cold journeys. Drive train error popped up and then soon later limp mode. Anyway so I took matters in my own hands. Sprayed egr cleaner and put dpf regeneration fluid into the tank and took it for a long drive in manual and kept it in a low gear and cleared the codes. After a nice long drive with the engine revs high the car has been fine ever since which has been a year now. I initially thought drive train error meant timing chain but after alot of searching on the internet alot of people said it could also be EGR and/or DPF issues I knew my timing chain was sound after I had it replaced because engine was running sweet as a nut. Touch wood , the error hasn't returned. Since lockdown I haven't been driving as much, only short journeys and as its diesel I make sure I take her for a good run at least weekly
@@tonio7112 no didnt come back. It solved it. Because its diesel too many cold short journeys is no good. If you do alot of short journeys then once a week take it for a long drive in a lower gear. (At the moment my car is at the mechanics because my high pressure fuel pump packed up.. which in turn has apparantly sent metal filings into the injectors so I'm having that done! I dont wish that on anyone! Soooooo expensive! My problem I think was I hadn't changed the fuel filter for a very long time!!)
Whilst driving at crawling pace only My 520d auto starts to jerk and then comes to a halt or stalls. Drive train malfunction appears on dash. Egr was replaced after the recall but was still doing the same before.
Hi I had the same message on very same car ,and it went off once I opened and locked the door has not come up yet, if I bring to the service center would they be able to know as one mechanic told if it’s in the data base then only they will be able find out.
Just had come up on my 2014 Bmw 750i M Sport. The problem was the fuel pump in gas tank. There is a filter bag on the pump that’s gets clogged.Your welcome
My 2012 550i m sport did this a few days ago after I put 91 in it when it was close to empty. The car did a crazy shake then went into limp mode. Took it to BMW and it came up multiple misfires. But they can't touch it because my car has been tuned and has too many mods. Fast forward.... The message goes away after I fill the tank up. The car is driving normal now but the engine light is still on but no codes I'm taking it to a German motors shop on Tuesday just to be safe. Strangely enough..... My E60 just completely died after getting gas from the same gas station. Same thing engine malfunction etc. But this car did not go back to driving it's completely dead now I have no idea what the hell happened.
I have same problem and same car , before I open and close door than is go , but right is get more checking ....... so I hope u can help me and explain to me ?
Dawid Ztorm that is one of the possibility as well. Check with your dealer and see if you vehicle is effected by the EGR COOLER recall. If it is then make sure you book it with them asap to get is rectified. If you don’t then you are in a risk of you vehicle catching FIRE. Hope that helps
I just bought my first BMW two weeks ago it’s a 2017 420d. Got the very same message today. I don’t know if this is relevant but at the time of writing this it’s January and very cold out. This happened to me less than a minute after driving my car for the first time today, so the engine, gearbox etc were all cold. The message did go away and I took the car out again later, got everything up to temperature and no message. Should I be worried about this or is this considered somewhat common? Also I should add, I drove the car in comfort mode in manual with the paddle shifters when it happened if that matters at all.
It's better you inform the dealer for record purposes even if its just low temperature. Just in case it metamorphosis to a bigger issue at least you ll be covered. Mine is 2013 and am taking to garage today so they ll have a look
Hi Kadz I had same problem today was driving and all of sudden drivetrain msg come up and I lost power and stuff. I just had recall done 2 days ago EGR and stuff and today this happened. Soo I tuk it bk to dealers coz it never gave me any problem bfr recall.
Hi Jawad It could happen on some occasion but its dealers responsibility to make sure its fit for purpose. So they have to make sure it is done without charging any cost. But try the method on this video and see if it helps Thanks Jawad
Im sorry to hear that. Its painful to lose a nice car like that. Yes this is why i recommended everyone to take it to the dealer as soon as possible. It is really dangerous
haha. thats funny. I didn't even realise that. its never true. calculates based on how its been drive recently.. that will never the true reflection. but I do wish that it was that good. will be the luckiest one ever
Hi Ayman It could be a number of things such as ABS of the Sport mode function. Its always better to go and get it checked just incase if its anything bad.
It is. You need to book in with the dealer soon as possible. It could be quiet dangerous to drive with the issue, depends on how much of it is blocked Thanks
Had th3 same thing last month for my 2011 GT535i. Replaced all sparkplugs and the issue was fixed....
Very useful suggestion- worked perfectly for me. Don’t mind the haters
Thank you ❤️🙏
Hi Kadz i had a similar massage on my car and it worked, im planning on doing the check next business day

I got a new chain and the error still persist when i floor it on hotter days

Hi Dawid.
I didn't quiet understand your question. What are you trying to ask?? Let me know
Kadz Official hey ! My question about drive training, so I find out is from EGR

Got the same message once..it got cleared itself after few seconds. Couple days after car went on fire... 2014 model too.
Im sorry to hear that. Its painful to lose a nice car like that. Yes this is why i recommended everyone to take it to the dealer as soon as possible. It is really dangerous
hahaha
Mine is now to i had my turbolines snapped now my tufbos blown
Had this pop up and the car drove fine...went away as quick as it came. When I looked at vehicle status...No faults.
It wont always show the fault but you still need to take it to the dealer to replace it. Remember ITS FREE TO CHANGE
@@kadzofficial5390 when i hit 100 it turns on. I turn my car off then in and jt goes away. Is this really free to get it fixed at a bmw dealer?
so what if its still shaking ?
what kind of gas tank you got.. half a tank and your showing over 300 miles left to fill up...
haha. thats funny. I didn't even realise that. its never true. calculates based on how its been drive recently.. that will never the true reflection. but I do wish that it was that good. will be the luckiest one ever
I have the same probleme is it serieuse ?
Hi Ayman
It could be a number of things such as ABS of the Sport mode function. Its always better to go and get it checked just incase if its anything bad.
If it would have been gas my first suspect - vacuum leaks
The fix if you get Multi Misfires: old worn-out spark plugs! Replace them with OEM Bosh spark plugs.... 😁
Spark plugs in Diesel?
Do u think isit coz of recall this happened
It is. You need to book in with the dealer soon as possible. It could be quiet dangerous to drive with the issue, depends on how much of it is blocked
Thanks
9 out of 10 the problem is a Misfire from one of the coils.
Yes unless its a "Multi-misfire" then it's old worn-out spark plugs and need to be replaced with original OEM Bosh!
Thats right
520d is diesel right. How does it have spark plug?
btw my car is diesel
